Jolime Cafe Ice Cream

I had a mixed experience when I recently stopped in at Jolime’s Ice Cream. The store is set back from a fairly busy road, has abundant parking, lots of outdoor seating at comfortable tables and they served up good ice cream. A small cone with sprinkles was almost $ 3.00. It is a bit more expensive than other places but not outrageous. The cone indeed was small unlike some other places that serve small cones that could really serve as a large. The vanilla chocolate swirl with chocolate sprinkles I ordered was good, as far as soft ice cream goes. It was nicely flavored, sweetened and the standard cone was fresh. I was able to enjoy it while seated outdoors at a table in a relaxing and unrushed manner.
Almost all of these seasonal ice cream stands are staffed by high school students. Some employers instill a sense of purpose in their employees and they act quite politely and committed to their jobs. Others, like Jolime, have young employees that forget an order immediately after you place it. In defense of this employee, she had a fellow prankster of an employee poking her with a mop handle trying to tickle her. While it was done in fun between friends, it still does tend to distract one from paying attention to a customer.
