Great pub and sandwich place. The chipotle chicken sandwich is amazing. One of the best places near SU and on marshall street for a sit down meal.

Most things in my previous review still hold true. The food is good, and it is a great place to get a few drinks with friends. However, the service is sub-par. I went on a date the other night, and it was just the two of us. We ordered chicken riggies and a sandwich. It took over 40 minutes for the food to come out of the kitchen. It was ridiculous. No apologies. No explanation. Sat the food on the table, ignored our empty drinks and moved on. Might be back for drinks at some point, but I won’t be back any time soon for dinner.

The blonde girl bartender gave me a drink with one of her greasy hairs in it. She’s abysmal. Other than that this place is great.

Went here before a football game at the Carrier Dome. The place was packed, but the bartenders were great at making sure everyone was happy. We also ate here, but the food was only ok.

Happy hour brews and good bar food! Drafts are a dollar off until 7 and they have a pretty awesome selection(including a wide selection of seasonals). Their burgers are consistently good and will always recommend. I tried the drunken Reuben the other day and it was the perfect amount of sauerkraut to Russian dressing on top of delicious corned beef. The one meal I wouldn’t recommend is poutine. I got it twice and each time it was cold and we had to ask them to microwave it. I even tried to get creative and add chicken but it was rubbery and distracting from the cheesy goodness. Overall a good spot near campus. Good lunch and dinner, and great pregame for a basketball game if you can get there early enough!

I’m so happy that we have Faegan’s on Marshall street. The perfect spot for grabbing a drink with coworkers after work, Faegan’s has an extensive beer list — a bit pricier than spots nearby, but you’re paying for it in the hip/pub ambience — and good food. I’ll often get lunch here — try the special sandwich or the classic fish and chips. Service can be slow, especially during peak hours, when it comes to food service, but soak it in and enjoy your moment away from class or the office. Faegan’s is a Syracuse University staple with reliable food and drink.

I seriously sat at the bar and watched a server handle money, touch the computer screen to place an order, wipe her hands on her pants and then proceed to mix a drink, after she poured the drink she used her same UNWASHED hands to pull apart a lime wedge and twist it to garnish the drink! How disgusting, I’ll never step foot in this place again!

Decided to walk over to take a break from hospital food. Very happy we did. Food was quite good, and hit the spot. I certainly recommend the buffalo wings. Decent beer selection, and anyone that carries Breckenridge Vanilla Porter on tap is ok in my book. Would have given 5 stars, but the noise levels made hard to hear each other at the same table.

I come here regularly since it is close to work. They have a really good beer selection, but a limited menu. Most of it is fairly typical bar fare. All of it is done well, but nothing special about it. Some of the daily specials are interesting, but even those seem to be repetitive in their flavors. Bartenders are always super nice. Good solid place to go eat, just short of getting 4 stars.

I really enjoyed the atmosphere here. Being close to campus, I expected to have a college feel, but was thrilled with the slightly more sophisticated vibe(It wasn’t loud and dark). I liked the selection of beers and ciders. I also enjoyed the simplicity of the menu. Ended up ordering the chipotle chicken sandwich, which was very good. The fries were underwhelming, but fine. I was disappointed that the waitress didn’t give us the specials menu, and we didn’t see it until well after we ordered, but overall she was very attentive and quick to refill drinks.

I wouldn’t say they have the best food or the best mixed drinks but the atmosphere is perfect for a more sophisticated college bar scene. This is the perfect bar to go to if you are a graduate student or coming to experience the college life with your kids who are attending Syracuse. They have flip nights on Wednesday which allows you to flip a coin for a chance at a free beer. This can get pretty packed pretty fast but besides that it generally stays full but not too full to move around and enjoy your evening. It is the perfect afternoon pub spot if you are looking for a relaxing beer and some cheap bar food that is a bit better quality than your average bar. I would definitely recommend this bar/pub over the other options you have on Marshall street if you are visiting Syracuse.

So any memories here. I was a Cuse student in the 90’s and we used to go to a coffee shop named Zopies and then walk to faegans. Much of my formative experiences are embedded in these walls. Coming back at 40 years old is a wonderful experience.

Since my last experience(years ago), I’ve returned and found the wait staff to be helpful, the food to be good bar food(try the chicken bbq — very good, great portions), I love that and sitting outside, will be back

It is my favorite bar on the hill. It’s the only bar that actually looks decent inside and I love the plethora of beers they have on tap. I enjoy going to flip night, but it can be pretty hectic as it gets pretty crowded. I definitely want to do the beer tour before I graduate from SU. During the day it’s a café. The food is okay– it isn’t mouthgasm worthy, but it also isn’t gross.

I worked nearby for about 6 months when we first moved to Syracuse and came here for lunch on average 2 times a week during that time. The food is just ok, but I like the vibe of the place as well as the people who work here, which is why I would come here so often. And, for being right by the University, it has a good non-student lunch crowd — probably due to the nearby hospital and medical offices. My go-to lunch was always the turkey club. Most times, it was good. However, the kitchen staff sometimes doesn’t put much care into the food they turn out. So, sometimes the bread would be burnt and/or the fries would be soggy. The club is a lot of food for the cost, so the hubby and I would typically split it for lunch which is a nice money saver. Other things I have tried here include their french onion soup(pretty good), hamburger(often overcooked), daily tacos(generally good, but depends on the day), and pulled pork(not a big fan). The décor could use an uplift/makeover, as it feels a little old to me. And, if you come here with a large group during lunch time, expect to be here awhile! I’ve been here multiple times with my husband and his colleagues and it always takes forever to get our food. When you don’t have time for a leisurely lunch break that can be a problem. I still do occasionally come here for lunch, likely because it was the first place my husband and I felt«at home» at when we moved to Syracuse. It holds a special place in my heart, so to speak.

I have been to Faegan’s several times, after I moved to Syracuse a few months ago, and I never have had a problem. But, today, there seems to be a new bouncer who was extremely condescending and rude, and almost denied me entry after telling that I looked drunk, and said that he will throw me out if he finds out that I am. I’m a Graduate student, and all day, I was in my lab working on my research, and I definitely was not drunk. This encounter with the bouncer certainly left an extremely bitter taste in my mouth, and I decided to not go in, and I probably won’t ever go to Faegan’s again. I’m sure that my statements here probably sound extremely petty, and the establishment certainly isn’t going to go bankrupt due to me not patronizing it anymore, but I felt like I had to make my grievances known. Besides this, Faegan’s is a decent bar with good options for food and drinks.

Faegan’s is my go-to spot for dinner or a late-night drink. The food is very good and they have a nice selection IPAs, local brews, and seasonal brews. Definitely the best place around the Syracuse campus for beer in regards to selection. Beer tour is on Tuesday and flip night is on Wednesday. If you’re not a college kid, stay away on those nights.

A great(if crowded) spot to grab a bite and a drink before the SU game! We had to wait a while for a table, he said 30 min, I think it was only about 20 which we happily waited by standing at the bar. I had a cider made from one of the well known local apple farms which I think is a really nice touch. When we were seated, our waitress took a little bit to come over to take our order but it was mobbed in there so no big deal because she was a sweetheart. She and my friend bonded over their elephant tattoos haha We shared a plate of delish nachos which had white queso, beans, and pico. They were mighty tasty. I just got a bowl of chicken noodle which was good, nothing to write home about but it hit the spot on a cold night! Despite the crowd, we got out of there in perfect timing to walk up to the Dome and enjoy the game.

Very underrated as far as campus bars go. Faegan’s offers three cool nights: Beer Tour(try beers around the world) Flip Night(flip a coin for free beer) and Senior Sunday. But it offers more than that. The food is awesome. The nachos are crazy good, and the pulled pork and fish and chips are my favorites. This is the nicest bar on campus with an awesome beer selection. If Chucks wasn’t so legendary, I have no doubt Faegan’s would be packed every night cause it’s honestly a nicer bar.

One of the bars that resonate with SU students and alumni. Senior Sunday is one of the best ways to start off a new week. Can’t beat the price for the Long Island Iced Teas. I never completed Beer Tour on Tuesdays. You get a passport and have to drink all the beers on tap. It’s a mission that clearly I got distracted by one that I enjoyed. Flip Night is insanely popular. Head there early! It’s a simple concept. Order a drink. If you call it correctly, it’s free. Make sure to tip, though! On Flip Night, Chucks has no cover. Food is fairly good for the SU hill.
