Burns-Garfield Funeral Home is in its 5th generation of funeral service to the families of Syracuse, Fayetteville, Manlius and Dewitt, New York. We are still committed to offering our families first class service at reasonable and affordable prices. Besides offering traditional funerals we also offer cremation services, graveside services, Home Funerals and Outdoor Funerals at our location on 3175 E. Genesee St. You can count on us to help you plan a personal, lasting tribute to your loved one. We also offer both pre-funded and pre-recorded Pre-arrangement.We realize that most families don’t really know all the options available to them, wether it be Cremation or Burial the possibilities are limitless. Our goal is to make you aware so that all the emotional needs are met for all those bidding farewell to the deceased. Remember it is always appropriate to honor the wishes of the deceased, and that the service itself is for the living.

History
Established in 1979.
Burns Garfield Funeral Home is a fourth generation funeral home originally founded by E.P. Burns in the early 1900’s. It was carried by J.P. Burns and then by Sehl Burns, and was located on West Onondaga Street. With the acquisition of Garfield Funeral Home on Westcott Street in 1979, the business became Burns-Garfield Funeral Home.
The new facility, located at 3125 East Genesee Street, has parking for 100+ cars and a seating capacity of 350 people, and is completely handicap accessible. Selection of the casket, monument, vault, urn and flowers can all be made at the time of arrangement.
We also have a collection of books, tapes and movies to help people of all ages and beliefs understand and cope with the various stages of the death process.

Tim Burns is a life long resident of Syracuse being a graduate of Nottingham High School and SUNY Oneonta Class of 2008. Tim attended mortuary school at Hudson Valley Community College and became a Licensed funeral director in 2012. Tim married his wife Kate in August 2013.
