The thing about Jill and Transglamtastic is how quickly and seamlessly the typical vendor/​client relationship melts away. You feel like you’ve gained a friend and confidant in the blink of an eye. And in this realm, at least for me, its an added value that you can’t put a price on.
Yes, she’ll help you to look fantastic. But that was just the beginning when I put my trust in the hands of such a fantastic makeup artist AND stylist (I learned the hard way with somebody else that those 2 functions don’t always go together). There are things that raise it way above that with Jill. You come away feeling good about yourself and confident in the way you look. And if you’re like me, its great to have somebody that has no problem or ego in helping you to learn to do for yourself despite that it might mean less business for her.
I guess I can see how some might not be as ready for such a friendly relationship. Good friends not only tell us how wonderful we are, but also have no problem telling us at times like it is. And there have been times Jill has given me the «Eh, that really doesn’t work unless you’re going for the boring secretary look» (I can lol now that I’ve learned a bit more about putting together my look). For me, that critical eye helps me to trust her even more.
Jill is in my «No thanks, I’ve got somebody» category. You know, that place you go in your mind when a friend says they have a great mechanic or hair stylist that you should check out. And anytime somebody tells me I should check out this or that glamour photographer service or makeup artist, I don’t think twice about it since I have Jill & Transglamtastic. And I seem to hear that a lot from her other clients that I’ve met out and about.

Truly Transformational in so many ways. I’m pretty sure Jill (who runs Transglamtastic) is either an alien from a superior race who was sent to Earth to bring peace to the human race… Or, perhaps she’s an American Pop star Time Traveler who came to LA from Tokyo in our year 2030 A.D. to just add a bit of glitter and glam to our silly, short-​sighted modern times… Either way, there are five-​star reviews, and then there are ten-​star reviews. Jill and her staff at Transglamtastic get a ten-​star review!
I have to admit I didn’t want to write a review out of fear for wanting to hold onto «a good thing». But, Jill is such an Angel (in the truest sense of the word) and so full of love, kindness and generosity that it would be a moral wrong to not share such a wonderful thing in hopes that others can experience what (for me) is a truly life-​changing experience. There is really something awesome and special about this woman that more of the world needs.
I found Jill on Unilocal and Facebook recently after years of finding similar services, but just never «connecting» with the right one. So, I set up a call to talk with Jill and it was if I had met an instant friend who understood my whole life… She was friendly, generous with her time, and gave me a ton of options to choose from. She told me she not only does makeover sessions, but also books a BnB type service. As it was my first time with a service like this (and never having gone out glammed up, to a club), I decided to make it a «spa weekend» and stayed over 7÷11−7÷13. She was SO PATIENT with me that weekend, and I never felt rushed. After winding down off a long work week (with several nights of 3-​hour sleep), I was able to just take my time (as much as I wanted), relax and slowly ease into an unrushed weekend. Prior to arriving, I was so stressed from lack of sleep that I worried I’d picked the wrong weekend. But everything turned out more perfectly than I could have hoped for. I’ve stayed at numerous ‘resorts’ and spas, but nothing measured up to me as much as this weekend did.
Highlights of the weekend were:
* Going to get a mani/​pedi at a salon on Friday night. First time ever doing this and it was amazing. She picked a great place with massage chairs, and the ladies there were super nice and complimentary (even exclaiming with glee over the nail colors I picked). I was in heaven as Jill thumbed through her fashion magazines occasionally, with her glasses down her nose, raising her eyebrows at some of the articles. She’s such a hoot.
* Relaxing + Getting tanned on Saturday/​Sunday by the pool. Kind of had an out of body experience both days while I laid in the sun thinking about how amazing /​rejuvenating the weekend had been.
* Going clubbing w/​Jill and Kae and meeting new friends!
* The hospitality… Kae (transglam staff) and Jill truly made me feel like I was staying at a hotel. I almost felt guilty that they were being so nice, but that’s just who they are. They even took me out Saturday morning for breakfast where I went out androgynously (just skinny jeans and flip flops, as I couldn’t stop staring at my cute pedicure!). First time ever doing that, and it was really liberating.
* The variety… If you need anything during your stay, just ask Jill and she’ll pull out a random drawer that has at least a half-​dozen variations of what you’re looking for.
* Jill’s personality… Combine Lady Miss Kier (from Deee-​Lite) with a fairy godmother (and parts real magical Faery), and add in a healthy dose of mad-​scientist + a better female McGyver and wrap it up in a sparkly futuristic Tokyo-​pop package, and you have Jill. And I haven’t even touched on her wonderful and hilarious sense of humor.
* The results… can’t say much more than what the other lovely ladies have written about Jill’s expertise… But yes, it was amazing! I’m hooked and will be a lifelong client. Her work was stunning and I felt she only touched the tip of the iceberg… So many wigs and makeup options… so little time. The airbrushing was wonderful and stayed on the whole weekend. Unfortunately on Sunday I teared up with wonderful emotions and ruined my mascara. lol
Overall, this organization is a well polished machine. Jill has decades of global experience in makeup and fashion, and with such a big heart, you’re foolish to not give her a call if you’ve been looking for a makeover service like this.
DISCLAIMER: Note that this review is for the «old/​previous» business location (as of ⁷⁄₁₃), because as of mid-​July, Jill and her team are moving to a new, larger, even-​more-​posh location (only 10 min up the road). That said, I can only promise that if you go to the new location, you’ll have the same experience, if not better, as her new place has a lot more room and can cater to more girls. Thank you for everything Jill! What an experience the makeover was. I had much more fun than I was expecting, and the results? Off-​the-​hook gorgeous! The next morning I was still wearing the makeup, marveling at how beautiful I looked. That moment I first saw myself in full made-​up mode, dress, jewelery, hair and the magnificent makeup, I was staggered. And the more I looked, the better it got. All I saw in your mirror was a beautiful lady. And that’s much, much more than I could ever ask for. I learned things I will use when I do my own makeup. The next day, in the daylight, I could really see the details, see the little things that add up to all the pop.
The compliments I got that night out were so positive. There were people that stopped dead in their tracks for a closer look. Your magic gave me a level of confidence I had never felt during a night out. I was sure to tell anyone that asked that you were the artist to be recognized.
When I got up the next morning, all I needed was a quick puff of powder and a light coat of cherry gloss, so the makeup looked like it was applied an hour before. I enjoyed it for the rest of the day, and of course, it was a sad moment when I had to wash it off. The whole experience will be one I will never forget, and already, I’m wishing to look just the same again. I can’t wait to book my next appointment!

I was going to visit L.A. and I was asking for make up services. I decided to ask one of my Facebook friends about any make up artist they new. They refer to one well known local make up artist from the community, but ironically this person wasn’t able to provide the service while I was going to be there because she was overbooked, so she was so sweet to refer me to Jill. I contacted Jill and she was so helpful since the beginning.
I booked an appointment with Jill, I went to her place and she welcomed me as if she had known me for years. She did an amazing job on my face and needless to say we talked about nothing and everything in a friendly sisterhood way that it seemed we knew each other for years.
Jill is a magnificent make up Artist, her skills are amazing, I was so pleased with the results the first time that my next visit to L.A. I booked again an appointment with her. I have tried every technique she offers and the results have been amazing. Every time Jill does my face, I received lots of compliments on my make up and how pretty I look.
I have to add the fact that Jill is a wonderful person, an amazing human being, so beautiful inside that is matched only for her physical beauty. The openness she has to address any issue in a conversation tells you how intelligent she is.
She is, as Marie mentioned before, really talented and creative and will give you a look that you will be impressed and I assure you, you will be back.
I love this girl and with no doubt I will be going back to her every time my path leads me to L.A., not only for her to work on my face, but because we have developed a friendship that makes me feel so comfortable around her and her beau, and also, just because I love her so much.

Jill is awesome! My make over and shopping trip couldn’t have gone better, she took me to some friendly stores and really had such a good eye for fashion. She. Was very professional yet totally fun to hang out with. I was nervous. And she totally put me at ease. I’ve gone back several times and I’m never disappointed. She really knows her makeup and will have. You looking the woman you’ve always wanted to be.

I have to warn you before you read this review. When you call Jill you are beginning a relationship that will become an extremely important part of your life. She is highly addictive, but fortunately not at all dangerous to your health or well being. In fact, you will find that you are a happier person (my experience, at least) with a much more positive outlook on life. That’s a big statement, but it’s the absolute truth.
She is, without a doubt, the most talented and creative makeup artist I know. Artist is the key word here, because her level of knowledge about beauty and the ways makeup can be used to achieve it are unparalleled in my experience. Her clients include men and women who wish to achieve feminine beauty in their face, their clothing (she is a stylist too), and every other aspect a beautiful woman presents to the world. I, myself, am transgendered, and I can assure you her studio is a very comfortable place to be. She is totally accepting about who you are and the specific looks you want to achieve.
She is an expert with airbrush makeup application. If you have not experienced this, you need to know that this is the most amazing makeup technique available. It’s used on TV shows and movies because of its smooth and even application of silicone based makeup that will last for at least 24 hours — I touch it up and make it last longer. You can swim in this stuff, pat your face dry, and still look amazing.
Her very private and comfortable studio is tucked behind a house just north of Burbank. This is like going to a mini-​spa. You come, shower if you need to, get made up and dress for the event you are headed for. She will advise you on what outfit works best for you, so bring a couple of options. She also offers a shopping service and will take you to local stores to select fashionable clothes that flatter who you are or want to be. She often sends me a picture on my phone when she sees something I might like. I invariably say «Oh yes please» and she gets it for me. I mean, really, what more could you want?

I was looking for a M to F Transformation place in the Los Angeles area and was recommended to Jill by (ironically) another similar service. We had a consultation over the phone where she found out what I wanted to do, what kind of event I was going to and of course, what kind of make-​up I wanted. She was extremely knowledgeable and was so nice and comforting. This was my first time doing this sort of thing and she treated me with utmost respect and kindness. When we met, she took her time and explained to me each step she was doing. It was a fantastic experience.
She did my make-​up for the first time two years ago and I’ve been going to her ever since.
Give her a call. She is so worth it! You won’t be disappointed!
