They have 1.25 pupusa specials on Tuesdays(?), and Thursdays, so I got a good deal. The other day, which was my first and only time here, I wasted most of my lunch for 3 pupusas to go, which took like 20 minutes. The front service staff stared a lot, hardly acknowledged me next in line because she was too busy staring at the previous customer. I had to take a few steps and literally block her view so I can order. She took my order apathetically with no words-not even a «what can I get for you?» from the get go. She literally just stood there on the register, waiting for me to order. I could feel her staring as I paid, and walked away. 20 minutes later, I went and stood in the front to check the status of my food, and I guess she saw me and gave me my order, with a serious«have a nice day». The pupusas weren’t bad, just not anything I’d rave about. I’d probably try the other tempting dishes I saw on their menu, but the customer service is awkward so I probably won’t be going back.

Service could sometimes be a little slow, but they are always friendly. Popusas are good. Tried a few other things, but nothing was too memorable. Food is affordable.

I tried the pupusas here and i honestly gotta say they’re not that bad. I had 2 revueltas and I actually liked it. The only reason I am giving it 3 stars instead of 5 is because the service was terrible. The cashier pretty much didnt even say anything to me and I speak spanish. Also if u want to get something quick for lunch i don’t recommend coming here because they take forever on the food. But food was delicious.

THEWORSTPUPUSAS I have ever had. The curtido was more like coleslaw and the pupusas were super dry and nasty. The place looks really dirty and the fact that the cashier was also doing the cooking while also breastfeeding her kid was just the icing on the cake. Would never recommend and will never be going back. I have nothing against working mothers but this was just wrong.

First time coming here and never ever ever again!!! Last week I ordered 7 popusas revueltas. They gave me a little cup of salsa for my 7 popusas. I kindly asked if I can have more salsa because that wasn’t enough. They gave me an attitude & they took a while to give me extra salsa. Seriously??? Well their popusas had no flavor and to top it off, my popusas were dry. The Curtido wasn’t tasty enough, I had better curtido. I do not reccomend this place. If you are craving popusas, waste your money somewhere else.

A little slow but good pupusas over all. The curtido could be better. Satisfied my salvi fix.

Can I just say yummy! My good friend asked someone to recommend a good mexican place after our favorite spot closed down, and happened here by complete accident. My favorite is the carne asada burrito, and she tends to get the chicken fajitas. The staff even know us now and almost know our usual. The setting in there is definitely unique. But like I said it’s delicious.

One of the WORST places I’ve ever eaten. I’m not sure if it’s under new ownership or they have a new cook. I’ve eaten here in the past and I’ll agree, it wasn’t the best food I’d ever had but it was ok. I was at the 99 cent store today and since its next door I decided to stop by. It took them 30 min to get my food… I assumed it would be because the food is fresh… no! Food tasted old. As if it had been refrigerated and reheated in microwave. If I wanted reheated food I could have eaten home. Their burritos are literally smaller than their tacos, and the tacos also suck. My popusa was completely inedible… I will never eat here again.

Why does this place have such bad reviews? Sure it’s not asthetically pleasing but the food is ok. I had menudo con pata and my friend had pupusas the food was yummy and we’ll portioned for the price. This is definitely a good place to have authentic Hispanic food on the go.

If you’ve desperately been looking for Salvadorean tamales, they have them in the morning and sell out by noon. It took me three visits to make it here in time to order some. They were fresh and moist, but there was nothing in them but shredded chicken and potato. If you’ve gotta have some in a pinch, these are just ok.

I was a little worried when I stepped in to this place. It was dead, the ambiance lacking… I tried to get a burrito around the corner but they didn’t take credit cards so I ended up here. I needed lunch after a round of golf up the street, and this was it. The young lady at the register was very nice but spoke absolutely no English, so I mustered up my poor Spanish and ordered a Carne Asada Burrito. I got home and was pleasantly surprised! For 5 dollars I got a decent sized burrito oozing with cheese, beef and rice. The salsa that came with it was a smokey thin variant that complimented the food perfectly. I would definately go back again if in the area.

I made my Unilocal account just for this place. First of all, I walk in, and I dont know if it is a mexican restaurant or a 99cent store. I was confused for a second. I ordered a carne asada burrito to-go, and got home to find out its not much of a carne asada burrito; more of a rice and cheese burrito with couple pieces of carne asada. When I placed the order, the cashier girl did not stop laughing. The restaurant was dead empty, so I am assuming she was laughing at me, who knows haha. Whether you want mexican food or eye shadow, this is not the place to go for neither.

I’m usually not picky with my food or restaurants but this one was just not a good one for me! The staff was not really friendly at all and they didn’t seem to care if we did or didn’t purchase anything! I only went there for a last minute craving for pupusas and if I would’ve know how they were, I would’ve just drove to my regular yummy place in reseda! The pupusas revueltas were dry and a little too much on the greasy side and had a little burnt taste to them! The salsa and curtido didn’t impress me at all! Will definitely not be going back again!

3.5 stars, actually. Recommended by someone who lives in the neighborhood, this was a decent local place to dine on a rainy Saturday afternoon. Pupusas were the call and pupusas were the order. And since pork was not in the lexicon for us, the order of the day was plain cheese, cheese and japaleno, and cheese and bean. A-OK. Three made a filling meal, with a curtido that was moist, tender, and quite good. Jalapeño especially was tangy, hot, but not biting. Plus, they sell plastic Spiderman suits, inflatable soccer balls, and have Coke from Mexico. Double-plus: next door is a decent thrift store. Lunch for two and a used pair of jeans for twenty bucks? Can’t beat it with a nightstick.

They never have anything here and it’s not all that good. They have stuff on the menu that they don’t have most of the time. What kind of business do they run here. Jalapeño and cheese popusas are a pass for me. That’s it!

Im new to the area and was looking for some pupusas. Ordered the bean and cheese and sorry to say they were not good. The curtido was dry along with the pupusas. We also ordered a taco, didnt like that either. The hunt continues for some yummy pupusas in Sylmar.
