I truly love this place! I always find great prices on office supplies. Including, I was able to buy my kids their school supplies like binders, folders and paper at a really good price. They also have poster boards cheaper than anywhere else.

They mainly sell office and school supplies at SUPER discounted prices. If you have the time to wander all the corners of this place you’d find a lot of stuff you need, and very often, don’t need. They sell things from a 20-​pack pack pens, highlighters, rulers to notebooks, folders, labels to filing cabinets, office desks, and cleaning supplies. It’s basically a scavenger hunt. I don’t think anyone working there could really tell you where something specific is. They’d probably just be like, «Somewhere in this general area.» But honestly I’ve never asked because I have so much fun just browsing the store. I can’t say they’d have everything you’d need, but just come here when you’re bored or need to kill time, that’s when you find stuff. Just remember it’s a $ 15 minimum to use card, but this place is so affordable you probably wouldn’t spend that much, so just bring cash.

LOVE THIS PLACE! Great– and I MEAN GREAT– prices and staff! Cindy was so incredibly helpful to me. I was looking for some things in particular. She totally helped me and was very gracious in making sure that I got all of the help that I needed. Some of the things were heavy for me and her co-​worker, a Latino man, who name I didn’t get was so awesome and carried them out for me. Its the small things– like being helpful– that really matter to me and why I am 100% happy with the service and prices here. I’ve been to another office supply business outlet in the valley– and this one is SO much better!!! Very glad to have found them!

This place is awesome! It’s a treasure chest full of low priced-​high quality office supplies and equipment. If you are looking for anything related to office equipment, desks, chairs, printer paper, mailing labels, file cabinets, dry erase boards, cork boards, shelves, notepads, calendars, pens, lap top cases, cleaning supplies, back packs, markers, desktop organizers or anything office/​back to school related… LOOK NO FURTHER! This is your place! Went there today and really enjoyed my shopping experience. Friendly staff and great customer service. I will definitely be back!

Our shredder finally croaked and we had literally hundreds of pounds of papers and old files to shred. I was desperate. For a week I’d been doing a lot of due diligence on shredders probably to the point of insanity. We do a lot of shredding and I wanted a shredder that would spit out the smallest shreds of paper PLUS have a long run time.
I found a few possibilities and decided on one from a big warehouse store in Canoga Park. But even after I bought that one on Wednesday, I was still looking. I was impressed by what I read about a GoECOlife microcut shredder GMW100Pi. Then I saw the retail price: $ 275 (or more) and was discouraged. For anywhere upwards of $ 300, sure, I could get what I wanted… but for less? No way.
On Thursday afternoon after the one I had just bought stopped working after maybe 20 or 30 pieces of paper (shocking, huh?), I checked one of my favorite places to find anything (craigslist) and sure enough, I found an ad for the exact GoECOlife shredder here at Desks Etc 4 Less for $ 99. I called and they still had one left but I am at Valley Circle and Victory, and they are at Foothill and Maclay, at least 25 minutes away by freeway. I didn’t want to drive out there and find out it was sold.
A very nice woman named Cindy told me she’d hold it for me until closing. She also told me it was a store return and I could test it before I bought it. Cool.
I got there about 90 minutes later and sure enough, there it was with my name on a HOLD tag. Then the woman behind the counter (Cindy had left for the day) gave me a printed disclaimer that spells out their electronics and mechanical items policy: test it there, customer may purchase upon testing, no returns or exchanges, all sales final, bla bla bla.
So far, so good. She took it out of the box and sure enough, IT WAS BRAND NEW, NEVER OPENED, STILL WITH THE STICKY TAPE ALL OVER IT. Clearly brand new for $ 99. SCORE!
Plugged it in and it worked perfectly. Paid for it, drove directly over to the big warehouse store at Canoga and Roscoe where just the day before I had bought the different shredder for the exact same $ 99 which only retails for around $ 175. Returned that one and drove home hoping this GoECOlife thing was going to live up to my expectations.
Well, about an hour ago, I finished 2 days of shredding probably 100 pounds of paper. It never sputtered, never jammed, never caused me grief at all.
I am not using their bags (pricey) but rather I am using clear bags for a smallish desk side trash can. They work great once I tear it and tie it in a knot in the back.
I will say a few things: disks shredded in the disk shredding orifice can cause a slight bin jamming problem if the pieces don’t fall all the way through. Just open the bin, jiggle it and that solves that. Be careful — shredded disks are sharp.
Second, the shredded paper does need to be pushed down and compacted in the bin after a few minutes because if the stack gets too high and touches the sensor, it tells the sensor not to shut off (as if there is still a piece of paper in there). Now, this is not bad unless you are done shredding and the thing is still running.
I was very diligent and opened the bin and compacted the contents when it needed it and I pulled out the full bag of shred before it got too full. Somewhat messy if the plastic bag comes away from the sides of the bin but that did not happen every time. And I figure the benefits of the tiny confetti shred pieces and long run time (I got at least 20 – 30 minutes before I gave it some time off, even though the specs say 10 minutes run time) are well worth any clean up hassle I had to do… WELL WORTH IT.
Anyhow, for me, it was a journey worth taking. I saved at least $ 175 and got a great shredder.
I did not look at any other merchandise there. I probably should have but next time I shlep out there, I will! With just a quick glance, I saw a full warehouse with office supplies, chairs, desks and anything else you could need. Try it — you’ll love it and save a ton of money.

Desks, etc 4 Less has a well stocked selection of overstocked and discounted Office Supply Items.
Today I went in and a poodle greeted me as well as 50 cent binders and post-​its galore.
I was looking for a set of staedtler pens that I bought and loved.
Sadly, I didn’t find them this time around but other deals were to be had.
They have grand opening bins discount bins to peruse and enjoy as well, got some lanyards and ID badge holders that are much need for the hospital.

This place sells discount office supplies which are often the result of overstocks, returns, etc. including desks, chairs, and other office related products.
So why the 3 stars you ask? Well, this place used to be very cheap but lately, you have to be careful what you purchase as they mix things that are worth getting with things that are definitely overpriced.
What to Purchase:
Envelopes, files, hole punchers, staples, and things of that nature since you save on average 50−60% over office depot or staples.
What to Avoid:
Chairs, desks, computer related stuff, pens, and other such things. What I usually do to make sure I am getting a good deal is to scan the product with my Iphone scanner, it usually brings up the price at the retail chains.
All in all, this place used to be the go to place for everything needed in my office. Unfortunately, whether due to ownership change or another reason, now you have to be extra careful what you buy.

The prices are decent. it’s hit or miss. depending on what ya need. the customer service is not as friendly as I prefer… I guess that is what you give up?

This felt like one of those cheapy Chinese shops where they have to tape all their boxes closed because either 1. it had already been opened/​used or 2. they had too much theft. In either case it was much a turn off. The food they were selling was expired. The mats that were only $ 5-​$ 10 were brittle already and I’m just not confident they wouldn’t crack in the first month.
The guy at the counter was nice, but the stock and store just wasn’t cutting it for me. It seems like it’s cheap there but you can actually find better deals elsewhere.

Not nearly as dark as people make it out to be. Got a pretty awesome chair for not too much, but I’m not sold on this place. I’ll probably check out some other places next time, but if I can’t find what I’m looking for, I’ll come back here. It’s pretty good.
For the people that don’t know what the deal is with this place, they sell Staples inventory that has cosmetic damage. And I’m pretty sure that’s it. At least that’s what one of the employees told me.

Clever slogan and they do sell these amazing finds at a low price. My boyfriend and I are both college students and needed some school supplies for cheap. We were tired of purchasing all our school supplies at overpriced stores, so we decided to give Desks, Etc., 4 Less a shot. We thought we hit the jackpot.
The store is located in North Hollywood (next to Game Dude, awesome.). And they are a Office Supply Super-​Store Outlet/​Clearance center. So they get damaged or overstocked items from Staples and sell it at a very low price.
My Boyfriend and I got all our school supplies for under 20 dollars (amazing i know) and decided to get this new comfy office chair for about half the price, if we were to go to any of the bigger office supply chains.
Also, the owner is really nice and very sweet!

some cheap office supplies, some cheap furniture. The furniture is pretty hammered, wouldnt recommend it to anyone. the office supplies are kind of orginized but some is dated, good buys to be found, bring a flashlight, its hard to see inside

This place is amazing. They had a massive selection of office chairs to test, I would estimate over fifty or sixty (far more than you find at Staples!) The chairs are already assembled and ready to go. I got an amazing deal on a Staples Softglide office chair, it was $ 160, but they were offering an additional 15% off, so I got it for $ 135. The price at Staples for the chair (unassembled) is $ 229. That’s almost 50% off. There is a ton of office supplies and office equipment that are super cheap as well. Unbelievable value, a great find in North Hollywood. I will never shop at Staples again!

If you’ve been in LA for awhile you know when it comes to booze, electronics, food, and/​or women; you go to the valley for a cheap deal… and if you want the cheapest you go to NoHO!
The same can be said about office furniture!
This place has name brand office supplies form Staples, Office Depot and the works. I saw an ergonomic chair I paid over $ 200 for last year at one of the chain retailers for $ 140!
The 2 tower file cabinet that goes for over 100 at Staples was there for $ 50. I saw paper shredders for 19.99 and leather couches for $ 90. This place is worth checking out. Oh yeah, desks galore!
Happy boring but cheap shopping.

Worth the visit. My wife and I were on the market for a bookcase. I have a lot of books. So does she.
I found a humungous brand spanking new bookcase for $ 65, originally $ 155. Awesome!
It fits all of our books (not including the ones in the attic, at my mother’s and my in-​laws house, and a duffle bag full that my friend has been holding on to since 2006, of course)
I would absolutely return to buy «office» furniture from here!

If your in the market for office supplies, and want to save some $$$ then you need to check this place out. Parking is a bit tight, but the variety and savings are worth it. Basically, they have everything available at Staples but a 50−75% off retail. Somehow, they purchase scratched/​returned items by the truckload from Staples and resell them at their shop. Funny since their is a real Staples up the street on Sherman Way.
FYI-​If you plan on paying with plastic-​They have a $ 15 minimum required, and don’t take American Express.

Thanks to Richard C’s (2007) review, I was mostly prepared to partake in some retail kung fu. Seeing myself as an obsessive compulsive personality, Richard C did not sugar coat what was to be expected. Parking was as tight as a shrunken girdle. Once inside, as my eyes took some time to adjust to theater-​level darkness. I wondered aloud, «who do I have to @X$% to get some 100 watt bulbs in the overheads?». But it was totally worth it.
While @ Staples yesterday, we purchased a 24X36″ White Board + a Dry Eraser (project board for our condo remodeling phases) $ 65. Prior to returning the White Board (corner pieces were missing), we stopped in Desks, Etc. today and got a 36×48″ board + Dry Eraser with 4 large markers; all for $ 28 !!! Don’t do the math. I’ll do it for you — $ 37 SAVINGS. I’ll say no more. Elvis has left the building.

If you are looking for any standard piece of office furniture or supplies this is the spot to check first. Seriously.
Particularly fantastic selection of Staples and HON metal file cabinets in nearly new condition (and some a little worse for wear) at less than half retail. I got a nearly new 4-​drawer vertical HON file cabinet in black for $ 65. Also a large selection of lateral 4-​drawer file cabinets at $ 150. Staples can’t even sell their own stuff at near that price.
Yeah, it’s dirty and a wee bit scary. But they’re nice and no-​nonsense. You’ll be able to survey the packed warehouse in about 15 minutes and probably find what you’re looking for at a price you’re willing to pay.
