BG’s Big Box Service – Trash & Junk Removal Sylmar

BEWARE of these guys! I used these guys a few years ago and their rates were always reasonable, so I called them for bins for some sod and dirt removal. The first bin we filled and they removed no problem… Then we had a larger second bin brought over. I told them when I called to order the bin that it was SOD and DIRT and they said «no problem, the price is set at $ 315 for the bin no matter what you put in it». When the driver arrived I showed him the pile of what needed to be removed and he said «that is all fine, and as long as you keep the level 1 foot from the top your fine it should all fit and be under weight». Thankfully I have him on video saying this! When they came to remove the bin the driver destroyed our front walkway, driveway and a wall trying to get the bin on his truck! Over $ 3500 in damage! I said nothing to them at the time it just wasn’t worth the drama. Low and behold 6 days after the pick up I get a call from them saying we owe them more money for the «dump fees, because it was SOD not clean dirt»??? I was totally clear with them it was SOD and seriously 6 days later? where was the bin all that time? Anyway, long story short 1 month later we get a bogus fake Lien notice for $ 897.45??? $ 500 moe than what he said we owed him in the first place? Contacted a lawyer and filed a claim against them for the damage to my house… all documented on video! ARUGH I hate people that try to take advantage of people!

Ridiculous.
Worst box dumpster service I’ve ever used as a contractor. Needed 3 yarder box for one day. Specifically was told to call before noon for next day pickup.
One week later, it’s STILL not been removed and every day some new passerby decides to add their trash to it as it sits there.
Can’t wait for them to suggest I owe them for overfilling it.
Or maybe they’ll never come and get it and are hoping I’ll just keep an ugly rusted steel box full of trash on someone’s property.
I will never use them again.

These guys suck! As the boxes were delivered, we were told we could fill them up to 1 foot above (yes, above!) the rim of the container. The driver even called the owner of the company and checked on it in front of us.
When they came to pick it up, we were told we needed to remove 2 feet of dirt, bringing the height of the dirt to 1 foot under the rim. The poor driver felt horrible because he remembered calling the owner and confirming that we were allowed to fill up to a foot above the rim.
They ended up leaving the dumpsters in our driveway. I was able to get the dumpsters down to their new requirements, but spend 2 nights (2 hours each night) after work, shoveling dirt into my driveway.
Not cool!

Ordered a box to be delivered today. Which never arrived. Called this AM and was told they would deliver by 1PM. 2:30 rolls around, no box. I call and talk to a moron who told me his name was Bob and that he was the owner. A very rude dude that didn’t know or care where my box was. My mistake was not checking Unilocal before I tried to do business with these clowns. I would not recommend these clowns to anyone. There are too many reputable business out there that want and need our business!

These guys use a broker (who happens to be on their property and rents all of their boxes) who answers the phone «Local Services» and runs under the name Local Dumpster Rental but they are the same and will lie and extort you for both credit card and cash payments under the threat of leaving the dumpster on your property indefinitely. I am seeing what other claims can be made legally and consumer-​wise but wanted to give the heads up.

Worst customer service, rude, liars. They give bogus excuses when they can’t deliver or pick up their boxes on time or as promised.

I wonder how they haven’t been shut down already! My experience with them went like this: 3 yd delivered with the explicitly stated understanding that tile would fill the bin. No further stipulations offered. Company claimed that the bin was unabled to be picked up because of the angle of the box. They also threatened to charge for extra weight. They even called a contractor with whom I worked to try to get money from him for moving the box. They threatening and agressive while trying to charge for moving the box. Then, they refused to correct the situation or pick up the box. They claimed not to own a forklift or any equipment to move the filled box until it was emptied, turned, then refilled. They refused to return calls from my contractor who tried to offer solutions. They refused to give their license number or the name of their boss. I got 2 calls from the calling center workers who could only offer me information on pricing. I finally hired others to turn the box. I’m still left wondering if they are going to try to charge me for extra weight (even before actually weighing the box). I believe Mr. Bin subcontracted this company. This company also wouldn’t return my calls. You’re foolish to use this company or Mr Bin. Check for a license before renting so you have some leverage.

HORRIBLE SERVICE. They are RUDE!!! (the driver is OK). Every review for this company is absolutely true. They call you 15 minutes before they pick up the dumpster in hopes you aren’t there so they can charge you extra. Who waits all day long at their house to have a dumpster picked up? They won’t give you an approximate time for pick up or deliver. Stay away from this company it will only cost you more in the end. They are THE WORST!!!

My neighbor ordered and Big Box placed a large bin that was parked mostly in front of our house. I called to have it moved closer to my neighbors home and Bob was totally unprofessional and threated me over the phone. Read all of their reviews, it’ll tell you what kind of company it is.

This place is a fraud period. I’ve used them twice now on various occasions. As the other reviewer said, the customer service is terrible (not the drivers, the owner). But, the fraud comes in after they pick up your dumpster. While they sell it to you for a comparatively good price, after they pick it up, they tell you that you went over the limit and have to pay more. This was absolutely impossible in my case — there is no way I went over the limit when my dumpster wasn’t even half full. Of course, I can’t prove them wrong since I wasn’t there when they weighed it, if they weighted it at all. Take your business elsewhere and pay more to begin with than deal with this company and their tactics.

worst, worst service. Cheaper, but no SERVICE OR COURTESY TOWARD THE CUSTOMER. When you call them, you will notice the rudeness and the ignorance in their tone of voice. I ordered a box, when I called for the pick up they demanded a security deposit and since I argued with them I had to pay it in Cash, and if I didn’t pay as they demanded, he said they will dump the trash on my property and take their empty box back. I had no choice than to pay it, two weeks past and no word on my security deposit refund. after numerous calls I received a check which bounced because they did not have sufficient fund in their account.
