The MOI Spine Center in Sycamore/​Dekalb, Illinois, specializes in precisely diagnosing and effectively treating neck pain, low back pain, and other spinal conditions with both conservative and surgical techniques. 95+% of our patients are determined to NOT be surgical candidates, and are treated very well with non-​surgical approaches.

Dr. Chris Faubel the medical director of the MOI Spine Center and is board-​certified in both Physiatry (Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation) and Interventional Spine/​Pain Management.

The MOI Spine team consists of two other physician. Dr. Jacinthe Malalis is an excellent Physiatrist and Dr. Raymond Hwang is a highly skilled and conservative orthopedic spine surgeon.

Established in 2013.

The Midwest Orthopaedic Institute was established in Dekalb County in 1972. In 2013, they opened MOI Spine, a Spine Center of Excellence.

I am the Medical Director of the MOI Spine Center at Midwest Orthopedic Institue. We are happy to provide a comprehensive surgical and non-​surgical «Center of Excellence» for the residents of Sycamore, DeKalb, Rochelle, Sandwich and surrounding communities. Being board-​certified in BOTH Physical Medicine and Interventional Pain Management provides me with the knowledge to diagnose your various causes of neck and back pain (as well as the arm and leg pain, weakness, tingling that sometimes accompanies these conditions). This also gives me the skills to effectively treat these conditions with non-​surgical options. In fact, 90+% of all our patients at MOI Spine never need surgery.
