Dollar Magic

I have been a loyal customer of Dollar Magic for three years, but the customer service I experienced today will mark it my last. I had purchased some plates and napkins for my daughters going off to college party. Once I returned to my car I realized they were not the exact color I was looking for and proceeded back into the store for an exchange. While I am making the exchange I see the owner of the store becoming increasingly annoyed with me, so I say so sorry to be a hassle, hoping to lessen the tension. After the transaction The OWNER proceeds to tell me in a very rude and nasty manner «The né
xt time you come make sure you choose right the first time because you are making our jobs hard. Now we have to restock the shelves and we are not here for you. And we charge a %20 restocking fee!» I couldn’t believe it, over a few plates! He began to argue with me after I told him I should not be hassled over an exchange. Dollar Magic lost a loyal customer today!

This store has the worst customer service ever. My parents went into this store to shop. My father is handicapped and grabbed a cart to go look around. He didn’t find anything and left to go out to the car and my mom checked out behind him. The cashier complained about him using a cart and not buying anything. My mom said, «that was my husband and he has problems walking». The cashier said, «well tell him to get a cane the next time he comes. We only have two carts and they are for buying customers». My mom said, «you are rude and there’s not going to be a next time». The woman told her not to come back. Absolutely amazing. Very disrespectful to handicapped people. Don’t go here unless you want to be treated like shit.

This is not in official Swarthmore, just Swarthmore PO, but technically in that isolated triangle of Springfield south of Swarthmore. I went here to get cheap ziplock style bags and was successful — a box of 50 for $ 1. Not bad when you are buying 8 boxes. The store is pretty shop-​worn but has many many items that you can’t find elsewhere — I found white contact paper here when no one else had it for pretty cheap. Watch the prices because not everything is a dollar. Some things are marked and some aren’t.
