Eat local, EAT NATIVE.

History

Established in 2012.

Native was started by two North Carolina couples who recognized the need for sustainable food practices, and a responsibility that we all share when it comes to our soil, water and air.

Started in the Summer of 2012, Native gave the Swannanoa community a gathering place to celebrate our local culture, breweries, artists and community.

In the past few years, Native has been a stead-fast player in the local community hosting non-profit events like the Swannanoa Invitational (fundraiser for Child Abuse Prevention Services of WNC), as well as other events that assist community organizations.

Meet the Manager

Eden R.

Manager

Native Kitchen and Social Pub of Swannanoa welcomes a new Executive Chef, award-winning Eden Roorda, previously of the Asheville Indigo Hotel.

Chef Eden brings years of experience from cooking in global cultures. Her culinary philosophy is; «to cook inventive, intelligent food based on high quality ingredients that are at the peak of their season and that pay homage to the local culture.» This is a value that greatly resonates with the owners of Native.

Chef Eden is excited to bring her own flavor and experience to the Native kitchen, while maintaining a fun and relaxed atmosphere. She hopes that her current relationships with local farmers and her knowledge of food and food cultures will help her to open minds with seasonal comfort food.

Native is very excited to welcome Chef Eden into the family they’ve developed over the past few years. To stay up-to-date on all the new things happening at Native, head over to nativesocialpub.com and our social channels.
