Went here on the first day of spring when i found out on Facebook they were giving away free italian ice. Had no idea they were here in GA! First time trying Rita’s was on Coney Island. I was one of the first few people as store opened so no lines yet and i had the cherry italian ice. They tried to upsell me and the italian ice was indeed free! It was starting to get hot so it was a nice FREE treat! Will go back next time i go to Suwanee square

After spending some time in downtown Suwanee, stopping here is always nice. Reasonable prices, and their ice is good. Although it does not seem like they promote them very much, their ice cream sandwiches are very good.

What a perfect way to end the day, with a sweet sweet dessert. Rita’s is a reason why I love the Suwanee town park even more, where you can stroll around and enjoy the nice weather, now with a frozen custard in your hand. I was recommended by the worker to try the Gelati with creamy vanilla frozen custard on top of mango Italian Ice. It sounds delicious but tastes even more delicious. I now understand why my friends are obsessed with Rita’s so much. The thick creamy frozen custard and flaky Italian Ice blend in very well, as well as vanilla and mango flavors. Some people say Rita’s can be overpriced depending on what you get, but I think it’s worth every penny. The size of the place is a normal ice cream shop sized, and very well maintained(no sticky tables). There were plenty of seatings inside as well as outside. I’m not sure if they change up the flavors occasionally, but I’m excited to come back and try the other flavors!

It’s annoying when you arrive at a place and it clearly says its opened until 10 pm and they decide to close at 8pm. The two employees looking at us like we were crazy for knocking on the door at 8pm and decide to go ahead and turn off the open sign. In the meantime Yogli Mogli is packed, Because some have been turned away due to your false opening at 10pm. This is a Friday not a school night, I probably won’t have being annoyed any other day.

Ritas is known for their Italian ices. This is a great treat for the summer time. They have numerous different flavors to try from. The flavors are not the same everyday because they are made daily! The custard is either chocolate or vanilla. Ritas offers gelatis which is the ice and the custard. They have mistos which is like an ice shake. The menu also has other options as well, but I’ve only tried the other two. The gelati is my fave. I love the custard and the ice together in its consistency! I love a tart flavor with the vanilla custard! Flavor is amazing! I love sweet and sour. My favorite is the sour patch cherry flavor. If you haven’t had it yet, do so. Ritas is kinda pricey so I wouldn’t say it’s a frequent treat. The regular and the large almost compare in price but the sizing isn’t much of a difference. Let’s just say it’s pricey for what you get. The customer service is always great! Cara the manager is awesome. She is very helpful and passionate about the ices, she really sells it. Interior is very clean all the time. Like I said it’s a great treat for the summer so get one before the close for change of season!

I went to Rita’s expecting frozen custard and we greeted with a sign stating that they will be transitioning to soft serve ice cream due to an egg shortage. Which basically translates to they are not willing to pay the higher prices for eggs. Nowhere else on their website or their store notated the switch. The price was kept the same even though places sell the same quality soft serve ice cream at 1⁄3rd the price. I will not be back until they can serve custard like all of their signage states… custard.

My favorite place to go! The cotton candy gelati with vanilla ice cream is the best! Rita’s never fails me!

Something new and different. Heard about this place for a long time and finally decided to visit after a meal for dessert. Mango gelatin with custard was amazing. I would’ve eaten more had I not been on the diet. I’ve been to many frozen yogurt places, but this one beats them in location, ambiance, and staff. The only reason I’d give it 4 stars is due to long line experienced by having just one staff. In addition, $ 4 – 6 for a cup of shaved ice was a bit pricy for the amount I was getting. If you are ever come by Suwanee, go to the town center and check this place out. Very refreshing treat after day in the park!

Oh my! I really like Rita’s! The italian ices reminds me of my childhood. Very light, slushy almost. The flavors are pretty extensive. The piña colada is so good! The also use real fruits! A definite plus! The creamy frozen custards are one of the best I’ve ever had. It’s very rich, creamy, smooth. Just all in all, delicious! It’s pretty spacious inside, which is nice. The employees are very friendly & very patient with those who have trouble deciding on a flavor. I was very satisfied with my experience. My husband loved his coffee custard, & my daughter and I loved our ices. Overall pleased & would most definitely revisit.

Tried this delicious treat about 2 years ago and I was hooked! My first taste was a Misto with some kind of tropical flavored ice! One sip and I fainted! The next day I went back and tried another Misto with the Swedish Fish flavored ice and I knew I was hooked! Elated that Rita’s has arrived on the West Coast! Please don’t ever, ever, ever go away! Angeleno’s can be fickle but don’t give up! Worth every creamy, cool, sweet calorie!

Great selection and super fun flavors. Perhaps I’m just not a very smart guy but it seems unusually difficult to understand how to order what you want. Clever names, I just don’t know what anything is. I guess I just have to go another dozen times to figure it out :) The kids love it! DK

This was my first visit to Rita’s Italian Ice. I’ve heard many many great things about this place and I was so lucky to have tried it when they were giving out their free ice to people. My sister and I stood in line and it wasn’t a long wait, because the family in front of us let us go in front. They said there were going to be more of them later. So nice of her(I’m guessing she was the children’s mom and guardian). There were so many children and young teens on that day! They let us try different flavors even though there were a lot of people waiting in line. I tried the banana and thought it was pretty good, even though, I don’t like the taste of banana in general. So I got half banana ice and topped it off with mango ice. YUM! I love anything that has mango flavor in it! It was delish!!! They also served weird flavors like peanut butter and cotton candy. I never understood why people would get those flavors. doesn’t it taste ‘strange’ that it is made from ice??? Yes I would definitely come back and try their custard gelati, too. Sounds great!

Several years ago, I tried Rita’s Italian Ice for the very first time. I believe I had the Lemonade-flavored Italian Ice. Although I thought it was decent, I wasn’t blown away by it. Fast forward to last Sunday. I was in the Suwanee Town Center area with a friend and we decided to stop by this location for a frozen treat. After staring at the menu for several minutes and having a tough time deciding what to get, I finally chose a regular-sized Gelati. A Gelati is basically a combination of one flavor of Italian Ice and one flavor of Frozen Custard. At the bottom of the cup is a layer of the Frozen Custard, the middle is Italian Ice, and finally the whole thing is topped with more Frozen Custard. Of course, once I had decided I wanted a Gelati, I had to pick the Italian Ice and Frozen Custard flavors. Decisions, decisions! And I was feeling very indecisive that day. =P Luckily, the employee was happy to let us sample different flavors. I tried both the Mango and Orange Italian Ices. I thought the Orange was way too sweet, but the Mango was perfectly sweetened. I chose the Mango as my Italian Ice and the Vanilla Frozen Custard. It was my first time ever trying frozen custard, and boy was it delicious! At first, I thought it was pretty much like any other soft-serve vanilla ice cream. It turns out that it’s actually thicker, and I quickly realized that there are little bits in it that reminded me of cake crumbs! That’s the only way I can describe it. Haha. But yeah, it is really good. The Mango Italian Ice and Vanilla Frozen Custard combo is A-MA-ZING. =) Overall, Rita’s Ice-Custard-Happiness gets 4.5 stars — for their delightful Gelati and friendly service! I wasn’t as «WOWED» the first time I went to a Rita’s and only got the Italian Ice, but the Gelati is truly good stuff! I’m sad I have to round down to 4 stars, but I can’t quite give 5 stars because I think the regular-sized Gelati is a tad overpriced at $ 4.42, including tax. I could get a lot of self-serve fro-yo for that price, but I’m sure I will return for more Gelati if I’m in the area again! [Review 060 of 366]

Unfortunately there was a long line @ the Suno booth while we were at the Korean festival, so we just walked across the lot to Ritas. It was our first time there and the staff were nice and patient enough to explain all of their different products and offering us samples. I chose the mango and cantalope flavor blended with vanilla custard. It was so good(I’m so proud of myself for picking these two flavors that I’m still high-fiving myself! LOL). The flavors proved to be light, fruity and delicious. Something perfect for a summer afternoon. The place was pretty clean, although I wished that they would have a straw dispenser or a cup of spoons on the counter at the ready for customers instead of always having to wait for a staff member to finish up with a customer and asking them.

This Rita’s location, next to Suwanee City Hall, is the second Rita’s location I’ve visited and I like it better than the location at Midtown Promenade. It’s bigger, newer, and cleaner. Rita’s specializes in a variety of sweet frozen treats and their specialty is Italian ice. It’s similar to sorbet and they offer many different, mostly fruit, flavors. Rita’s uses real fruit and they make their ice desserts fresh daily. Despite the lack of any dairy or cream, the Italian ice desserts are actually quite smooth. Along with typical fruit flavors, they also have special flavors based on candies such as Peeps and Swedish Fish. My favorite flavor is the smores flavor. Friendly service and you can sample as many of the flavors as you want. Their kids size could pass as small at other places and is only two bucks including tax. Rita’s also offers frozen custards and drinks, but I’ve yet to try any.

For me, Rita’s will always be apart of my childhood. For a short time growing up, my family lived in Philadelphia, the birthing place of Rita’s. I would remember going here all the time during the summer. So when the family moved to Atlanta, I never though I would come by a Rita’s ever again. However, I am happy to see that Rita’s are popping up everywhere in GA now. My all time favorite is the Gelati: Cherry and Custard.
