Such a great company that truly takes pride in not only their craftsmanship, but their interaction with the customer throughout the entire process. By far had the most competitive pricing and flexibility in designing/​building. I would recommend talking to these guys first prior to signing with other companies. I’m writing this because they truly deserve the positive review and because I’m a very satisfied customer.

Contacted them for a pool and hardscape quote. Then met up with Carlos 1 week later to go over designs etc. He said he would get a quote back to us after christmas, which was 2 weeks later. He never called so I left a message at the office. No one called me back. Called them again and they gave me Carlo’s cell so I left a message. He called back later that day and said he would have a design and quote ready the next. Of course got nothing back for another 3 days. Called a left a message on his cell again. Now it’s 2 weeks later and still no call back. Would you really trust someone like this to do a big project? I know they have some good reviews, but this was my experience.

Cohl and his team did a great job start to finish. We went through the design stage with three different designs because we kept shifting what we wanted. That was no problem for them. When the time came to pick out exact materials and colors, the whole team came in and helped us put together a great combination. Everything was done on time and on budget, we were delayed a couple of weeks because of our changes, we wanted some additional lighting for our spectacular bar. They said 6 – 8 weeks and it was 8 but would have been 6 had we not made the changes. We had several quotes and I am sure that the other companies could have built good pools, but am very pleased we went with Thunderbird!

We choose Thunderbird because of their prices and excellent customer services. I requested quotes from other companies and they were the better price.
The project was completed on time and ALL of their employees were great throughout the process. From the sales guy to their construction coordinator, everyone provided superb customer service.
Even after our pool was done, we had a lot of questions for the pool maintenance expert, and he has always been helpful in answering all of our questions.
We recommended their services to our new neighboors while they were building the pool and now they are in the process of getting their pool done by them as well.
I would def. recommend this company.

We had a great experience with Thunderbird. We received quotes from 5 pool companies and Thunderbird had one of the most reasonable as well as the nicest sales person. They did not try to upcharge us at all. They were very responsive during the whole process, I have no complaints.

Project was completed on-​time and on-​budget. We still do not have any plants around the pool the photo tells the story. Thunderbird Pools & Spas did a fantastic job.

The best there is! We interviewed several pool companies and talked to countless friends and coworkers about their pool building experiences. We couldn’t find one person who loved their pool builder. We are happy to say we picked a winner! We found Thunderbird by searching the internet, we could not find a bad review and loved their website photos. We scheduled an appt with Les, their designer. Les is wonderful. He is the total opposite of your traditional pool salesman. He took his time in listening to our needs and wants. We had a challenge because we live on a large parcel of land and wanted the pool to be a focal point. He drew a gorgeous design and continued to work with us until we loved both the plan and budget. Once we gave them the go it was so smooth I’m still in awe! Cynthia called every few days to tell me the schedule, when and whom would be in our yard. Every single person was on time and got their job done as scheduled. Our friends and family could not believe the speed and quality of our pool. We’ve been finished about 5 weeks and absolutely love our pool! If your searching for an incredible pool and spa builder please do yourself a favor and call Thunderbird. We will continue to share our recommendation to anyone else looking to build a pool.

Thunderbird Pool and Spa is the best. The owners, Cohl and Lisa, have an incredible team of professionals at Thunderbird. 25 years ago we built our first pool in PA so I had a lot of questions. They answered every one of my questions clearly and in a very patient way. They insist on quality from all their contractors. From excavation, plumbing, ironwork, electrical, masonry, shot-​crete, pebble sheen to tile, if it didn’t meet Thunderbird’s standard of perfection, the contractor was brought back to correct the work.
From the start of excavation on May 6, 2015 until pool/​spa startup June 25, it took 50 calendar days (36 working days). We even passed our County’s final inspection on the first try. Thanks Mark and Lee.

I have been enjoying my new pool since February 25^th and it has been a real pleasure to work with all the Thunderbird Pools crew. Cohl and Lisa are so straightforward, extremely nice people to work with. All the employees are top notch, very professional and when they say they will be there, they show up on time and do the best job possible.
Our pool is gorgeous with a rock wall/​fountain. The Pebble Sheen treatment was very well done and my new Kool deck is perfect.
It has been a painless experience the entire time as I could always count on that company to deliver the best product in the minimum time involved.
They keep you informed of the entire process and I feel that the cost was reasonable, well worth it compared to the big companies in town.
It was thanks to the Unilocal reviews that I decided to go with Thunderbird although they are located at the other side of the Valley from my address. I am so glad I did call them and everyone admires the beautiful pool and deck they provided for our family.
I am grateful to Thunderbird Pools for completely and beautifully transforming the look of the backyard.
From what I hear of other companies I wouldn’t even contact those, just trust that the best possible job will be done by Thunderbird pools and that you are in good hands!

Our new Thunderbird pool has been operational for almost a month and we could not be happier! They made the whole process nearly seamless from the dig to the pebble sheen finish. It has been a year since I had my pool up and running. From the design to all of the services have been rock solid! I wanted to wait for a year before I put my review, because I didn’t want to have to recall my rating and comments. I had chosen Thunderbird Pools because they were the most honest. I don’t have a lot of extra equipment that the other pool companies tried push on me. I have only used one 40lb bucket of chlorine tablets and never shocked my pool. The directions they gave me are easy to follow and I’ve had a consistent water balance the entire year. I called to ask about where I could get a replacement testing solution and they mailed me it. Great service!

Gorgeous pool! Les was great to work with. Other than the monsoons that delayed a few construction days and prematurely filled our pool, everything went smoothly. The reviews are well-​deserved. I know we have a quality pool. Can’t wait until it warms up enough to really use it!

first summer was amazing can’t wait till next summer. On a personal note I want to thank james who any and every time I have a pool question his response time is exceptional. when it comes to customer service he sets the standard and then goes above it. i knew I made the right choice when having thunberbird pools dig me a pool… thanks guys.

Thunderbird Pools is building our pool. Chose them over California, Presidential, and Shasta. We knew nothing about pools. I did a lot of research and asked a lot of questions. I was really concerned about picking the right builder for this is a big investment. We felt like they really knew their stuff and we were in good hands.
Why did we choose Thunderbird Pools? Timely responsiveness, positive communication, listening skills, excited to start the pool but appreciate how they follow the rules on permitting, on top of the schedule even being the busy season. I liked the designs and completed jobs of pools they did on their website and I like how they posted a lot of pools they have built. The ratings on Google and Unilocal and most of all BBB. Almost forgot the price. Huge pool with over 700 sq ft of pavers for less than my neighbors paid for their pool alone.
Most important is their kindness and communication through the process. We always know what is going on. The process is pretty zippy and they communicate to let you know what and when will be happening each week. They do things by the book to protect them and customers from future headaches by doing things the proper way. Someone is always there to answer questions. You are not leaving messages with a front desk waiting for a call to be returned. Many people here to talk to and who are willing to communicate positively. I am just a warm and fuzzy person. I think it is important to be a good customer and most important to be a good company.
The sales is great because their years of experience prevents «rookie» mistakes in the design and function of the pool. They also did not talk negatively about any other builder we shopped with. Sometimes what Suzy says about Sally says more about Suzy than Sally. It is great how everyone here has previous experience with other builders and they still have a great relationship with them. We didn’t have to wait forever to get the salesman out and he designed it on the spot. He followed up with us and he was willing to *listen to our needs and make changes for us to customize it for our needs happily.
Pavers looked great but Thunderbird is much more thorough, so today they had the paving contractors come out to correct things they saw. The clean up was quite a clean up. Not only did they clean, they regraded our yard much better than it was before. They also removed the plastic, ply wood and excess dirt we personally put in to protect our existing pavers, that was so helpful!
Our pool is now complete. It only took 4 weeks to build. Everything went smooth as it could be. Definitely would recommend them. They even have great support after pool is complete. There is a gentleman on call who you can call 2 4 7 for any question or issues on pool maintenance. It is not a gimmick, the guy actually answers and returns your calls in a timely manner. When it is time to maintain the filter they come out and walk you through how to do it. It does cost for normal pool maintenance if they do it for you. We are very happy happy happy.

Thunderbird Pools is definitely better than the big pool companies like Paddock and Shasta.
–Estimate was very straight forward. I told them what I wanted and he gave me an estimate for the work. All the other pool companies kept trying to sell me up and telling me how I needed this and that.
–Estimate was equal if not cheaper
–Didn’t charge extra for doing simple things like removing the diving board and bolts that was no longer needed after remodel (other pool companies wanted an extra $ 200 just to do that!)
–Work was done quickly and on time
–Had some issues with the pool light but they fixed in a good manner

We attempted to get quotes from Paddock and Shasta pools. No response. We did get quotes from Thunderbird, Presidential, Tribal waters and Cameo pools. Only Tribal and Thunderbird pools really understood what we really wanted. In the end we met with Les and toured some of their work by real homeowners. The quality and craftsmanship was by far superior and made our simple. We told them what we wanted and they came through. Yesterday we had our final meeting with them. It was a bitter sweet goodbye. We
will miss Lisa and Cohl because they are genuinely wonderful and professional people. If you go anywhere else, you have gone the wrong direction. Short version: If you have anyone but Cohl build your pool, you are crazy.
Long version: We talked with a number of smaller builders and the two big guys. We went way down the road with The Biggest Guys and were actually close to signing up when they threw us yet another curve and then we had had enough. We feel like we dodged a major bullet after meeting Cohl, who we found on Unilocal.It took many weeks to get a design done with The Biggest Guys and they demanded meetings and did not like using email. Cohl had 95% of our pool design done on his computer during our FIRST meeting at our house and he incorporated a number of GREAT design ideas that we had not thought of. Pricing was very competitive and included all the state of the art, very cool options without us having to negotiate for them, which was a good thing because I was not even aware of a lot of these goodies, even after talking to all the other builders. We discovered there were a lot of preferred design specs and options that were never discussed with us by the other guys and Cohl had them all included in his base price. WOW! It would have been easy to take advantage of us but Cohl was looking out for us from the start. Dealing directly with the builder and taking the salesman out of the loop makes a BIG difference. The entire build process was smooth and the communication from them was unbelievably good. We always knew what was happening next and all the subs actually showed up exactly when we were told they would. Unlike every other contractor we seem to deal with these days, they showed up, did quality work and did everything they said they would do. There were a couple times when Cohl made the subs redo minor issues when he did not think it was up to his standards. No one complained. They just made everything perfect. If you do your homework and really check out the other builders, you will appreciate what Cohl does even more. Don’t buy into the Biggest Guy’s warranty BS. Go talk to some people with their pools and you will discover why it does not mean that much. Cohl and this family business offer stellar customer service, straight talk and no BS and deliver exactly what they promise. I am VERY picky and notice everything. I can honestly say my pool is as close to perfect as you can get and the entire experience from start to finish was problem free. I have been in the real estate business for 35 years. These guys are as good as it gets. I wish all the other contractors I do business with were like Cohl.
