AAMCO Transmission And Auto Repair

I can’t say just how refreshing it is to deal with a shop that is honest, knowledgeable, quick, and professional. The location may be difficult, but it’s 2016, your smart phone will get you there. Ron is a great guy, and very knowledgeable, he also runs a clean and professional crew. The techs are helpful and experienced, and more than happy to answer questions. I had to get a pretty extensive amount of work done, in order to fix what another shop had messed up (Firestone), Ron got me right in and made my truck a priority. They made a loyal customer out of me.

Ron is running the most honest shop I’ve been to. I initially called in for an estimate on clutch replacement as I figured this was most likely what I needed as the truck which seemed to be a little off to me. He did his best to quote with the information I provided and offered up his free inspection if I could drop it off or schedule an appt so I could wait for the inspection. I dropped the truck off fully expecting that a clutch or some sort of work would be needed. To my surprise he called back and advised that the truck seemed to operate as would be expected for its age and he couldn’t find any repairs that were needed at the time. He could have easily recommended some sort of recommended repairs as preventative and made some money. Because of his honesty I will certainly return for any work in the future and recommend anyone to his shop.

** DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE**. We had our vehicle towed to this location to have the transmission looked at. They advised us that 99% of the time the transmission could be rebuilt for $ 2900.00. My husband received a phone call back from Ron Krzyzewski that told us it would be $ 4500.00 to fix. He advised us that the mounts were broken and the axle was broken on the vehicle as well. At the time that this happened with the car my husband also lost his job. I called Ron and asked him why there was such a huge price jump, he was nothing but rude to me. I advised him of the situation we were under, and told him that we only had the $ 3500 in cash to get this fixed. He then advised me that they could do the transmission for the $ 3500 out the door but the mounts and the axle wouldn’t be fixed. We agreed to get them fixed. The day that the work was completed, we then received a phone call from Ron stating the vehicle was done and that we also owed a $ 56.00 towing fee. I called him again and advised him that it was to be $ 3500.00 out the door and no additional charges and that is what we agreed on and he signed off on. The tow bill was to be covered by our insurance company, which again they failed to mention that at the beginning of the transaction. Again, we are on one income here and only $ 3500 in cash to use on this. Ron advised me I can with pay it in full or leave my vehicle there until I can pay it. He hung up on me numerous times, and I advised him that I was reporting him to corporate and I will make sure the reviews are made on that location, He advised that this was a threat and he told me that he would not accept my debit card as payment and that he would only accept cash from us. He would not tell me the reason why on the phone, but when we picked the vehicle up he advised my husband after he threw the keys at him across the counter that they were afraid I was going to stop payment on the card. We are not dishonest people, obviously Ron is as well as the franchise owner Mike Andrews. We got a hold of Mike Andrews as well, he said he would talk to Ron and get back to me and he NEVER did. In fact I was told by his Scottsdale facility that he wouldn’t even answer there calls if they tried to call him and have him call me. Needless to say. This facility and its owner, and employees. is Horrible. I wouldn’t trust them at all. There customer service is horrendous and they don’t give a crap about there customers.

First off, the location of this AAMCO sucks. It’s very easy to pass up. They are located behind a Framecraft store. Basically have no convenient customer parking.
My Experience with this AAMCO:
My car has a check engine light on and is give a P0741 code which has to do with the Torque Converter Solenoid. I called AAMCO and told them the code I was getting asked if I could swing in after work and get it checked out and was told that they would need the car for at least 4 hours to check out the transmission. So I made an appointment to drop my car off at 1pm the following Tuesday.
I got off work early and dropped off my car at noon. Around 4:19pm I had not heard from the shop, so I called in. Ron answered, told me that they were busy and had not gotten to my car yet but would soon and would give me a call after they checked out the car.
Ron called me back at 4:48, told me that the Transmission needs to come out of the vehicle. I asked him why and was told it was because my transmission fluid was burnt and they need to inspect the extent of the damage. I told Ron that I had just checked the fluid the day before and it wasn’t burnt. Ron told me that it wasn’t the worst transmission fluid he’s seen but definitely has a burnt odor. I told Ron thanks, and that I was going to get a second opinion.
When I picked up my car I asked Ron for a time and cost estimate for what he was suggesting. Ron told me that it would be a 4-​day process and while he couldn’t tell me the cost until after they got into it and checked it all out, it would be safe to expect $ 2,000.
When they told me they would need my car for 4 hours, I figured that was for test drive, running a diagnostic, checking pressures and solenoid performance, and maybe even get under the car. Apparently it was just for a dipstick pull. I was very disappointed that no real diagnostic was performed, and that even though I scheduled the appointment for 1pm, they did not look at it until sometime after 4:19pm, and had I not called, possibly would have not looked at my vehicle at all.

We had our van’s transmission rebuilt and some brake work done. Ron and the team are thorough and I feel do a quality job at a reasonable price. I would return for future mechanical needs. Overall, I trust these guys not to rip me off.

I own 2000 Honda Accord 3.0 V6 last week check engine Light came on, I stop by this place, they check it and find out P0401 code and need to clean up, Mr. Ron Mgr.He is very friendly and very experience guy told me we can fix it, and they did. I am very happy for this job and keep coming back to this place. They took half top of my engine and clean there and they showed me, last than 2 hours it is awesome job, Thank you again all of you guys

This is the summary of my review: Can I give NO stars? Hubby’s car was not blowing cold air so we printed an online coupon for Aamco to get an AC recharge. The Aamco people called after having the car half a day and said we needed a new compressor and new hoses for a total of about $ 1300. We declined the repairs and took the car to our real mechanic in Peoria. He told us our compressor is fine and all we needed was new hoses. $ 655 and a couple days later (after ordering parts) we had our car back. Thank you HANS for saving us almost $ 700. We’ll never go to Aamco again, even for routine maintenance.

My Acura hit 30K miles recently… could not believe the price the dealership was going to charge me for the recommended maintenance and service that was needed! I had a friend who recently took their car in to AAMCO in Surprise and had good luck, so I thought I would see if AAMCO could get me a better price, on the same services. They absolutely did!!! I left my car with them for the day and they took care of all my required maintenance and service for my Acura MDX at a fraction of the cost the dealership was going to charge me. I was impressed with the customer service Ron the manager gave me and how I got in for an appt quickly.
