History

Established in 1994.

The property has always been a Family Motor Inn. It was built in 1960 and was then called the «Silver Sands» Motel.

The current owners purchased the property in 1994 and changed the name to the «Loggerhead Inn». Being a North Carolina Family, they have maintained affordability and comfort since taking over the business.

The name was derived from the Loggerhead Turtles that nest each spring along all of the Atlantic Coast (Including this Island).

As it has always been since the 60’s, the Inn is the working family’s vacation get away. You will find a clean, comfortable room at a fair price.

Meet the Manager

Tony O.

Manager

Tony is our resident Manager of 6 years. He is a retired enlisted Marine and has been in and around the coastal North Carolina area since 1985. Since coming to work for the Wamsley /​Resnick Owner Group, our manager has made improvements to the property and the buildings his priority.

Each Fall and spring you will hear the sounds of remodeling and renovations, that are required to maintain property that is 53 years old.

Tony has kept the Inn operating year round, by including the availability of monthly rental in the late fall through early spring months. You can be sure that you will always find him either cleaning the pool, tending to the landscape, or grilling a steak outside in the summer.
