Babies R Us

I will never shop here again. They fraudulently got me to sign up for a credit card and then offered me the worst customer service I have ever received in my life. If I could give them negative stars I would.

I was exchanging a swing I got from my baby shower off my registry. And i knew they didn’t have this item in stock at the store so I would have to order a new one and I really wanted the same swing (the first one I got the wires were messed up)
when I was at babies r us it just seemed like the staff was so unhelpful and clueless about ordering another one for me. so they gave me a gift card and said to order it online (I guess she wanted me to do that at home or something) so I asked if they could order it for me since I was there already. I wanted the swing shipped to the store cause I know it’s faster and I’ve done shipping to my house and it takes forever to get there… they called a manager she was just very lazy/​rude like I was bothering her and she kept saying we can’t ship this item to the store which is a lie cause the first person who bought it for me got it shipped to the store in 2 days I was heated and didn’t feel like arguing plus I’m 9 months pregnant. so I got it shipped to my place I don’t wanna go back to babies r us anyways. Buy Buy Baby is way better with a much more caring staff that listens!

Do yourself a favor… do not come here. It’s like 20 miles of stuff squished into one square mile of store. It’s awful. Like so packed… I felt like a sardine. NOW, let me get to the best part (note my sarcasm).the employees. Not only are they incredibly not helpful, they are also completely oblivious to their own policies and programs. These employees are rude and just all-​around ick. Drive the extra 10 miles north and go to the one on Mopac/​Braker …trust me.

I’ve been coming here for the last 6 months. Service is hit or miss. Since I’m familiar with a few of the employees that makes up for the lack of service. I have gotten very excellent service and at times just the finger point to the back of the store. One example of great service I’ve gotten was when I had to drop about $ 1500 on baby items. It probably took me 2 hours to complete the task, however I was helped with coupons, product demonstrations, and even getting my stuff carried to the car. I love the return policy, because one time I was even able to return a bath tub in which the batteries happened to leak after I had discarded the box. I would recommend this store vs. Buy Buy Baby for instance across the street, because you get more savings shopping at Babies R Us. One thing to note even the store address is in Sunset Valley they still charge for bags. The other stores in Sunset Valley give bags for free. This always sucks because diaper boxes and baby toys rarely fits in you reusable grocery bag.

This place is a giant vending machine for baby shower gift registries. Don’t expect to get help from knowledgeable staff, especially on the weekend. I was looking for burp cloths and asked an employee and she responded, «Well, I know where the wash cloths are…»
I’m not sure how they are with gift registries because I’ve never had one here.

I really want to like this store. They do occasionally have good deals on pouches of baby food, HOWEVER every single time I go in there, I leave angry. The one manager is really helpful and must be one of the most patient people alive to be able to manage/​deal with the group of rude losers who work there. An employee once argued with me about the price of an item. When I walked back to the area it was located in with him an was indeed correct, he had the nerve to say, «I guess I should have believed you, I just like to argue.» What!!! You just like to argue? With the customer? You are in customer service, people. This store needs an overhaul in pretty much every imaginable way (except for the friendly manager, he really is nice).

As a new mom, I thought Babies R Us would be a safe place where I could venture out with my newborn to find all the baby items I need (but didn’t think to buy before LO got here) and still be able to breastfeed when needed (we are still figuring out this breastfeeding thing). In other words, I thought it would be a place that caters to new parents. I like the idea that they have a private breastfeeding room — good idea in theory — but at this store it is disgusting. There is a diaper changing station in the breastfeeding room and so there were diapers strewn all over (because the diaper pail that was provided was full).
In the bathroom, there is a diaper changing station, but no place to set a diaper bag (something that a place that specializes in babies should probably think about). The belt was broken, so no way to strap baby down. And no liners either. The bathroom had no toilet paper, no paper towels, and no soap. While I was in the bathroom, a staff person came in to do the hourly bathroom check — she just marked on the back of the door that she had checked it, but didn’t do anything to clean it or restock supplies. I had to call after her on her way out the door to tell her that there was no toilet paper, no paper towels, and no soap. Do your job, geez! I just changed a diaper for crying out loud — I need to be able to wash my hands!

I despise this store and have no idea why anyone would come here instead of Buy Buy Baby. A few things.
1) This store is unbelievably depressing. It’s just the vibe.
2) People are not helpful.
3) The last time I was there, a small child demanded that I get out of the glider he wanted to sit in. I was 9 months pregnant. His dad laughed it off, stood there until I got up, and then praised his son for waiting his turn. Why would I want to shop with people like that?
4) Their furniture is of lower quality than the stuff at Buy Buy Baby. Lower quality, yes, but not necessarily lower price. That pretty much sums up the store in general.

Advantages over Buy Buy Baby:
better stroller, swings, exersaucers, and bouncer displays.
Also, I was gifted BRU gift certificates yet none for BBB.
Disadvantages:
The store feels cluttered.
I rarely can find what I want without much wandering or staff assistence.
A poor selection of baby gear and toys under $ 70.
They don’t have display models of boxed toys (i.e. mobiles).

I only drive out here when I have a lot of baby stuff to buy and a coupon book in hand as their prices typically run $ 2 – 3 more than HEB or Target.
Their selection is really great on newborn essentials (I have 3 kids from 1 – 5 years) and they rarely are out of stock on any of the essentials I need.
Unfortunately, the past few times I’ve gone I’ve noticed things are going downhill as far as the store maintenance is concerned and the staff attentiveness at check out. I really hope it gets better as this relatively new store is starting to seem quite run down, the staff not very motivated or friendly and the deals not as great as they once were.
I’ve also had some issues with misleading coupons, so check your coupons carefully before making the trip out there (being in Sunset Valley, it is probably somewhat of a trek for most).
Crossing my fingers the kinks get worked on and corporate gets consistent with the coupons (a recent coupon book claimed that the coupons ran from such and such date to another date, but the coupons inside the book all had different start dates that began after the front of the coupon book).

I am normally apprehensive about visiting new stores when I get used to location and staff at other locations. This time, i was right. There are 3 cashiers at the front customer service center talking when I enter, not one of them welcomed me to the store, so I proceed to the front Registry area. I sit for about 5 – 10 minutes before getting up and interrupting the talking to ask if anyone is working the registry desk. A friendly male came over with items in his arms and didn’t acknowledge that he was going to help me, then got up and walked away. Puzzled, I remained sitting waiting for someone to help me. He returned with another lady coworker, he was unable to log in, now I get a «Welcome to Babies R Us.» I began asking questions about a few items and about the registry process, etc. He was unable to answer anything specific. I didn’t bother with it, I will return to my comfort zone store another day to get my questions answered, but quite annoying that I couldn’t get answered here. After shopping, I return to the registry desk to return the scanner, and again, all 3 – 4 employees are talking away, but do have 1 – 2 customers waiting to pay. I patiently wait for someone to help me close my registry, about 10 minutes goes by before I have to ask for help again, and the response is «Did you need help?» No, I’m asking for help for my health. A different person came to assist closing my registry for this trip, she was informative, although I could barely understand her slang. At this point, I just want to go home. Exhausted and upset, I will NOT be returning to this store EVER again. The worst thing, the store was no where near busy, and the lack of communication and customer service skills definitely turned me away from returning in the future.

My friend did the nicest thing for me. She knew I was having trouble bringing myself to setting foot inside of these stores. It’s not because I’m not excited to get a whole bunch of new sh*t for my baby, it’s because I don’t know WHAT sh*t to buy for my baby. This is where my friend came to the rescue.
When you first go in, they have a very nice reception area where you can sign up for a registry. After about a 10 minute sign up, they give you a scanner and away you go.
It took us about an hour to get through the whole store to register for the essentials, and I was pleased.
The only negative I would say is that their prices seem to be about 10%-25% more expensive than Amazon. Otherwise, I think they are running a good operation here.

if you are pregnant– DO NOT do your registry at babies r us!!! they are incompetent people and their customer service SUCKS! and just to note: we registered at target as well, and only 3– yes 3 items were bought for us from babies r us. that means everyone else knows how much they suck too. being first time parents, we were wandering around the store confused and knew nothing about breast pumps or strollers. and not one person walked by to see if we had questions or needed help (which we did). and we were there for probably an hour too. the store is ghetto, we’ve had tons of problems getting the crib we ordered there. the whole «order now and receive in 7 – 14 days» is a complete lie. more like 3 weeks, and we shall see if that even proves to be true. every time you call you are transferred to several people who always answer your holding call as if it’s new each time. it’s like they put you on hold and just leave you there until someone else sees that someone has been holding and picks up the phone– «how may I help you?» each time. except they too put you on hold and do that same thing. they’re idiots, save yourself time and frustration and go to buy buy baby. those people are friendly, and they actually do their job. boo on babies r us. they are gross. terrible, terrible business. they need to just shut the door and call it quits!

Although I’ve got two nephews whom I loooove, until recently I was unaquainted with the Babies R’us stores. I knew they existed, but as a single gal. I havent really had the need of going into one. Now that my niece has been born, I find myself wanting to buy her stuff! (She’s going to be so spoiled!) I actually went with my sister, mom, brother and friend to Babies r’us to buy a few things for the baby. Surprisingly enough, I found out that there is a lot of stuff to see there. We played around with the display balls, sat on the maternity chairs (which, if I may add are super comfortable!!) and enjoyed touching soft baby blankets. I ended up buying some baby wipes and a cute little hat for the baby and also some stuff for myself (wont say what though! lol). It seems to me that I am a fan, and by the looks of it. so will the baby! =0}

Normally I hate baby shopping but after a bad experience with the Target registry, I pulled into this place. The people there couldn’t have been more helpful. I had so many people asking if I needed help finding anything, even making sure the registry worked! It was by far the best baby gear shopping experience I’ve had. The got a cart for me and a personal shopper so I could wrap up my shopping fast. Would definitely go back.

A huge star loss from my previous review. As most of my followers know I gotta kid nicknamed Little Rooster. He is two and a half and the wife and I are starting to feel comfortable nudging him into potty training. We’ve waited possibly a bit longer than others because we wanted him to understand what we were doing. His vocabulary has recently exploded so in our minds he might comprehend our intentions.
The wife had already picked out all the gear we needed at
. Today after lunch at Tarka just down the strip; we decided to see if we could save some time by picking it all up here. We started our stroll and found the potty chairs after a few minutes. Nice selection and they had the Baby Bjorn like my wife wanted. It was $ 9 more than the internet; but you remember that whole time thing… Next it was underwear, pull-​ups, and books for the adults as well as the kid. Yes, Ol’ Rooster needs a book. I’ve never done anything like this. Memories of little kids from 80’s and 90’s sitcoms rattling around in my head and that’s all I got.
We circled the entire store twice looking for any kind of potty training books. «Its right over here; wait over there?» The staff had no clue nor did they have any books. How about underwear? «I don’t know where that is; let me ask another associate.» Did the training class just let out? Three staff members I talked to started this morning! BRU did have some Diego undies; but the wife had picked out a thicker style to simulate a diaper online. You be shocked to know they were way cheaper than Babies R Us.
I think little Rooster is still a um, baby. One staff member said «I know they have it at Toys R Us. That really doesn’t help us right now. Pull up diapers and potty chairs aren’t a toy or at least that’s what I’ve been telling the boy. So we ended up ditching the entire cart and are waiting for everything we will need that will arrive in a box in a few days. Free shipping and a book for me; hope its got pictures.

Man, I hate these stores.
BabiesRUs is the Walmart of baby gear. One time I walked in and asked a dude where the diaper pails were. He didn’t know. Srsly?
The employees are often unhelpful and often rude. They charge more than their competitors so the sales look better than they actually are. They carry a lot of crap.
If you need standard baby stuff in Sunset Valley, try their competitor across the street. So. Much. Better.

Love it the clothes was so cute the newborn clothes was so cute, the price are reasonable and a very good selection.
It is a one stop place they even had detergent as well as cleaning supplies diapers galore and children’s furniture some were very pricey as they are real wood which is great very well made. toys were into age groups I will be back soon.
