Strathmore Bagels & Deli

Really bad, surprised because their place in Wellington is very good. Bagels not really fresh, and ordering was difficult. Never had such a hard time ordering a bagel and lox.

Their hamburgers are homemade. They have great coffee. The waitresses are friendly. They make you feel comfortable with chit chat and recommendations. They will even have the cook make homemade potato chips instead of fries for you.

WOW, this was one of my worst restaurant experiences in my life. I expected so much more from the Strathmore name since they originated from my hometown on Long Island. What a huge disappointment. Since we wound up walking out, we ended up at another local restaurant where I had one of the best breakfasts of my life. I’ll save that experience for another review, but check out Ally’s Comfort Café in the mean time. Simply perfect in every way.
I arrived anticipating a NY style bagel place, and was quite surprised when our server handed us both a regular menu and also their new Brazilian menu. Red flag maybe? Although I enjoy Brazilian food very much, I tried to play it safe. I figured how bad can they screw up eggs. So that’s what I ordered, probably the simplest thing on the menu, scrambled eggs.
The menus were sticky. They looked and felt like they were never wiped down. Then I noticed the sweet n low wasn’t even the real stuff, just some generic off name brand that I never heard of. Maybe another red flag? My sister could not drink her coffee, she said it was not good.
My scrambled eggs came out with cheese. I did not order cheese in my eggs. The home fries were not fully cooked and had a greenish tint to them. My sister didn’t like her eggs and potatoes either. We ordered an order of french toast to share and that arrived burnt. We decided to leave since nothing looked appealing and we allready had the taste of uncooked potatoes in our mouths. We were both truly disgusted at this point.
I asked for the manager and was told they did not have one. After sitting at our table for a few minutes our server finially decided to pay us a visit. Rude and argumentative are two words I feel comfortable using to describe her personality.
I can not recommend this Strathmore location. Everything from the food to the service to the cleanliness of the restaurant was horrible, it truly was.
The best part of my experience at Strathmore was walking out the door. I know that sounds extremely snarky but it is the truth.

I found this place while dong my internship at a nearby nursing home… I have only come in for breakfast and all I can say is WOW… The food is excellent and it has that home made feel and taste… Everything is fresh and the service is quick… And it has one of the best tasting coffees I think I have ever tried… I sure will miss this place once I’m done with my internship.

Found this place on accident and I am glad that we did. Had the biscuits and gravy special. It was really good. Lots of food at a good price. The waitress was very friendly as well. Didn’t have to wait in line on a Sunday morning which was a plus.

I see that there are no recent reviews for this place and I can only think that is because no one is eating there… or they are doing as we are told when we are kids «if you don’t have anything nice to say don’t say anything at all».
Me & two others went in late December. We sat ourselves as told to do after standing there for 3 – 5 minutes. A Bus boy brought us drinks. There were only 3 tables filled up, the server appeared to wander aimlessly. She did not even look at us. We started to watch her every move… hoping she’d feel our eyes on her. She did not. But what we did see was her pick up sliced tomatoes with her fingers and place them on a plate to bring to one of the other tables. WITH HER FINGERS!
Promptly we left…
I will never go back…

GREAT food and fast service. The wait staff treat you like family. Love this place!

This place isnt bad to grab some breakfast. I just wish i saw the staff using gloves or wax paper while grabbing my bagels and whicle cutting them.
