Business Owner

I grew up in Oakland and attended Berkeley High School. When a student at Bard College I became interested in California agribusiness and that lead me to my interest and passion in sustainable farming.

After graduating from college and taking some time off I was accepted as an apprentice in UC Santa Cruz’s Apprenticeship in Horticulture Program which was established in 1967.

Before starting Bluma Flower Farm I was the manager of the farm at Slide Ranch in Muir Beach.

My flower farm is in the agricultural park in Sunol where a dozen other farmers grow organic fruit, vegetables and flowers.

My flowers are grown from organic seed and all compost and fertilizer is organic. I do not use any fungicides or pesticides.

I love farming and I love knowing that my method of farming is good for the environment.

I like knowing that my flowers are bringing nature and joy into people’s lives.
