If I could give this ER zero stars I would. I walked into the ER not feeling well and needed to be seen. The receptionist at the intake window said, «What do you want?» REALLY? I should have just turned around and left right then and there. But I went ahead and signed in, they took my license and insurance card and had me go sit down and wait until I was called back for Triage. After 45 minutes of waiting for Triage, I finally got up to go see when I would be called back. I stood at the window for at least 10 – 15 minutes only to be told, «You’ll have to wait, we have other patients.»
I had enough. I left and sought care at Presbyterian Hospital in Rockwall. I was able to walk in, be Triaged and was in a room within 10 minutes.
Do not seek treatment here unless you have no other choice. They truly just don’t care at all.

Today, Sep, 5 2015 I had an MRI at T.R.M.C. I have to say the this medical center (emergency) and MRI, LAB, ADMITTING were very much together. Great service, quick and professional. Having an MRI is not a big deal — Joel, the technician just made it a lot easier by taking me through the process. This is the kind of teamwork that rewards a 5 star rating. This place is a joke!
My husband (30 yr. old) had an incident where he lost the ability to speak suddenly and was experiencing loss of vision. I googled his symptoms and it looks like he was having a mild stroke or heart attack, so I rushed him to this emergency room and told them what was going on. We sat in the waiting room, with NO ONE ELSE WAITING, for a ridiculous amount of time (especially considering what he was being brought in for!). When he was finally taken back, they did basic test like «who is the president», «what day is it», etc. and he was answering some incorrectly! It took them several hours before they even took him in for imaging. There was nothing on the scan (of course by then any abnormality could have gone away if it was a temporary loss of blood to the brain or something). They gave him aspirin and discharged/​diagnosed him with CONFUSION! Are you frigin kidding me?!? They had no idea what was wrong with him but didn’t even care to try to find out. They just told him «you should probably go see a neurologist». Umm… okay, we will get right on that and hopefully not die of a more serious attack while we are waiting to get into a specialist.
I will never go here or recommend anyone to go here.

The WORST emergency room I’ve ever been in. Triage was minimal to nil. «Go wait in the waiting room and we’ll call you.» I had to ASK for a wheelchair, which was only given grudgingly (mumbling negatively about having to go get one), even though the triage nurse admitted that he could see that my husband was dizzy, disoriented, sweating, trembling, and in severe pain.
When my husband asked for some water, the same nurse pointed to a drinking fountain so far down the hall that I could barely see it — certainly too far for my husband to have to go. I had to leave him alone, in agony in the wheelchair in the waiting room to walk down to the drinking fountain. Guess what? no cups. I had to BUY a $ 2 bottle of water.
We waited for more than two hours before the nurse came out and actually told everyone waiting that they should go to some OTHER emergency room because TRMC was full! They even have the nerve to have a huge sign up in the waiting room advertizing a «no-​wait» waiting room — Seriously!
I work in a major hospital (too far to drive in an emergency), and I hope to god we never treat patients like this. When I asked whether I should just drive him the three miles back home and call an ambulance, the nurse said that it wouldn’t matter, that they would just «dump him off back here «into the same situation.
With all the symptoms of a heart attack or stroke in a 65-​year-​old man, they showed no compassion or urgency whatsoever. In fact, there were three women standing behind the glass window in the ER leaning against the counters/​sitting, drinking soda, and talking. When I went up to the glass and asked how long it would be before my husband could be seen even for triage, one just shrugged her shoulders and said she didn’t know and that they were busy… then shut the window and went back to talking (NOT working, on the computer or phone, and not doing paperwork — just talking and laughing).
For the record, we are fully and well insured for this hospital.
No matter what happens, I will go ANYWHERE else but here or call an ambulance. Even days later I’m completely disgusted by the «treatment» received at TRMC. I have initiated a grievance with the state. NO ONE should be treated this way in an emergency situation where minutes can make the difference.

We have a 94 year old relative currently being mistreated in this facility. She was brought in last night and mis-​diagnosed. Today Nana was needing to go to the bathroom, we went outside her room for help and hateful Misty RN was who we got. She told me that Nana could get up by herself (never mind the IV). Then she told Nana to stop whining or she’d let her pee in her diaper. The quality of care here is beyond poor. I wouldn’t even give you one star but it wouldn’t let me write without one. After writing this review I was advised by a caregiver that Misty RN’s treatment of Nana is elder abuse and should be reported to Adult Protective Services. If she treats the elderly this way with witnesses what does she do to people who have no one in the room with them?

This hospital emergency room is small so it fills up fast. However the care here is AWESOME the nurses doctors and techs all are very caring and courteous. They take time to LISTEN to you about your health conditions. I would
Highly recommend coming to
TRMC Sunnyvale over any where else in Mesquite. To help avoid waiting long time in lobby, you can check in online.

TERRIBLE EMERGENCY ROOM. I almost had a miscarriage and had to go to a different emergency room because of the long wait. Not to mention there were about three other people waiting. waited over two hours.
I had to deliver my baby here at the women’s center and the nurse was terrible right off the bat. I told her I wanted to have a different nurse and I was going to leave if they kept acting so unprofessional. Who has an attitude with a woman in labor???
It was clean and there was a good nurse in recovery but I still have a very bad taste in my mouth.
Presby in Rockwall will treat you like an actual person and there isn’t a long wait if you have an emergency.

If I could give them a zero, I would!
Incredibly, Terribly slow! TERRIBLE bedside manners. And this year, I’ve frequented multiple hospitals. This was the worse. I’ve seen the doctor once in the 10 hours I’ve been here. He came in for 10 secs. Flipped through some charts. Looked up once and then walked out.
My mom came here because she couldn’t breathe.
After she was admitted, they ran a couple of tests. Missing the big ones. Finally decided to run another test that could tell us if she had pneumonia… Almost 9 hrs later! Oh and after she already had steroid shots. So by that time, they might have missed something.
They wanted to dismiss my mom until she crashed again and then they decided to keep her. Only then running some more tests but taking about 2 – 3 hours to get to us. You barely even see the nurses to ask or get anything.
In the end. They had no idea what was wrong and said she had a panic attack. My mom who her family know is very calm and nothing can faze her and has been through a lot more hell in her past having a panic attack when life is great?! STFU if you have no idea what you’re talking about!!!
Oh, on top of not knowing what was wrong with her, they pumped her with IV antibiotics, even though they just said she had a panic attack.
This place makes us soo mad!!! This was one of those times where we were so disgusted with a place.
And I only saw the doctor that one time for 10 secs for the 3 days we were here.

Parkland would’ve been a lot faster taking vitals! They took an hour and a half JUST for vitals! That was even after I told them my daughter was getting dehydrated (carried in) fever 103, body trembling and blood in stool!
Then the triage nurse tells me that it was going to be a long time before Dr actually sees her.
In case of any (esp dying emergency) — I do not recommend you coming here!!!

Always weird to write a review of a hospital. It’s never a «great experience» when you have to be there-​but they can make the process less painful. Texas Regional did just that for me.
I was transported there by Mesquite FD-​and was glad that I picked it over Dallas Regional in Mesquite. The nurses-​especially the charge nurse-​were fantastic and really concerned. They brought my wife and son drinks and made sure that they were almost as comfortable as myself.
The Dr was also very personable and asked all the right questions. He was quick to get me the medicines I was needing at the moment, and scripts for what I would need longer term.
I cannot judge the individual rooms as I was in the hallway the whole time– I don’t hold this against the hospital though, as it seemed to be more a product of all the ambulances in the surrounding areas bringing people here as opposed to other facilities.
The only disconcerting part of the visit was having to deal with the financial office and make my arrangements out in front of everyone.
I hope to not need the services of a hospital for a very long time-​but if I do I will most certainly head here.

My husband was taken by Mesquite FD to this hospital’s ER for blood pressure problems. I was a little put off when they told me to wait because they were getting him set up, and I couldn’t even see my son who was with him. I had a seat in their larger than expected, comfortable waiting area. (worth 4 stars) I sat there for maybe two minutes and was taken to a gurney in the hallway. (This should be against HIPPA regulations, but EVERY hospital does it. I would normally rank this at a 1 or 2 star, but it seemed to actually increase the quality of care since it was right next to the nurses’ station)
This hospital is VERY small for serving the area it does. (2 ½ stars) There is not a hospital in Mesquite worth it’s weight in poo, so people living in Mesquite and Sunnyvale go here.(4 stars) The paramedics suggested it over Mesquite Community. (5 stars) I would not send my enemies to Mesquite Community; but that is a different review.
My husband’s doctor was nice and seemed to be very knowledgeable. He wanted to be sure of the medications he was on (with dosing instructions) before giving him any other meds. He also stressed to him what I always do– the meds won’t work just sitting on the counter! (5 stars)
The nurses were all very personable. The male nurse that took care of US (not just my husband, but got drinks and made sure my son and I were comfortable) was very knowledgeable and efficient in all of his duties. I could tell why he was the charge nurse.
The professionalism and personal touch is definitely a 5 star rating. As I stated before, there are areas that I felt needed work.

This building is state of the art as mentioned in my review of the inpatient portion. Its less than a year old and spotless. *though they STILL don’t have wi-​fi*
In the waiting room you have semi comfortable seating and a large flatscreen TV mounted on the wall. You won’t be watching the flatscreen though because the people watching in an ER is ridiculously awesome (if at times depressing, worrying, uncomfortable, or hilarious). There was enough seating that my mom and I (and later, a myriad of my friends) could sit together, and far enough from people that were *really* (read=dying) sick.
The triage nurse was as pleasant as a papsmear. She had a look in her eyes that said «fuck you, I have graveyard shift on Thanksgiving». Whatevs. I think I urged a smile out of her as I constantly made funny (?) comments due to my flighty mental state.
Ms. Papsmear warned me that the wait that night would long. From my experience as an ER patient before, I knew that long could mean 6 hours. She explained that they have 6 rooms, and two are dedicated to ambulance and the death-​on-​a-​cracker types, and the rest were currently full. With a line of sickies ahead of me.
Whatevs, I wanted my problem fixed that night!
By the time my third friend showed up for support and Ms. Pap called me back, only two hours had gone by. I was expecting worse, but with the current ads I’ve seen from 19 ER waits, I guess its pretty shitty.
Anyway– cut to me sitting in a dark room watching Psych, waiting again, this time on a doctor. A nice, more personable lady has administered liquids into my non-​existent veins and I’m relaxing comfortably.
Doc comes in, is nice enough, but is obviously more concerned with the dying patients in other rooms. Fair enough.
He requests some blood tests (anemia anyone?), decides I’m fine, and discharges (ha, ew) me for the night.
sign out was a breeze and all in all it was a ok experience (in an ER take that for what its worth.)
