Rewind Pest Control

I moved into an apartment and the landlord was unwilling to take care of any bugs beyond setting small roach hotels, etc. I don’t think I had a huge problem with roaches, but I had found a few in the bedroom closet. I mostly had seen lots of silverfish and a black widow spider. Those were the worst offenders. There were also a number of other unidentified bugs and many small and large daddy long legs spiders.
I called around to a few places, and Rewind seemed the most friendly over the phone. It was very easy to setup a day and time with Matt. He came over and scoped the place, and he spent nearly 2hrs unscrewing the power outlets to spray inside and spraying all along the walls, and other corners of the apartment. He was very careful and meticulous. Overall he was a friendly and knowledgable person, very good with the customer service side of things. I thought I may also have heard some mice, and he took a long time looking behind the refrigerator, dishwasher and other appliances and placing baits. He even came back a second time to ensure he had placed the baits properly, etc.
He mentioned that he guarantees that I would not see any live bugs for the next 60 days, and that was true — I didn’t see any for that period. I found a few spiders, but they were dead, which was fine. He recommended that the products would work for roughly 4 – 6 months, though I live in an apartment built in the 70s, in a very wooded/​dense area, so I’m assuming that’s just an average.
I hired Rewind on October 1, and I think the product worked for a solid 2.5 months. Again, I think if I was in a newer apartment, it would probably last longer. I should also mention that I don’t keep the place as clean/​organized as I probably should, and that could contribute to the few bugs that I began finding in the past 2 weeks. It’s been about 3 months and a few days since the initial pest control application, and I’m very satisfied with the effectiveness during this time period.
I think considering an effective period of about 2 – 3 months, the price is reasonable, and I’m quite satisfied with the service. I would highly recommend Rewind to others in the area.

Matt is awesome! He scheduled for my availability and he is right on time! He covered holes on the walls and setup some traps for mice at his first visit. He came back for the second visit and caught some of them. He took time to explain details where he found droppings and where possibly mice came from.

Our house had a terrible ant problem for that past year until about a month ago when we called in the service. We had tried over the counter bug sprays and ant traps in our best effort to take care of the problem ourselves to no avail. We would see ants crawling around everywhere. Food could not be left out and alone for more than 30 minutes or they’d be all over it.
I gave Matt a call and he seemed to have a pretty flexible schedule but made it clear that he had a family matter to attend to that coming Saturday. He ended up coming early the next day. When we came he sprayed around the house, the base boards and the crawl space, and placed dabs of this ant poison gel in places throughout the house. He requested a flat fee of $ 120 for his services which came with a 30 day warranty, which he actually extended to 60 days for us because he wasn’t sure the job would keep out ants if they were coming from homes adjacent to ours as we live in a town home.
Matt was personable and apparently he did a great job. Hitting two months now and we haven’t seen a single ant.

What we liked:
Matt called us back after normal business hours, he was friendly, his price was reasonable, we were able to make an appointment within a few days, he was done with our house in ~2 hours, he answered our questions (mostly about safety of chemicals since we have small kids), he came back a couple weeks later free of charge because we had some hard headed ants that wouldn’t go away.

Having ants and spiders was annoying, but when I also started noticing several black widows on my property, I had to go into action. I got quotes from two highly rated companies. Matt quoted me less than half the price of the other company, with the bonus of a promise to return in 60 days if the problem was not taken care of.
He scheduled with me for the time that I wanted on short notice, was prompt, thorough and efficient, and shared with me details about the problem and his process that showed depth of understanding of what he was doing. Ie: explaining the types of spiders, which spray he was using and why and how they react to it, the nuances of dealing with ants v.s. spiders, etc.

We have had ant problems for past few months, in the past we were able to use the bug spray from local hardware shops and the ants would stay away from 6 – 8 months. But recently our ants had gotten used to our bug spray or mutated or something, they kept coming back over and over, even when we switched the spray with a different compound. After being very fed up, I called up Rewind Pest Control and talked to Matt. He was great, he arrived on time, and did the work with great care and courtesy. He covered all the areas, inside, outside and in the crawl space. He seems to have good insight and knows his bugs! The ant whisperer!

I tried Rewind Pest Control of El Sobrante through Amazon local deal. Matt did a thorough job and is a good company to use for on call or scheduled pest control. I used to have a scheduled service that came one every 2 months but that became too expensive and unnecessary for me. I plan to call on Matt about twice a year.

Matt was excellent. He arrived on time for both the initial inspection and subsequent appointments, was very thorough, courteous and was just all around nice guy! We were having some rodent issues. We called Rewind Pest Control for a basic treatment around the perimetor of our house. We were having ant problems and came accross this Groupon for spraying inside and out of our house. Matt was very helpful. He scheduled the appointment promtly and showed up punctually for the service. While there, he answered questions about the chemicals being okay for pets and even how often to have our house sprayed without pressure of making another appointment right on the spot.
I would reccomend Rewind Pest Control if you need any kind of pest problem to be taken care of.

Overall great experience. Had a flea issue in every room in the house and haven’t seen one since. Also includes a warranty. Will use again next season.

I highly recommend Rewind Pest Control. My sister used Matt in El Cerrito and recommended him to me. Matt gave me an appointment quickly, showed up on time, explained every detail to me carefully, and did an excellent job of spraying my property, inside and out, to control for ants, fleas and silver fish. I had been waiting a little to see how well the spray treatment worked… and then forgot to write this review. It’s been 3 months now, and I happily forgot all about our ant problem. Not a single one in sight inside our house, even when it rained last week, which seemed to always bring them out in the past. Matt was easy-​going and accommodating with the scheduling. He worked fast, and (I now know) very efficiently. I couldn’t be happier with my lack of ants.

I called Rewind because a squirrel fell down my chimney and was freaking out and possibly injured, and my cats were glued to the glass doors in front of the fireplace as if it were the season finale of Tasty Prey TV.
I tried 5 or 6 different companies in the East Bay and most were not picking up, even though they claimed to be open on Saturdays. Matt not only answered, but scheduled a time right away and was here within an hour.
Wildlife calls aren’t his specialty, but Matt gamely tried several means of persuasion to get the squirrel to move on.
I can’t quite give 5 stars because we weren’t 100% sure the squirrel was gone at the time he left. (Since then, the fireplace has been quiet and completely uninteresting to the cats, so I’m pretty sure the critter found his way outside.)
Matt was friendly, prompt and reasonably priced, though, so I’d gladly call him again if I had a more complex pest problem.

Rewind Pest Control was effective and a pleasure to work with. Matt was very professional, knowledgable, efficient and effective. I really like that he did not require a yearly contract or pressure me into one to perform services. I was having spider problems due to our backyard and patio being ripped up and redone. This prompted a lot of activity from spiders that would normally not have been an issue. I was happy that he was able to do a one time treatment without the pressure to have a contract when the issue really was isolated and not a recurring issue. The two large companies I called both required a yearly contract (about $ 90 every two months) just to treat my current and isolated issue.

We had Matt from Rewind Pest Control come out to check things out in, under, above and around the house. The temperature’s dropping and critters are going to try to find shelter so we were concerned about any areas they might breach the home-​front.
Matt was on time, very professional, crawled under the house and wrote up a report before leaving. He seemed very knowledgeable and thorough. I wouldn’t hesitate to use Rewind again.
