Good variety but very bad customer service! When asked for discount, the attendant replies «should we give it for free?»! Not coming back again for sure!

PNG jewelers have good designs and services on their products. I am associated with them from years.
They are also very supportive in selfless donations to local non profit organizations one of which I volunteer for. it has been always great to be associated with them.
Not all jewelers in bay area have quality products and the will to support their community as well.

I went there for the first time, this place is an average when it comes to inventory but there customer service is good. The lady who helped me today picking up a ring for my wife showed me different options and was really friendly. I was in and out in 15 min. For me the experience was good and I will be back for future purchases.

Very Un-​Professional. They allow for bargaining at the store. They wouldn’t disclose their price over the phone even if I am living far away and its too inconvenient for me to physically visit their store. They also push you too hard to buy their product. Also, they charge more than other jewelry stores in the Bay area. I called a couple other stores and got an average asking price of $ 47/​gram, when the raw gold price was $ 37. And they were charging $ 48.
However, they have a good variety of jewelry designs which is why I’m giving them 2 stars.

This new sales guy manjeet/​harjeet or whatever was this guy’s name killed it really.
First you don’t comment on a customer ! That’s customer service 101
Then you don’t get frustrated because the customer asks you get stuff of variety just because the box is stacked below and you have to bend to pick it god sake we are paying and we want to pick what we like.
And the tip of iceberg is if you don’t like this line of customer service quit it please get out of this place you ruined our experience and mine which PNJ held form the day I was born in india to here.

PNG Jewelers is great! Their staff is very friendly and whenever I go in there with a vague idea of what I want, I come out getting exactly what I wanted but so much better. Everyone who works there is very patient, which is great for an indecisive person like me :)
Would I come back? Yes!

When it first opened years ago, all seemed well, but now this store is likely to close soon, the way they are operating, you can feel it the moment you enter. With today’s gold price, who are they fooling? They asked for $ 70 per gram, when the price per oz is $ 1555, even if you add making charge of 6% to the product, this would be highway robbery. Go with your research. They no longer have quality or variety products, not to mention the attitude of the staff.

The one star is for very poor customer service. They missed giving me an important document with the jewelry, one that should be ready when the customer is purchasing something. Instead, I had to wait one month to get it. I had to call many times, remind them and go to the store a few times. Unpleasant experience.

Please don’t buy diamond jewelry her. I have bunch of jewelry from other places and don’t have any problem; but P & G jewelers mangalsutra necklaces breaks down every time even if I wear just for few days.
Last time they repaired it for free, but this time different guy there and he is charging. Last time’s uncle said, no charge since we bought from them; but this fellow is different. What will I do? After this repair, again it will break in few days, it won’t have any resell value too.
I won’t be going there ever for jewelry.

The gold jewellery is priced almost double to the today’s gold price. Today’s International gold rate is $ 52 (
), but this place charged me $ 90 per gram for gold ring (I had checked price for most of the rings displayed, with all the rings having the same high price rate per gram).
For a similar gold ring, the making charge should be around 6% back in India, but here they charged me 90% of the value of the gold. This just doesn’t make sense. I still went ahead and brought the ring because, my wife had insisted not to return without something made of gold since it was «Akshaya Tritiya» day.

This place takes the cake for attitude and lousy customer service. I went there today since its a festival a lot of Indians buy jewelry and metal coins. Arrived to find a long line to buy silver and gold coins but was reassured by a notice upfront that listed the religions silver coins I was looking for as available. 15 minutes later the line advanced enough for me to view the checkout cashier and what do I see a sign listing all the silver religious coins as sold out. When I asked the cashier why they had put a sign a sign that stated otherwise at the entrance and made people wait– he did not apologize or even offer to change the defective sign. He simply yelled at me and asked why I did not read the sign at the checkout was completely blocked by waiting people. I guess their modus operandi is to lure on in in the hope that folks will buy something-​even if it is not what they came for. Disgusted by this lack of customer service I walked out and drove further down on El Camino to find what I was looking for at another jewelry store. Next time I’ll spare myself the trouble of visiting PNG

Extremely unsatisfied.
I went to buy gold and when I asked on the phone, I was told the price 1395. I asked them to keep one coin aside and I immediately drove there. When I asked again on the counter, they bumped up the price to 1410 and when I reached actual counter the price was 1420.
Now within 30 minutes, market does not fluctuate this much. Their strategy is to get you there and once you are there, you dont have choice to go back and forth.
Also, if you are not aware of pure gold in the jewelery, they mix up large amount of base metals in the jewelery to bring down the cost (You think they give you discount??). I had verified one of the jewelery with one of the other jewelers and he revealed the shocking truth.
Also, behavior of the owner is extremely humilated. I would never go there again!

A lot of hype was created when the shop opened, but frankly I am disappointed.
Go somewhere else next time.

The place is good for its service… the owner and most of the sales/​demo people are well mannered, patient and willing to show the jwellery and give good opinions on how it suites the customer etc etc. A good and fair place to buy indian jwellery.

The nicest people you’ll ever meet. Also extremely knowledgeable about their craft.
Nearly every other jeweler I visited was arrogant, clueless, or in a few unfortunate instances, both. but these guys are very friendly they provide very excellent service, i did lots of shoping from here now onwards i dont want to go in other jewellers. their prices are very reasonable too, I will definitely come back because I have found a jeweler I can trust.thanks.

Indians only buy 24-​karat gold jewelry. Everything is 100% solid gold here, no plating, no alloys. And the Indian designs are exquisite, like what one sees in royal museums.
I first found out about this chain when I was in India on assignment. It is like the Tiffany’s of that country and the Gadgil family (the G in PNG) have been jewelers to Indian royalty for several hundred years. I also learned that almost a third of the world’s gold supply adorns the beautiful women on India. They are crazy for solid gold!
This place also sells pure gold coins and biscuits if you are looking to put something away in a safe to hedge against the coming inflation.

DoTheBob also has something to say about flowers but since this is a review of a jewelry store we’ll leave the flower discussion to another time.
So last Saturday DoTheBob had just finished lunch at the Panda Express when he noticed PNG Jewelry next door had recently opened. Hoping to score a unique gift with which to surprise a certain someone «just because», DoTheBob walks through the front door, through the lobby, and is quickly stymied by the securely locked SECOND glass door.
As images from the Far Side cartoon of the kid trying to push open a door marked PULL come to mind, a buzzer sounded and the door unlocked with a audible «click». Wow, thought DoTheBob, there must be some good stuff beyond the door!
He was not disappointed.
After being buzzed in, DoTheBob was greeted by twin rows of display cases along both walls, stretching to the back of the store. To the left sat the security desk where the smiling hostess bid him welcome and explained the layout: «Diamonds on the near side,» she indicated with a wave of her arm, «silver on the far side toward the back, and gold toward the front.» The organized layout agreed with DoTheBob’s logical mind!
The store is staffed by an all-​Indian crew, and the theme continued with the merchandise. In all three sections (diamond, silver and gold) there were the traditional rings, necklaces, and earrings. But each section also offered unusual (by Western standard) jewelry typically found only in India.
For example, in the gold section there was a beautiful, wide gold bracelet capped in the center with a large ruby and flanked by smaller rubies. A nice red-​and-​gold combination! The smiling rep at the counter explained that this was called a «monkey cap» and was an armlet traditionally worn by Indian women on the upper arm. A cultural lesson free with every ring you buy!
In addition to the beautiful, and interesting, merchandise, the price was also very attractive. For example, there was a nice pair of silver pendant earrings tipped with large black pearls for only $ 85. Silver-​and-​black. Any Raider fans with long-​suffering football widows? Raiderettes anyone?
Talking with Rajendra the owner revealed that PNG is a well-​established jewelry brand in India, purveyors of jewelry to some of the most distinguished families and royalties there, and this Sunnyvale store is their first excursion into the California market.
Four stars mean «Yay! I’m a fan» and between the interesting inventory and nice prices it’s an easy four star. The final star depends on a successful and happy purchase. DoTheBob looks forward to the day when he completes a transaction there and hopefully give the fifth star.
