Plug & Play Tech Center

Great facility, right in the heart of Downtown Palo Alto. We really liked the location, close to Stanford, easy and quick walk to all the Caltrain bullet trains, surrounded by coffee shops and restaurants, ultra safe, and right on University Ave, but the Palo Alto building is closing in October 2015, leaving University Ave. Executive Suites (next door to Plug and Play Palo Alto) as the most affordable (at least for downtown Palo Alto) downtown Palo Alto office space.

This is a great place if you have a startup. The conference rooms are nice and the atmosphere is very professional. It is centrally located and close enough to the airport. I recommend.

This place is so me. how did they know what I exactly want in a plug and play center. Attended a Baytek hackathon here. The place is very clean with a quiet terrace where you can soak some sun. There is a cafeteria and plenty of rooms. Several posters and flags all over the place giving it a lively feeling. And a huge Buddha at the entrance smiling at you. This place is much better equipped than Hacker Dojo in Mountain View.

Pros: Close to 101, climate control, lots of parking, cool giant Buddha, close to gym, international startup area is neat
Cons: Staff at front desk have a weird entitled vibe, NO WINDOWS on the top floor, bathrooms are dark, outdated and run out of toilet paper, café food is expensive and overly fancy and not good (salads are fine), not walkable to any good lunch options, hideous landscaping with butchered trees, chairs are poor quality, internet connection is bad and expensive, they charge for badges and conference rooms, loud conferences with booming base throughout the building one or more times per week, no social events to get startups to meet each other in the building, coffee cups and creamer frequently run out, constant tours in the office clogging the hallways
Overall, this is a good place for a temporary 2 – 3 person startup setup but you outgrow it pretty quick. It’s a business, not an office, so be prepared to be squeezed for every little thing.

Nice idea, and I’d been here before to get their pitch. It’s really a great idea, although I wonder at the actual effectiveness, and how many startups don’t make it with them. Still, I don’t really want to be in the South Bay.
That said, I wasn’t there for that, but rather an Internet of Thursdays talk on Internet of Things. The facilities are really nice, with a large conference room, and great outside area attached to the café.
Pizza was provided — but non-​vegan (yes, I know it was nominally free) — but still I was hoping for a bit more enlightenment from such a place. Thankfully I’d chosen to eat before coming, since I had suspected that. Beer too, but it was Stella and Heinekin. Fail there too for quality of beer.
Would be interesting to check out the café sometime, but overall not a compelling place for me.

Never received reply from real estate business relationship manager to my july 31 email. I called today august 18 and he apologized.
For 24×7 access to any available desk is $ 450 per month.
Hacker Dojo is $ 125 per month granted the amenities are probably less.

Small academic start up – connected with NASA/​Ames (nearby) need space for 2 astronomy/​internet engineers, max speed internet. Contacted the «Real Estate Business Relationship Manager» of PnP after showing up at the front desk asking for info. Sorry, no body is here to talk to you brush off. Someone will call you. OK… we are in town for a few days. Sent email to «Manager» same day…5 days later: «Oh sorry, I’ve been busy. Looks like your startup doesn’t fit our profile.’ [he had a biz card from my other company]. Responded, no no, we have some funding from NASA, looking for office space and investors. Can you set something up in a few days??? We’re traveling. 10 days later, nothing. Never even got in to see the place. #FAIL

What I love about the PnP is the food in cafeteria. The guys are super helpful, will advice what to choose, combine the main plate as you wish (I’m always asking for less rice/​potatoes and more veggies what never was a problem), food tastes good and price is decent. The only turn off — cafeteria is open from 11:30 to 2pm, so late lunch eaters won’t be happy :)

The right place where grow your startup

1. Charging station for electric vehicles out in the front parking lot — +1 (ample parking in side and back lot)
2. Free starbucks coffee brewed all day — +1 (peet’s coffee available for purchase on 2^nd floor)
3. Friendly staff at front desk — +1 (always courteous, professional and make an effort to greet visitors; the custodians here are extremely kind as well)
4. Hosts free events — +1 (great way to network and they always seem to have free food & beverages)
5. Upstairs cafeteria — +1 (GELATO BARS? Amazing. And, they have a rewards system for their chef specials.)

Good place for presentations. I’ve been here a couple times for tech meetups, although there is a higher then desirable frequency of remote control/​lighting snafus. But overall, a good place for 50+ people to meet.

The cafeteria here is great. Specially because there is only one restaurant within the walking distance!!! Jackie and her staff are also awesome and helpful.
My issues with this place was the noise and the price for a tiny cubicle! At times it would get so noisy, you had to leave to get any work done. We were shocked when we moved and compared the prices of offices nearby. We have a door!
They do have plenty of conference rooms but you only get certain number of hours a month; after that they start charging you! The internet is not free either, and when there was an event, forget it – it would not work.
On the positive note, even though a lot of companies do not show up and many cubicles stay empty (probably because of the noise), there is a lot of positive energy and nice people to talk to.

One of the startups I worked for was in this space. It’s basically the Iranian mafia startup incubator. They own a few other locales in PA, RWC, too. They’ve got their own server room space, some outsourced IT, and you shared physical locality with a ton of other companies. I believe they generally negotiate a piece of your business too unless you haggle otherwise. In some cases it’s cool to have a shared provided for resource, but as you grow it becomes constraining. They have a cafeteria up top and a decent locale. So if you’re a small fry company trying to jumpstart your idea, it’s one place where you can get that done

Our company is growing so fast that they needed to put some of the sales team here. What i like is the amenities that they offer — free starbucks coffee from 8−5p, great staff. Not so happy about — when my company sent them the layout and how many cubes we needed, some where bigger than the other (WHY?), the bathrooms are outdated, and there seems to be no cups or creamer when needed for the coffee.
The café here is prettttty awesome, they have a salad bar and fresh warm meals to buy everyday from 11 – 2 which is totally helpful when you can’t leave the building.
OVERALL: ill be back tomorrow for work!

Friendly staff, I like the pasta, it was very good; you can also ask for the bowl so it looks bigger. There is also the salad bar /​sandwich option if you want a healthier approach. I’ve enjoyed talking to the chefs. Also seen phở offered too.

If you are new (and not so new) in Silicon Valley, entrepreneur, starting your business/​start-​up, Plug and Play Tech Center in Sunnyvale is the place to be.
They’ve got everything you need to succeed, amazing building/​working space, expertise, connections, networking events, mentors available, VCs, Expos, Camps, food, the list goes on and on. Saeed Amidi and his team really put together an awesome concept of a business accelerator/​talent incubator.
Hands down!!!

I look forward to the ‘specials’ o the day… always fresh, tasty and a rage of dishes to please the vegetarians to carnivores. Chefs are always friendly and happy to accommodate any special requests. And a fresh and full salad bar is always a nice back-​up option!

This review is for the Plug & Play Café on the 2^nd floor. Chorizo burger was yum, but a bit too messy to eat and talk without making a mess. Café is open 11:30am-2pm, café counter in the eating area is open 8am-​5pm. The PnP Café WiFi requires a password so no free WiFi for work or last minute demos. Feels like a cross between a corporate silicon valley cafeteria and a university cafeteria. Nice large outdoor deck for events or for those wanting fresh air.

This place is not beatable for the startup that wants to get up and running with all the support systems in place. Network, mail, excellent onsite restaurant, socials, meetings with VCs, the list goes on. Attm I forget the owner/​founder name, but he is definitely a pure SV rock star. I admire what he’s done and the excellent team he built up to keep the quality of this operation consistent over the years.
Silicon Valley is great because of entrepreneurs like him and his team. Visitor groups come from around the world to tour this particular building where many famous startups were initialized.

Plenty of start-​ups in one building and I can see why. Plenty of conference rooms to use for meetings and lots of snacks at the front reception =)
The team meetings are productive here.
I went to the cafeteria once and I went cereal crazy there… just kept eating cereal =)
