Dr. Rodgin has been in private practice for 27 years. He has done post-​graduate work in therapeutics and the treatment and management of eye dieaese at U.C. Berkeley. He treats eye infections, ocular inflamation, and allergies, and LASIK co-​management. Dr. Rodgin is the recipient of the prestigous America’s Top Optometrists award for 2006 – 2013 given by the consumer’s research council of America.

Dr. Rodgin is a graduate of the New York College of Optometry. Dr. Rodgin has been in private practice for 27 years. He has done post-​graduate work in therapeutics and the treatment and management of eye dieaese at U.C. Berkeley. He treats eye infections, ocular inflamation, and allergies, and LASIK co-​management. Dr. Rodgin is the recipient of the prestigous America’s Top Optometrists award of 2006, 2007, and 2008,2009,2010 and 2011 given by the consumer’s research council of America. Dr. Rodgin was just awarded «The Best Of Sunnyvale Award» by the United States Commerce Association. He has a very large contact lens practice and has been the first to do test trials of new contact lenses.Dr.Rodgin has recieved an award from Johnson and Johnson recognizing him for fitting the most bifocal lenses in Northern California. Dr. Rodgin specializes in fitting contacts on patients with difficult requirements.

My whole family has been going to Dr. Rodgin for many years. We are all very happy with
his service. He’s always right on with the vision. He’s very friendly and cares about helping us.
I had very dry eyes and he recommended a specialist to help with this problem and my eyes

I have been going to Dr Rodgin for 20 years after I was referred to him by the top ophthalmologist at Stanford. He’s very knowledgeable, easy to get along with, and does a great job getting my prescription just right. I also like that he gives you your presciption so you can buy your contacts where they’re cheapest – Other doctors try to force you to order through them.

Best Optician in the area. I switched insurance a couple of years back and had to visit a different highly rated optician in Sunnyvale, I came back here since getting new insurance.
Don’t let the office fool you, the contrast is staggering. Dr. Rodgin is incredibly friendly and patient, he explained everything and even helped me understand the tests he was doing on my eyes. After extensive testing and making sure he got it just right he gave me the right prescription. He even walked me through how to get the best deal on contacts and glasses per my insurance’s coverage. As it turns out my previous optician had given me the wrong one, probably due to the hurry he was in during all of my eye exams. I wouldn’t trust any other doctor with my vision.

I went to Dr. Rodgin when my previous doctor was completely unable to find a prescription that worked for me although I’d been with her for years. It was so bad I didn’t know how I’d past DVM. Dr. Rodgin came up with solutions so I can see long distance, the computer and reading! What a difference!
I appreciate Dr. Rodgins professionalism. He is very thorough checking my eye health, concerning himself with a family history of macular degeneration and cataracts. He listens well to any concerns and has had me checked more thoroughly for regina problems when I had some very persistent floaters that were bothering me. His hours are patient friendly and its easy to make an appointment. I never wait and his staff has been very helpful with frames selection and repair. My husband recommended that I go to Dr. Rodgin and we both trust him with our eyesight. Office is convenient to get to. So happy to have him looking after us!

I’ve been going to Optivision and seeing Dr. Henry Rodgin for many years. I just recently had an appointment with him to get new glasses. I have very special frames called Minimas. I got my original frame from him a long time ago. i have another pair of Minimas for reading too. So far I haven’t found anyone other optical place that can work on these frames. I get so many compliments on these frames. Optivision is the best. My glasses came out great, and he even made a couple of tweaks on my reading and sunglasses for me. The staff is professional, while being very personable. I go to the office, even though it’s a distance from my house, because I’ve had such great care there. I highly recommend Optivision and Dr. Henry Rodgin.

Horrible experience!
Ordered the frames with lenses at the Henry Rodgin’s office. Haven’t used them right after I got them, as I was away for business trip and unfortunately I left them at home. Once I started using them I guess because of the coating for which I paid 170 $ I experienced so much discomfort that I noticed my vision got becoming worse. The problem was in the ‘Anti-​Reflective Coat Polycarbonate’ Lens Enhancements. Whenever I looked to my right or left — I saw everything in red. The worst I put them first time before driving — luckily I came to work safe, but that was the only luck I had with the glasses!
Finally I went to the doctor’s office and asked him to do something about the problem. He started convincing me that the problem is in my poor vision. I told him this is not my first glasses, but this is the first time I had such problem, so the I pointed out that the problem is not in my vision. Then he said that not everyone notices this issue in the lenses (so he knew about the problem, but still prescribed me these lenses, which cost me money).
When I said that I’ll go to the court and prove the lenses caused problems with my health he said that he’ll pay for the lenses from his pocket and he’ll return me the glasses with the basic lenses!!! But I paid 170 $ for the Enhancements, which btw hasn’t been reimbursed after!!!
Is it considered to be the service I deserved for the total amount (exam + frames + lenses) — $ 672.00?!

Dr Rodgin is a great eye dr. He’s professional, friendly, flexible and works with his patients’ specific needs. I was a patient for years, but when I moved I decided to find someone closer to me. I ended up coming back to Dr Rodgin because I felt he was worth the extra drive for good service. Also, he works with top quality specialists. When I had a torn retina one year he sent me to a very good dr who fixed me right up. Definitely recommend him.

I have been seeing Dr Rodgin for almost 30 years, he has always had the best temperament, equipment, and staff of any Optometrist I have used. YES Costco may be cheaper, but they are not going to learn your name and like and dislikes, nor call you to make sure everything is ok, like he has done when I had eye problems. I have always had the staff call when my glasses and contacts are ready. Normally within 1 week. If you don’t like or want a happy, smiling, caring professional, you can always go find someone else.

I’ve been going to see Dr Rodgin for over 10 years. I’ve never had a finer optometrist, and I’m always very happy with my prescription. When I first went I had a desire to have 3 sets of glasses for different uses and he very patiently listened to me prattle on about myself, then he did exactly as I asked. He never tries to up sell you on frames and he always give you the attention you need. I like how he keeps up on the industry, has new equipment, and is interested in supplements and other health options to improve one’s vision.
In addition to the professional level of his service, I find him to be friendly and I always enjoy our time visiting together.

Dr. Rodgin is terrific. I’ve been wearing contacts and glasses for 20+ years now. I have gone to a lot of optometrists in that time and been told by more than one that my eyes are beyond their abilities. Dr. Rodgin has the latest tools to precisely measure eyes and the skills to fit me with outstanding eyewear. Even when I moved out of the area (5 years in DC), I would be sure to make an appointment with Dr. Rodgin when back in the bay area.

Dr. Rodgin has been our family eye doctor for several years now. We switched to Dr. Rodgin from a popular chain of optometrists and opticians. Every time Dr. Rodin takes his time to understand and address our concerns and questions — very professionally and in a personable manner. The best we like in Dr. Rodgin is the importance he gives for what we feel — not just relying on his instruments. This is especially true with our kids — since our kids felt more comfortable with slightly lower prescription. I personally think Dr. Rodgin is a geek (and being one makes it more appealing), and he was never hesitant to share details about his new toys. Especially, the recent gadget he had let him take a picture of my retina without requiring dilation!
Dr.Rodgin’s staff is courteous and helpful in scheduling appointments and helping to get right pair of glasses. The only drawback with Dr. Rodgin’s office is the limited window of his office hours — which makes it hard to visit him after or before work hours.

Not impressed. Went for a contact lens exam — the doctor was nice & all, nothing special.
Called today to get my prescription transferred to Costco and boy did I encounter some attitude. Doesn’t look like I’ll be headed back.
As a side note, if you don’t LOVE the smell of indian food — this is NOT the place for you. Since it’s right next door to an indian grocer, the place REEKS of spices. Not what everyone wants to smell during an eye exam or when picking out glasses.
