When you become a patient in our practice you will observe our use of digital xray systems, soft tissue laser technologies, Cerec (single visit crown procedures), oral video imaging, quieter electronic handpieces, digital photography, ultrasonics, flat panel monitors in each operatory, personal MP3 units, email and text messaging of appointment reminders and much more. This is all done to provide you with the most efficient quality care and to enhance your dental experience in a comfortable setting.

History

Established in 1974.

Dr, Budak started his practice in Sunnyvale as an associate under the tutelage of his two senior partners. His dental facility was expanded in 1989 to its present location at the Serra Park Health Center, with 4 operatories overlooking the beautiful Serra Park. His team includes two registered dental assistants, two registered dental hygienists, and two practice administrators. We enjoy all aspects of our dental practice and take the greatest joy in delivering world class dentistry to our loyal patients. Dr. Budak, after almost 38 years in practice still likes coming to work every day.

Business Owner

Born and raised in San Francisco, Dr. Mo Budak graduated from Lowell High School before attending Cal. He received a bachelors degree in Cellular Physiology from Berkeley, and then proceeded to the U.C.L.A. School of Dentistry and received his D.D.S. degree in 1974. He then established an esthetic and restorative dental practice in Sunnyvale, and continues it to this day with passion. He was president of the Northern California Academy of Dental Research for 10 years and has lectured numerous times in the Bay Area. As a very early member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, Dr. Budak continues his education so as to bring the most up to date techniques and theories to help his patients. Dr. Budak has received many recognition awards including the American Dental Association Meritorious Service Award and the MAC Excellence in Cosmetic Dentistry Award. He is a member of numerous study clubs and dental organizations, including the American and California Dental Associations.

My friend Steve recommended me Dr. Budak. And I am so glad I took my friend’s advice, as Dr. Budak turned out to be the best dentist I’ve ever met in my life. Knowledgeable and gentle at the same time, Dr. Budak knows how to make his patients feel comfortable, and loves to talk to them and keep them informed about what’s going on.
And it’s not just him, his entire staff is amazing! Every single person I talked to here was super nice, and very professional. Really I couldn’t be happier!

This is the most amazing team. I no longer fear for going to the dentist. I have been with them for years (over 8+) and I am so, so happy I found them. They are amazing including the receptionists. My dental hygienist is AMAZING, I LOVE HER … She is just great! she loves her job and cares a lot of the overall health of your TEETH. I mean what dental hygienist you can go and actually fall asleep or feel relax. Well, give her a try and will not regret it. Do you have nice, clean and healthy teeth, this is the place you must visit. I also must include they have an amazing technology and everything is usually done quiet fast. I can only tell you I am so happy I found this team and I am worried the day Dr. Budak decides to retire… I am concern about my teeth but for now I am sooo happy with them…

Dr. Budak’s office and I have recently decided to begin anew after several phone calls and voicemails messages back and forth. We were able to see each others perspective about the past several appointments, and starting in the new calendar year we will begin with a clean slate. In and out in 30 minutes… NO. That was my last dentist. Yeah, the appointment was short, but incomplete. Dr. Budak is quite the professional and his talent is reflected in the staff around him. I have been seeing ‘Mo’ all of ONE time, and my initial visit was a very detailed exam. From my dental history to the last tooth in the back of my head. Like the man said… «Louis, I think this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship»

I have been a long time patient (over 10 years) with Dr Budak and I totally agree with Madalina C’s comment below. He tries very hard to squeeze every penny from your pocket. He would recommend procedure that is more than necessary.
I had root canal done on my molar tooth 20 years ago by another dentist, it was very successful and the tooth never bother me. 10 years ago when I first saw Dr Budak he recommended to redo the root canal and I followed his advice (I was stupid). The second root canal weakened my tooth and my tooth broke a year after the second root canal. Then Dr Budak recommended tooth implant which would cost me $ 5,500. I didn’t want to let him make more money from me so I delayed the tooth implant procedure for many years and until recently, I went to a dentist in San Francisco and got a bargain deal, tooth implant for only $ 2,400.
It is time for me to move on to another dentist. This time I will find someone that cares for the patient more than the patient’s wallet.

Dr. Budak and his team are the best! I would know. I have been going to Dr. Budak and his office for close to 20 years. He’s an amazing dentist and makes you feel at ease about what if any treatment plan is required. He makes himself available if you have an dental emergency or have an urgent question. I have referred Dr. Budak to many of my friends and relatives.
The dental hygiene team is very good too. In my opinion, there is no better dentist. I also love the fact that he continues to better himself by learning different dental methods and using technology.

I’ve been going to Dr. Budak for about 2 years now and him and his team totally rock. I just went in for a cleaning today with Kirsten and had some work done with Dr. Budak. They were on time and super friendly as usual and I love my squeaky clean teeth.
Usually for such good service I’d give them 4 stars since to get 5 i feel you need to be even better than professional, pleasant and timely since isn’t that your job? I gave them 5 stars since in addition to that they are super reasonable in terms of cost. The work I had done wasn’t covered by my insurance so he offered to charge me 1⁄3 less than normal. Also when he was actually performing the work, he noticed another tooth also needed some TLC and he did that at no extra cost! Seriously Dr. Budak totally rocks!

I think Dr. Budak is about the best a dentist can get. He is brilliant and experienced and he is one of the kindest dentists I have ever met. I have had problems with extreme panic attacks in the past due to traumatic dentist experiences and Dr. Budak was very caring as he helped me work through those issues. He has gone through and replaced a bunch of degrading mercury fillings. He has done a fabulous job of finding rot hiding under old degrading filings (that’s kind of embarrassing to put on the internet).
He isn’t cheap but you are truly paying for what you get. Yes he does encourage cosmetic dentistry but if you truly aren’t interested he lets it go and does a fantastic job given the parameters you ask for.

— Dr Budak fixed a botch fillings job by another dentist for me *immediately* when I first went to him
— He’s the first dentist I’ve ever had who actually measured my gums and detected my early stage of periodontal disease, which is why it hurt me too much to floss most of my life! He fixed that up and now my teeth feel way better and flossing is great.
— He’s a really nice guy and really cares that my teeth look and feel good and that I’m not in any kind of pain ever.

I am a technical person and Dr. Budak’s office is one of the most technical offices I have ever visited. If you need a crown he can do it all in one visit with a product called Cerec. If you want you can even go watch as your porcelain crown is cut out by the water jet milling machine.
He is very friendly and professional and has a wonderful staff to back him up. He is the best dentist I have ever had. I used to have a cracked front tooth and he did such a wonderful job on it, I forgot that it used to be cracked. Thanks to Dr Budak and all his patience (believe me I needed a lot of work) and expertise, I have great oral health once again. So go see Dr Budak, I highly recommend him. I know you won’t be disappointed!

Mo is incredibly wonderful. As somebody who has had all sorts of problems with my teeth and who dreads dentists, I honestly can say that my first visit with Mo made me look forward to returning! He explains every part of his exam thoroughly and is very up-​front about what he is doing and looking for. He involves you completely in the process and treats you with respect for your intelligence and your ability to understand what he is doing and make decisions regarding your treatment options. He keeps up with the latest technology so you can see pictures and x-​rays of your teeth as they are taken and always knows of the latest options for treating whatever issues you might have. Without a doubt, I would recommend him to everybody I know, and have already starting doing so!

Mo is the man because he was Oski back in tha day. I usually spend more time with the hygienists than with Mo himself, but he always takes an extra second to give me a hearty, «Go Bears!» when he’s done poking around in my mouth.
On the subject of Mo’s hygienists, Christy is excellent. I’ve been going to her for years. She is personable and gets your teeth cleaned painlessly.

I went to see him once when I was thinking of changing dentists. He was recommended to me by my orthodontist. I did not like him at all. He’s all smiles, but then he has such a commercial attitude about everything… You can see through him, that all he cares about is taking your money and he starts recommending this and this to you, like you need everything and nothing is right with your teeth. I just hate that kind of an attitude. He is also very expensive and you can barely talk… he talks and talks and talks and makes you feel like you guys are having a dialogue, but it’s actually a monologue. I would never go back here.

Amazing dentist – he keeps up with the technology but isn’t «experimenting» with your mouth. I *to my eternal shame* hadn’t been to the dentist in a year (or three) and he was incredibly supportive in the process of getting my mouth back to healthy shape. He’s willing to field all of my questions and explains things thoroughly and simply – I never got the impression that he was recommending needless procedures and he always showed me concrete evidence to support his suggestions.
