Dropped by on April 25^th without checking Unilocal only to find myself driving up to an abandoned business (with inventory/​merchandise still inside!). There’s an eviction letter taped on their door (dated April 1^st)
It’s safe to say that this place is CLOSED FOR GOOD!

Second time I’ve been to this place, in their business hours, and they are not open. What is the point? Won’t be coming again.

I really like the selection here for slightly-​edgy men’s clothes. And by slightly-​edgy I mean brands like Black Rivet, Rogue, and Marine Layer. Next time I’ll try to take some pics for Unilocal

Lost & Found is a tiny hole-​in-​the-​wall consignment shop located along the El Camino. After eating lunch the other day, my parents and I were talking about consignment stores and the like, and my dad asked me to check Unilocal to see if there were any in the immediate area. Lost & Found was the first to pop up, so we decided to check it out as I had never gone to one before.
This store has very few parking spots (like 3 or 4), and it’s kind of a pain to exit the lot when you’re leaving, but seeing as we were the only customers at the time (around noon on a Sunday), it wasn’t too bad of a problem. The guy working the register seemed to be the only employee in the shop, but he was friendly.
This store specializes in clothes, shoes, and accessories of the higher-​end brands. While there was a decent selection and likely plenty of deals to be had, I wasn’t too interested in browsing since I had left my wallet at home.
Plus, I have already experienced the joys of online consignment shopping. I don’t know about anyone else, but I’ll take thredup or twice over a physical consignment store any day.
Lost & Found wasn’t bad by any means. It was clean, had a friendly shop keeper, and a large-​enough selection to entertain someone for a significant amount of time. It will certainly appeal to bargain-​hunters who enjoy thrift shopping in person.
However, going by the Unilocal ratings, I can only give this place an ‘a-​ok’ for my enjoyment of the location. I don’t think I’ll ever return, but I wouldn’t deter anyone else from paying the shop a visit.

I went back here today and it was fine. I called ahead of time to make sure they were buying.
I was looking around while the guy went through my stuff and didn’t see much I would want for myself. Some designer jeans, prices were ok. $ 9-​$ 50 for tops. There was a cute pair of banana republic jeans for $ 18, also some sevens for $ 25.
It may just not be my style and since they only took one thing I was selling, it kinda makes sense.
I can sum it up as an step up from plato’s closet.
I don’t plan on returning.

Sean is such a nice guy! He is the owner of this shop. My friends and I just came to visit today because my sister wanted to scope around. The shop is very clean and most importantly it smells like fresh candles. Thats a huge plus!
Now the shop is just right with a fitting room too! The clothes are kept neat and original as possible. They carry accessories, shoes, clothes, etc. The female side is much bigger than the male section but I’m sure it’ll build up soon.
Sean is very friendly and helpful. He enjoys talking to his customers and helping with whatever we need. He’s a hard working man who does a great job keeping this shop above the standard. Much respect for him. I will def come back here! Please visit this guy!

Unilocal did not steer me wrong on this one after searching for close consignment shops a friend and I dropped into Lost and Found on a mission.
Lost and Found had a fantastic array of different styles and a little something for everyone, work clothes, hipster gear, chic geek tees. I will say however that they tended to stay in the S-​M range with only a bit of large thrown in, thus if you don’t come for the clothes you should definitely come for the shoes. They had several really neat and edgy styles and a few (like the vinyl fourth of July boots) were fairly tempting.
Their prices were incredibly reasonable, the service was friendly and not overly watchful, hard to do in a store this size and I left with a cute shirt for the boy and an awesome wool sweater for work.
I will definitely drop by again and do so happily! :D

Pretty much the main reason why I give Lost & Found 5 stars because of great customer service. Seriously, I have nothing but good things to say about this place. The owner is incredibly friendly and understanding.
Also, it’s an adorable small place filled with good finds for women and men.
If you’re selling and only want cash back, they only take 30% of your items, but that’s at least 5% more than places like Crossroads and Plato’s. They aren’t very picky about your items as long as it’s in good condition and it’s in season, which is obvious and reasonable.
The parking lot may be small but it’s right in front of the store and you won’t have any trouble going in and out of it. Just make sure you make a U-​turn when you see Crazy Buffet!
If you’re looking for a place to sell your clothes, definitely come here. I cannot emphasize this enough! You won’t be disappointed and you’ll know you’re helping a great and well-​deserved store. Plus, you might be lucky and get to see the owners cute dog!

This relatively new business sells ‘name brand’ clothing. The selection is poor.
The music is deafening and contains more swearing than I hear when I go clubbing. Swearing is cool but not in a business that people of all ages come in.
When I’m bored in Sunnyvale, looking for culture and things to do, this place lets me down. Not because whats inside of the business, but because you can scarcely get inside it. It’s randomly closed.
If you can’t be there, hire more employees, put a sign up, leave a message on your answering machine or something.
One positive note, you can buy the owner’s art :)

I’ve been here three times. First time, I just browsed around the store. I’d say the items were split about ⁴⁰⁄₆₀ or ³⁰⁄₇₀ guy stuff/​girl stuff. Guy who was working was nice, nobody else was there, the items were nice.
Second time I went was on a Sunday (3÷3÷13 I believe); I wanted to sell some clothes. I got there, and the sign on the door said that they were closed for the day and would reopen on Tuesday. No problem with that, family-​owned place, things happen.
The third time I went back was today, 3÷10÷13. I called in around 3:30ish just to make sure there were opened (store hours on their website, which I assume are more correct than on their Unilocal page, state that they are opened Sundays and buy clothes until 4pm). No answer. I figured that they were just busy, and that I should hustle over to make the 4pm cutoff (I live about 5 – 10 minutes away). Got there around 3:45, and there was one of those «Be Back at (12:00pm, in this case)» signs in the window. No signs of life inside.
So, for now, I’m giving this place 2 stars. I’d like to come back here and sell some clothes so that I can re-​review, but until that time, my review stands. Also, my work schedule means that weekends are my errand days, so perhaps I’ll try a Saturday next time. Regardless, this is two times in a row that I’ve gone during posted store hours and the place is closed.

Well, it took me a long time to write an update on this, but the fact that they were incredibly unprofessional in their response to my review and the fact that I am not the only one with the same experience, I think I will have to.
They wrote this after my initial review: «Have you ever had a bad morning that was just a series of unfortunate events, where you think nothing else can possibly go wrong. but does? Well, this isolated incident was definitely one of ours!»
Yes. I have had a few of those mornings. But as an adult with responsibilities that affect other people, I made sure the workplace is open and that everything is ready to go, even though I could not be there in person. Things happen, but when you own a business, you need to understand that if you DO leave people locked out of the shop way past opening and DON’T leave a sign saying what is going on, they WILL have a bad experience, and it is unfair of you to expect me to not share it, just because you were having a bad day. Experiences like this are meant to be shared, whether good or not, so people know what to expect of the business. And from what I read in the other reviews (including filtered ones), it is NOT an isolated incident. It’s not the first or only time this has happened, so please don’t lie to your customers.
Secondly, I did end up coming back another day and giving them a large bag of my clothing to sell, so your claim that I am being unfair is baseless: «On the other hand, for you to say „I doubt they will even offer me a reasonable price for the brand clothing I was bringing in“, is very unfair. We uphold the highest integrity with our customers & offer very fair trade/​cash, as you have read in our other reviews.»
The bag of clothes I was selling was full of barely worn/​unworn F21/GAP/H&M from THAT SEASON etc types of clothing at least. I had some higher end unworn sporting clothes there as well. The only clothes they DID end up buying were clothes with tags still attached (they got 3 items, retail price on them in the hundreds), so their claim that they buy clothing that is in style is quite wrong. Unless you bring REALLY high end things, they will not bother. For the three items I ended up «selling,» I got $ 16 in store credit. Yep, that’s 50% of what they were going to sell it for.
Okay, I though, maybe they can’t sell it for more than that. Except the best part was when a friend of mine went to their shop a week later and saw one of the things I sold for quite a bit more than they told me they could sell it for. That sounds like a scam to me, to be honest. Now who is being unfair?
To be completely honest, my first experience was disappointing, my bringing in clothing and being ripped off was a bigger disappointment, but the way they handled my initial review with such accusatory manner is beyond disappointing. Since it seems like they keep on the same path and their customer service seems to be lacking greatly, I don’t think they will last long. If you are looking for a good bargain, avoid this place.

My husband and I stayed in town for a business trip and this gem was located near our hotel. An amazing find!
They buy your clothes and sell them. Hence the name «lost & found»…very catchy.
The store is trendy, organized, and well maintained. There is no «old clothes» smell AT ALL! Everything is clean.
The store is managed by a husband and wife, they both are sooo nice and welcoming. They made sure that we found everything ok and they seemed very genuin.
There is a huge variety of clothing to pick from. For both men and women. Shoes and jewelry. This place has it all. They even place good music.
I can’t wait to stop by again when I am in the area.

The selection was limited and the prices were fairly high for used/​recycled clothing. I noticed many of the pieces were comparable to sale prices for new clothes at department stores. Compared to Crossroads, I personally thought they didn’t have as wide of a variety and the prices were higher. In terms of selling, they are quite selective on what they buy. I brought in a few bags of clothes and was only able to sell a few items and all for less than $ 10. I have to note that the staff was very helpful and friendly though.
The shop is hard to spot also. I would suggest parking on the street near the store instead of parking in their 3-​spaces lot because it was very difficult to back out of the lot without backing into oncoming traffic.

This place got a lot pricier within the last few months. I came by during the summer for the first time and was really happy with the low pricing and nice clothes (it made for good competition to Crossroads — which I love). But now, it seems like prices here have doubled and the quality of clothes/​shoes has definitely gone down. Think cheap heels you could find at Charlotte Russe and ugly mom jeans.
Thanks but no thanks. I think I’ll stick to my other consignment stores.

This was a cute little thrift store with some decent pieces, well priced. A bit on the small side and a few too many «younger» people clothes (read: early 20’s) for me. However, there were some cute things and I will be back next time I am nearby and have some time to browse.

I am always in search of a new thrift store. Lost and Found was my recent find this summer. It is a pretty small shop, but they manage to fit closets full of clothing in. It is also very easy to miss tucked in across the street from Golfland. I always end up making a very last minute turn into the tiny parking lot.
The owner was there both times and actually remembered me from the first time. It is always nice when someone cares enough to remember. He is pretty friendly and was more than willing to chat about clothing brands.
I browsed through the items. The store is well organized by clothing article and color. I did see a bit more than preferred on the Forever 21 scale, but it was balanced out nicely by some well priced Free People, Gap, Bebe, and Calvin Klein items. The pricing is very fair. I haven’t actually bought anything yet. I tried on items both times in the dressing room. There are always a couple higher priced, designer items on the walls. While I don’t think I would find some of the great bargains I would at Crossroads, it seems like what they buy is a lot less random. I always see some cute dresses, but a lot of them won’t fit. I am looking forward to the great find that I know will eventually arise if I visit Lost & Found a couple more times. I will also be back to do some selling.

This is a family owned thrift store. It’s concept is like that of Crossroads or Plato’s Closet, in which you would bring your slightly worn clothes to either trade or sell.
The couple just owns this store is very youthful and welcoming. I was able to chit chat with the husband who said he decided to open this little shop since his daughter and wife are very fashionable. I think these types of family owned business are the best, since you know exactly who you are dealing with and everything is so transparent.
Store Policy:
— If you choose to receive store credit, they give 50% of what they are going to sell your items for.
— If you choose cash, they give 30% of what they are going to sell your items for.
— They do offer you split.
— HOWEVER, if they take in off season clothes, they will only offer 10% – such as tank tops in December.
(I’ve got a lot of trendy clothes but I live in a tiny dorm at UCLA so I can’t bring all my clothes. Also some were gifts that just did not look good on my short frame – I’m 5′ and things look funky on me…)
I stopped by around 6pm, and the wife allowed me to drop my bag while my boyfriend and I went to dinner. She said she’d call when she was done. I thought it was weird that she hadn’t called around 6:50. I stopped by at 7pm and the husband was still there and fixed my problems (they were not yet sorted). Anyway I decided to sell a bunch of my random clothes that have been flooding my closet, and two pairs of shoes. They decided to take both shoes and nearly all of my clothes I brought in! In total, $ 60 dollars for them to bring into their store. I picked up this cute 8 $ top for store credit, and received a little more than $ 12 in cash. I’d say this was a great experience besides the mishap with selling – but I am an easy person to work with.
Pro: Family owned. YAY FOR SMALL BUSINESSES! Great prices for fashionable clothes. Friendly staff. Great décor! I really love the art work they have around their store. Especially the damask wallpaper and comfortable fitting room.
Neutral: The store was smaller than I thought. However this does not deflect from the store itself.
Con: The only bad thing about this store is that the parking lot is TOO SMALL. Apparently you can go into the conjoining parking lot, but there is not sign for that.

Can I just keep this place all to myself?
My best friend told me about this place since I’ve been longing to sell all my stuff to a consignment store, in hopes to get rid of the never ending pile of clothing in my room.
The place is so small, but don’t let it’s look fool you. We came here to sell two bags of items and scoped the place out. Half way through analyzing what type of style and concept they were I fell in love. They had pieces that literally made me so happy, because they were so unique and were items I would wear all the time!
It’s priced at a fairly good range from items starting at $ 3 – 80. The style is a good mixture of hippie chic, minimalistic and some high fashion pieces.
The woman working at the register was so friendly and it was easy to start a conversation with her. We found out a little about the family business, what they buy and about their styles.
Their buying method is basically the same as Crossroads & Plato’s, but has a more boutique feel to it which makes it more unique than any other consignment store out there IMO. They also buy jewelry and accessories! I was able to sell so many items I left with half the items I brought in. Yay!

Firstly, I seriously wish I could give this spot 6 stars. that’s just how much I loved my first time here.
I think it’s just because the only other place I’ve gone thrifting is Buffalo Exchange & they’re SUPER rude + some of the clothes are hella dirty.
But anyways, the only thing I dislike is the fact that I completely missed it the first time around & the parking lot is megaaa tiny (Only three spots in front of the shop + street parking. that is, if you don’t suck at parallel parking like I do.). But my experience INSIDE the shop TOTALLLY outshines those factors.
Right when I walked in, the owner (I think. &Is her name Veronica? I’m not too sure.) greeted me. &You know how sometimes, when you meet someone & right away you know that they’re hella nice? Well, this was one of those times.
I brought in some stuff to sell & asked if I could look around while she went through it & she said, «go ahead! Make yourself at home!» (So sweet!)
Anyways, we ended up talking a bit & she’s just a real cool person. So, I guess they give you 50% of that they’re actually gonna sell your stuff for in store credit. Which I took, ’cause I already kneeew I was gonna come back soon. (:
But yeah, even though it’s a bit of a drive (I’m from SLZ), I’d say it’s worth it. &Even though the store is a bit small, it’s homey in a way that I really like.
You honestly can’t beat those mom & pop places. :]

This review is for my experience selling my stuff at Lost & Found.
I’m in the process of moving and was purging my closet (s), sorting things i wanted to keep and what i was going to donate. A lot of the stuff still had tags, other things i’ve only worn a few times so i figured maybe I can see if i can make a few bucks before shipping it off to the donation center. I’ve never attempted to sell my used clothes before so I searched Unilocal to see where I should bring them which is how i came across Lost & Found.
Found their store fairly easily, its located right across the street from the Sunnyvale Golfland. Their parking lot is very small, probably only parks 3 cars.
I came to drop off the clothes and was told that Veronica, the person who sorts through the clothes and prices them wasn’t there and wouldn’t be in til 4:30. The very nice man who works there told me that i can just leave the stuff and when she comes in and sorts through it, she can give me a call. Got a call later that day and she gave me a fair offering for the stuff that they decided to keep.
The people that I encountered (Sean) in store and (Veronica) on the phone were extremely nice. I was hesitant and kinda nervous to sell my stuff but they made the whole experience very pleasant and easy. My hesitation mainly comes from reading other reviews at other places that some places make you feel like you’re stuff is not good enough for their store (ie Crossroads) but Lost & Found does not make u feel like that AT ALL! =)
