We’re gadget freaks. We love mobile devices (Android and iPhones), Tablets, Notebooks, Windows & Mac you name it — we’ve installed it. We offer Cable and Wiring.

History

Established in 1996.

Clyde started the business out of his home while working for Tandem Computers, Inc. After a few months, it was obvious that people needed customized and dedicated computer support — especially if they didn’t work at a big company.

So, Clyde began working with small businesses and home offices in the local Palo Alto area. Word of mouth quickly spread and he began servicing computers in San Mateo, San Jose, Los Altos, San Francisco and Piedmont. As the clients kept coming, he found he needed help both administratively and technically.

He hired 1 technician and 1 part time office manager. For several years the company stayed at that size. After about 5 years, business was just too much for the 3 people, so more technicians were added, more specialties were added (Mac, Server, Web Design, Web Hosting) and more people were hired.

Today, there are 14 people on staff ready and willing to «Relieve Your Technology Stress» — in computer repair, web design & web hosting.

He got his BS in Business at UC Berkeley. He loves his cats tons and loves to Rollerblade for exercise. He’s always reading the latest blogs (in addition to writing his own — www​.clydes​blog​.net to keep abreast of the latest in technology, so he can do excellent computer care and relieve his client’s technological stress with the latest in technology.

Clyde just helped me fix my Mac. I was having all these pop-​ups. I could barely use the Internet. He ran several programs which removed these evil pop-​ups. where I couldn’t use my computer. It was such a relief.
Also, he helped me back up my computer to an old back up drive I had. I was very worried that my computer would crash and I would lose all my beautiful 5 year collection of pictures of my 3 kids. We also ordered a bigger back up drive.
He’s a wonderful, smart guy who had patience in explaining things to me. I thought I was going to have to get a new laptop, but I didn’t. yeah!

Excellent service. He came quickly upon request. Then, he diagnosed a problem with my computer with cost and time efficiency. I would definitely call him again if I have a problem. This was far better than the solution offered by staples to do a hard reset on my computer.

Clyde and his ITM team totally saved our butts today so I had to take a minute to give them a shout out. Somehow, we messed up our store laptop and created some guest logins and some password protected logins and the person who did it did not write down the passwords. After trying to hack in and watch You Tube videos trying to figure it out — we finally called ITM. Clyde and his team were extremely responsive and they understood how urgent this was. They made time for us 2 hours after we called. We drove to them and they helped us get it all resolved while we waited. We got such amazing desk top support from ITM today. SO impressed with how responsive they are and how quickly they fixed our problem. Now back to work! Thanks ITM Computing. Much appreciated.

OMG! In the middle of trying to put together a photo folder to be organized to transfer to a photo book for my son’s 50th birthday ALL of my personal photos disappeared. Clyde came through, yet again, found where I had somehow moved them, and I can not only finish the book… more importantly I haven’t lost years of special moments. While we were at it we upgraded the backup system I have.

Okay … heres how it goes. I surf the web, download a buncha crap, my computers start doin weird stuff I call Clyde he shows up … tippy tippy type, clicky clicky clack BAM … everything back where it should be, nice and clean and proper!
I don know nuthin about no fixin computers, but Clyde does. RAM, Gigs, Firewall, Snow Leopard … Wait WHAT? I love Snow Leopards!!!
Clyde does what he does so I can concentrate on what I do… its as simple as that.

They were very good with communication, but they misquoted the work more than once. They correctly diagnosed the problems with my laptop, but quoted the fix time as about 14 hours and several hundred dollars, when it took me 4 hours and 50 dollars to do it on my own. Good service, nice people, but not necessarily the best choice if you are relatively computer savvy.

Great service! My iMac’s hard drive recently failed, and I didn’t feel up to performing the invasive surgery necessary to replace the drive myself.
After seeing the exorbitant prices that Apple charges to replace a drive, I decided to find a 3rd party vendor I could trust to do a good job. The replacement requires a certain amount of finesse and knowledge of how to hook the drive up so it doesn’t mess with the computer’s fans (from what I’ve read and seen on YouTube).
I emailed In the Moment Computing for a price quote. It took a little longer than I’d hoped to get a reply back but once I heard back, the owner Clyde was very responsive. And the price was right — quite competitive with other prices in the area.
Clyde ended up picking up my computer, having his skilled tech repair it and dropping it back off at my house the same afternoon because he knew how much it meant to me to have a working computer. Can’t beat that service!
I’m grateful to have my computer back in my life, with a larger and fully functioning hard drive. Thank you to Clyde and In the Moment Computing!

Thanks to Clyde for his timely response to my call for help on a Friday evening.
Many thanks to Ronnie Lee the tech who worked on my computer. He was able to retrieve my data, replace the hard drive and re-​install Windows 7 to get me back in business.
I am always shocked at the cost of IT support. The repair cost was close to the original price of my low end Acer lap top. But the value of my retrieved data is priceless (considering my Intuit Total Platform online backup system seems to have failed!)

I had high hopes for this place.
My computer had been freezing on me at random so I brought it by for them to have a look. They gave me a $ 25 discount for diagnosing the problem. The technicians were nice and seemed knowledgeable.
The problem I had though is that they were not able to give me a straight answer as to what my problem was, which was the real reason I went in in the first place. With that in mind, I didn’t want to leave my computer there as they racked up a huge bill trying to figure out the problem.
So, with out a solid diagnosis they told me it could be wide range of issues. They still took my $ 25 and I was back at square one.

Clyde at In The Moment Computing was able to rectify a tech problem our office was having for over a year in one visit.
I am the office manager for a solo practitioner and we were having an issue with getting an iPhone synced with a work email account — it was completely unreliable. We looked through several online tutorials to see if there was a do-​it-​yourself option, but none of the tutorials worked. We went to the genius bar at Apple three times and they also could not figure out how to get the work emails on the iPhone. We also had another IT person take a look at it. No one could fix it.
We were completely frustrated and so we decided we needed a real expert. Clyde was able to resolve this issue after one visit to our office! He was amazing. Now the iPhone is synced with the work email after a year of frustration. It has made a big difference to our office and we are so grateful.

One of PCs died last thursday. Wouldn’t boot up anymore and machine is out of warranty so took it in to these guys on Friday afternoon. Monday got a call from them to inform me of the problem/​solution and by midday the system was ready for pickup! Not only did they fix the boot up issue, but they also cleaned up my fans and interior of my case!
Extremely friendly, efficient and reliable! From the front desk to the techs it’s all all around awesome staff. Will definitely be a repeat customer.

Frank rocks. Enough said.
I posted on Facebook (from my cell phone) that my computer crashed and I needed help immediately. I received two referrals instantly from well-​trusted business colleagues, and they told me to call Clyde at In the Moment. I called, and they figured out a way to get Frank out to my office within the hour. None of the other places I frantically called could promise that to me.
I can’t tell you the technical things that he did, but he basically rerouted my computer (which was acting as the server) to another computer that would be the replacement while my new system was built. My new computer was completed within a day, but I preferred to wait until Frank was available to come back out and reroute our systems. He also secured our backup drive and restored all of my bookmarks. It sounds silly, but this was priceless!
As if the fast service wasn’t the best part, I love that they offered an ongoing support solution for our office. They helped me with an online backup and quarterly support for our office of three.
In the Moment saved the day, and they are my only go-​to guys for computer repair, networking, and support. THANK YOU!

Hooray for Clyde and company!
My poor old iMac decided to stop working a couple weeks ago and it’s been well out of warranty for some time now. Well, rather than take it to the Genius Bar and take out a second mortgage, I gave In The Moment a call. They told me to drop it by and they’d take a look at it.
Yes, there’s a $ 50 charge to have them crack it open and give you an estimate. No, that’s not a lot of money when you’re dealing with computer technicians. And they deduct it from the total charge when you pick up the finished product. Consider it a down payment. Not at all unreasonable.
So I needed a new logic board. No biggie. They called me the day after I dropped it off and gave me a ballpark repair price ($ 450 — $ 500). Here’s a little sidebar: When I first got this computer, it had a bad logic board. WeFixMacs wanted $ 1200 to replace it. It turned out that this computer was from a batch that all had logic board issues, so Apple fixed it for free, but the point is that this same repair had been estimated at over twice what Clyde charged me. Did I mention that the total worked out to $ 475? Yes, exactly in the middle of their estimate range!
And the service here is excellent! Lisa is a most gracious hostess and there’s always some sort of snack on the table. Vegetarian, no less!
And they’re on Facebook. OK, that’s not exactly new and exciting, but Clyde is a gadget junkie and loves to share the latest industry news and cool toys with his friends. He’ll also answer questions if you post them on the wall. Seriously, you should friend him.

I went here a year or so ago and hated my experience.
The backlight on my PowerBook G4 had gone out, and I went here to get it fixed because it had good reviews. Almost every time I got an update from them, the price was higher and they kept trying to get me to buy one of their refurbished laptops instead. I got fed up and said I wanted to come pick my laptop up. It turns out they don’t even do the repairs there, they take everything to somewhere in San Jose. I had to wait for someone to bring it back to the office. When I got it back, the screws for the case were taped on in a little bag.
These people don’t seem to have knowledge of Mac’s. I took it to a Mac repair place on Stevens Creek across from Barnes and Nobles and got it fixed by people that actually knew what they were doing.
