I love this food!!! So much flavor in each bite I can’t describe what my taste buds experience when this yummyness on a fork is gobbled up in seconds because it’s sooooo good! I’m a vegetarian but appreciate the meats eats for my for my peeps that aren’t and even vegan dishes for the hubster! The deconstructed samosa and sexy fries are my go to dishes but everything is well executed! If you can experience this it must be on your list when in the area! 5

This review pertains to my experience with Curry Up Now’s catering service. My organization hired Curry Up Now for a team event recently and one of the points we asked the catering team to accommodate was to allow for quick serving of ~50−60 people without having them wait for too long. I spoke with their event coordinator, Rana, on the phone and she assured me that there would be no problem feeding a large number of folks quickly by getting to our venue early and prepping food about half an hour beforehand. The order was handed over to our admin to coordinate and she continued to work w/their event coordinator until the event. Several days prior to the event, we informed Curry Up Now that we needed to bump the order from 50 people to possible ~70−80 people. On the day of the event, the truck went to the WRONG location in a different city entirely despite us having provided them the address of our campus. That resulted in them arriving LATE and hence, had no time to prep food in advance. When people started waiting in line, it grew quickly and some folks were in line for nearly 50mins. To make matters WORSE, they ran out of food b/c for some reason the truck only brought enough food for 50 people instead of 70⁄80 people. This was extremely disappointing as the event was for a product release celebration and a good number of people were left without having even fries at the end. The menu also didn’t seem to have the same selection as the menu presented/advertised when I spoke to Rana/their event coordinator but that might have been an oversight on my part. I did enjoy the samosas but I personally was slightly disappointed that there was only rice and protein in the wraps. We were also given the choice of having ONE type of sauce with our order, each person could only choose either the mint chutney OR the tamarind chutney. Never have I ever been forced to choose between one or the other, EVERY Indian eatery I’ve ever frequented provides both. A few weeks later, it was discovered that Curry Up Now was hit with a health violation by the Santa Clara Health Department(public records). Given the last point and our disappointing experience with the truck being late as well as missing the new additional count for food requested, I MIGHT order a wrap if I see them at one of the food truck lots but will consider other trucks when it comes to ability to get the order correct and deliver on service for catering events.

I used to love going to curry up now in Palo Alto when it first opened! Last night I ordered from door dash and got the chicken tikka masala bowl, and some saffron rice. The saffron rice was disgusting like someone soaked rice with some saffron tea bags, it smelled like it was rotting and the tikka masala bowl was just unappetizing. I’m so disappointed and surprised by the quality of the food!

I just had Curry Up Now for the first time at Sunday’s Quakes game, and this place is delicious! I love Indian food and I love fusion cuisine, so this food truck was a natural pick for me. I got the chicken tikka masala burrito and was blown away by it. This burrito was quite possibly the best burrito I’ve ever had. It was very saucy, like an Indian wet burrito. I ordered it with medium spice, which was pretty spicy! My mouth was definitely tingling pleasantly half way through my meal. The basmati rice and onions in the burrito were perfectly seasoned too. On top of the food being wonderful, the service was fast! My only complaint is that I wish the burrito had been bigger for the price. Still, I would definitely recommend this food truck to anybody wanting a delicious spin on Indian food!

OK, disappointed… where is this food truck? Second week we have looked for it and it’s nowhere to be found. Also, phone number listed goes straight to a fax machine. GRR!

Just bit into a chicken kathi roll — and boy was I shocked. I’ve never had a kathi roll with 1) an omelette in it and 2) with sautéed peppers. Big chunks of tasteless chicken and a really, really greasy paratha encasing it all. The egg is supposed to be cooked into the paratha. The paratha is supposed to be flaky and crisp. Chicken is supposed to be flavorful — with indian spices. And that’s all you are supposed to have in it. This is nothing like any kathi roll that I’ve ever had — and I’ve had good ones. Guess I’m going to get something else to eat for lunch. And I’ll have to remember not to order from here again.

Pretty OK for Indian food if you’re on the go. Other than getting my order wrong, I enjoyed it. The naan is super fresh. Prices are decent($ 10 out the door) and can’t complain about service. Wasn’t too spicy, but I’d imagine I could have asked for it spicy. Everything tasted good, but was perhaps just a bit under seasoned to appeal for the masses.

While I enjoy the traditional al a carte and buffet ways of serving Indian food, more times than not I prefer a faster, more convenient Indian meal with the same familiar and beloved flavor. Curry Up Now has provided the answer for that and do it well. I always get the Kathi Roll with paneer because 1) I love paneer 2) it’s a good amount of food for my lunch 3) it’s a simple yet flavorful meal. The CTM burrito is a bit heavy for me, kind of a saucy, rice, beans, and chicken mess. I prefer more vegetable variety in my burritos. At some point I’d like to try their thali and deconstructed samosa. Hopefully the San Jose location with Mortar and Pestle opens soon(it’s taken almost a year)! Only complaints from this truck so far was we did a pick up order online for fries with a side of sauce, but when we opened our food post-pick up there was no sauce to be found :(The portions are also somewhat inconsistent: one day I’ll get a lot of food, another I’ll get much less. Tip: save yourself the trouble of waiting in long lines during rushes and order online for pick up!

So this is a really popular food truck and I don’t know why??? This is certainly not a typical Indian food but hey I am all into creativity and fusion. But and a real big but I find none here. It’s heavy, greasy and not so great tasting.

A different take on indian food. Chicken Tikka Masala Burrito($ 9.25 incl tax) — It was saucy on the inside which I liked. The chicken was also decent. It tastes more like a shredded chicken than grilled. I think the sauce coulda been a lil more flavorful, but it was still good. It wasnt spicy for me at all. I told em to add spicy sauce on the side but they probably forgot. Butter Chicken Burrito($ 10 and change incl tax) — This one had a better flavor but it coulda used more saucy. Overall, I would probably get this again but not so often as it is a lil pricy for the amount of food that u get. I do give a premium on innovation and creativity which is why this place gets a 4 when its probably more of a 3.5.

Loved their Lusty Lamb Burrito! Off the Grid was awesome and perfect place to hangout with kids with so many truck options to try!

Review is for truck at Off the Grid in Sunnyvale. $ 8+ for some garbanzo beans, spices, and herbs atop sweet potato fries. I asked for the ghost-pepper sauce, to which the cashier built up my anticipation and made my mouth water by confirming that I was sure and to warn me that it was REALLY spicy. Either they forgot my spice-level request, or the ghost-pepper sauce has absolutely NO kick at all. Don’t waste your time.

I love Indian food but Curry Up Now just didn’t meet the high expectations I had for it. While the sexy fries were good(albeit soggy), the Chicken Tikka Masala burrito was very bland. The chicken was dry and in large, 1 oz chunks that made it difficult to eat. The saffron rice was undercooked, and the whole thing lacked in spices and flavor. Boring. Ditto for the Paneer burrito. Also, I got there a half hour after they said they opened and had to wait 15 more minutes for them to actually open. But they’re a food truck, so that’s forgivable.

I had spotted a photo of a Chicken Tikka Masala burrito on Instagram months ago and HAD to try this spot. I realized there is a food truck right down the street from work on Tuesdays, so made a plan to hit it up the following Tuesday. Was not disappointed. I had the Chicken Tikka Masala burrito and a Samosa — both were quite good. The tikka masala was so tasty and full of spice. Definitely want to hit up one of the restaurants to try more off their menu. Looking forward to a deconstructed samosa, naughty naan, and especially the«sexy fries».

After watching Tyler Florence on The Food Network’s «The Great Food Truck Race» really piqued my interest in trying out food from a truck! I can see that with not too much capitol you can start your own roving restaurant. When I arrived at the Curry Up Now truck was quite the crowd waiting to place their orders and the crew in the truck busy Currying Up inside as they were just getting started for lunch. I ordered the Chicken Tikka Marsala Burrito($ 8.00) and a($ 1.00) water to go as I was in a hurry to get back to my desk. They wrapped it in foil and put it in a cute little brown bag. When I got back to my desk it was still warm and very enjoyable! So yea I am a fan! I would recommend if you dig Indian food which I crave in the winter time. I see from my fellow Unilocaler’s pictures their menu changes so I will have to try again and see what other yummy offerings they have!

this place kind of reminded me of chipotle but indian style haha My Indian friends took me here when I was visiting NorCal. Whatever I got was so good! I really wish they had this near my area… my parents would love this place. The price is very reasonable. You HAVE to get their Mango Lassi!!!

I had Curry Up Now today for lunch. I got the CTM(chicken tikki marsala) burrito. It was pretty good — a burrito filled with rice, chicken marsala and some onions — but it was damn spicy(maybe offer different levels of spiciness?). My friend had the CMT Sexy Fries — basically, sweet potato fries with chicken marsala on top. That was my second choice, but I wasn’t sure about sweet potato with curry? Other items on the menu: deconstructed samosa(similar to a burrito bowl but with samosa instead), kathi rolls(not sure what that is) and naughty naan(naan bread with either the chicken or vegetarian marsala). Service is fast. Burritos are pre-made so you get it right when you order(unless you have a special order). However, pre-made does not mean it’s not fresh! With the number of people in line and the number of burrito orders, you can expect that your burrito was made within minutes of your order! Credit cards are accepted!

Finally got to try Curry Up Now, and it lives up to the hype! Although someone picked it up for me, and I wasn’t able to see the truck or anything, I heard they were a bit unprepared for the Tuesday Sunnyvale/El Camino stop. Bro got there at 5:30, and the special, Butter Chicken Burrito wasn’t ready. Or mint chutney. WHAT? Minus 1 star for that. Well, maybe 2, but the Chicken Tikka Masala burrito is too good so it takes over the star. So the burritos are $ 8, which are a tad pricier than a mexican joint, but not too much over(at least its not like $ 10!). They’re huge. Normally I can only eat half anyways, but these are like chipotle sized fat. I got mine without the chana, since I’m not a fan of any kinds of beans. Also just got the regular spicy since I heard the extra spicy is ridiculously spicy. The tortilla is soft, and I know that’s a favorite part, which is amazing how it doesnt get super soggy, but I like my tortillas grilled. There’s a ton of chicken in this burrito, they definitley do not skimp on that, and a good amount of rice as well. After a few bites, I was sweating. When I was done with my half, my chest started hurting. I felt like such a noob. But that thing does get pretty dang spicy! Just enjoyed the second half, and it seriously weighs a brick, and I’m regretting it all in my tummy right now, but it was worth it. DELICIOUS!

There is a spicy, its level is Desi. Try to order something Desi Hot, they’ll think you’re crazy. You’ll have to confirm again and again– it must be hot! While they’re making your order, again they’ll ask again. Yes, it was hot. Hot that makes you sweat and need a mango Lassi hot. But not hot enough that it ruins the taste. Its probably about 10x hotter than spic Mango Lassi — Good and thick. Helps cool the taste buds Samosa — Kind of doughy, wheres the sauces ?!? Paneer Tika Masala Burrito — Lots of paneer chunks, many in every bite. Yummy but not so good later on for my lactose-intolerance. Desi hot went will with this. Aloo quesadillix w/chicken — I was a pain ordering this, thank you CUN guys who picked out the onions– MUCHAPPRECIATED :). Not too cheesy(good). Tasted a bit dry, maybe need some chana masala on the side to dip in(a la quesadillas and salsa/guac/sour cream). Once in a while you could taste the aloo parantha. Desi hot did not go well with this because it was a dry dish. Hmm. what will they come out with next?
