I went to Rachanee for a trial for my wedding hair and make up. I asked to try clip on extensions, which I paid her for. They were expensive and unlike the my other trials, Rachanee didn’t let me keep the extensions even though I paid extra. I looked okay, but not as polished as I would have liked. The trial took an hour longer than I expected it to (my other trials were all shorter).

Rachanee was simply fantastic. I went in for a trial with her without knowing what I really wanted and she was great about helping me figure out a look for my wedding day. I had my hair and makeup done at her studio on the day of the wedding and it was like an oasis of calm (except for when her son made a brief but very entertaining and high-​energy cameo). I was really happy with the way everything came out (and her assistant did a great job with my bridesmaids’ makeup too). She really delivered even though I wasn’t able to clearly articulate what I wanted!

I found Rachanee on Unilocal and was very happy with the hair and makeup she created for my wedding a few months ago. She was very nice in person and understood immediately the style I was looking for. The beautiful hair style she created for the wedding lasted a whole day without any need for a touch up.

I met Rachanee through my sister in law, who had Rachanee do her wedding a few years back. When i had my trial for hair and makeup, she took a long time to make sure it was the look I wanted. I’m a picky person, especially when it comes to my hair, but she did a WONDERFUL job. I wanted a natural look for my wedding and it was ever so slightly heavy-​handed, but it still looked great.
On the day of my wedding, Rachanee and her assistant showed up on time and was extremely flexible especially when my bridesmaids all ran late. She was so sweet and professional. She also seemed genuinely happy for me on my wedding day. She made sure she was the one who did my hair and makeup exactly the way we discussed months before and made sure I, as the bride, was properly prepped before she touched up anyone else. The airbrush technique she used was light but definitely lasted all day. I was so happy with her work and everyone was happy with their makeup as well. I definitely recommend her for your makeup needs!

I chose Rachanee and Art Occasions to do makeup and hair for my May 2012 wedding. I found her via Art Occasion’s Unilocal reviews.
I was looking for a low-​key makeup artist who could work well with the bride (me), my 2 bridesmaids and my mom. I wanted to find someone professional, prompt and calming. Rachanee was certainly those three things.
Let me be honest, Rachanee’s prices were too high. I think the industry is just too pricey for what you are getting. However, I am still happy I outsourced my hair and makeup to Rachanee.
Rachanee is very capable in terms of applying makeup and styling hair. But when it came to the makeup design process, I didn’t feel like she had an eye for what colors and styles looked best for my mom and I. I was hoping to outsource the design process to her, but ended up having to very clearly explain exactly what I wanted. Once I did this, she was able to create the look. So, if you book with Rachanee, make sure you know what styling you prefer and definitely book a trial run. She does do a great job with the makeup application process.
My sister was very happy with the hair style Rachanee crafted for her. She asked for a braided design she had seen on Pinterest, and Rachanee was able to do it for her at a moment’s notice. It was beautiful.
Rachanee was certainly a calming presence on my wedding day. If you have the budget and know what type of makeup and hair design you are looking for, I recommend Art Occasions.

I will definitely recommend Art Occasions to all my engaged friends. Rachanee did my hair and makeup for my wedding as well as my mothers hair. She was extremely professional and artistic. I did a trial at her home studio a few months prior and she brought my vision to life. She had lots of suggestions and references to use so we established a clear picture of what I was looking for before she even got started. She created a beautiful, unique updo and lovely airbrushed makeup. On my wedding day, she arrived on time at my hotel and finished my hair, makeup, and mothers hair by the time we had agreed on. Rachanee is an excellent hair and make-​up artist. She was professional, but also, flexible and personable. I will definitely hire her again for my next special occasion and highly recommend her service to everyone.
I had 7 hour pre-​wedding photo shoot. She did my initial hair and makeup in the morning and changed my hair styles about 5 times during the photo shoot.
As every bride experienced before, I couldn’t choose between long hair styles and updo hair styles, so I decided to have both. I researched a lot of hair/​makeup artists in the bay area. I contacted pretty much all artists from

. I was looking for someone who could do the natural makeup and variety of hair styles. Moreover, even tho it was 7 hours, considering driving 6 different places in SF, changing clothes, walking and taking pictures, the time was very tight. Therefore, I needed someone who know the styles and practice them beforehand, so it can be done as fast as possible. After getting quotes and reviewing each artists’ portfolios, I finally chose Rachanee.
I emailed her a bunch of photos of the hair and makeup styles I like. During our trial, she had them printed out already and I could see she was prepared. she pretty much knew what I liked and did a good job. We timed how long it took to do one hair style to do the next. She took each pictures, so she could practice later. Of course, there were times that I didn’t like the style. I told her my concerns, and she listened to me and changed it until I was satisfied. She was a very hard worker.
Lastly, as I mentioned previously, I got a lot of quotes from different artists, and her rate was one of the most reasonable price considering their experiences. Also, FYI, I liked pictures from Unilocal than her website for some reason, so make sure to check out the pictures from Unilocal.I hope this helps!

Rachanee did an excellent job on my trial. Although I was literally an hour late and couldn’t contact her because I got lost and forgot my cell phone/don’t have GPS she was very nice about it. She took almost two hours to complete my trial, she took lots of time to discuss the look I wanted and was very thorough.
The studio is in her home and It was *slightly* stressful that her babysitter’s kids kept banging on the window but I am not going to take off a star for that because that is how *amazing* the makeup and hair was and how sweet and professional she was. I am extremely picky about my appearance and not easily pleased so for me to be happy with this was pretty good. She did airbrush and it came with single lash application. She took the time to blow-​dry my bangs nice and straight which was a special touch that many artist neglect to do She also took lots of before and after pictures of me with both her camera and mine and sent them to me pretty prompty. Her prices are on par with other artists in the area.
I am still deciding on finances because of my location but would not hesitate to highly recommend her for your makeup and hair needs.
Some suggestions for future brides:
— bring pictures of a few looks you are going for. Research this well. I ultimately went for a completely different hair look than I originally thought I wanted.
— Make sure you ask your artists what makeup they use beforehand. My first one had the nerve to use Mary Kay on me (ugh). Rachanee used mac, among others.
— Definitely do airbrush even if you have nice skin. Mine is in relatively decent shape. I did a trial with and without airbrush, and it makes a huge difference.
–Also bring your own lipstick as you may prefer that to the colors suggested. It’s worth paying to get more than one trial if you are picky like I am. Considering the costs of a wedding it is really a drop in the bucket. Rachanee was my third artist and not until I came to her did I find the exact look I was happy with.
— Request single lash application. It looks way more natural. If you are using the trial as your engagement pictures make sure they use an adequate amount of glue or the lashes will start to come off. Don’t let the artist try to get away with no using lashes during the trial. You need to see how they look!
— Take lots of photos in different lighting if possible and wait to wash the trial makeup off for awhile to see how it holds up.

Rachanee and her team were awesome. She’s so accommodating and such a sweetheart. She knows how to make you look and feel beautiful. I had so many comments that my makeup was amazing, that my natural features were beautifully enhanced. Despite some miscommunication with the wedding coordinator on my big day, she still remained a sweetheart and calmed my nerves when I was starting to feel the bridezilla in me come out when things were going as planned. She was one of the highlights of my wedding and I could not be happier. She’s just perfect. I’m so happy I found her.
My bridesmaids makeup and hair were done by her team, Nancy and Dzime, who were awesome too. The girls looked so beautiful and glamorous. I was just amazed at how wonderful and perfect everything turned out. Just really happy overall.

I went in for a trial with Rachanee and had mixed feelings. She did a great job with my make-​up. I loved it. It looked natural and the spray foundation held all day. However, for the hair, I felt like she didn’t listen to what I wanted. I came in with a picture and asked for loose and curly. She ended up doing a completely straight, cookie-​cutter type hairstyle. I like it alright, but it was NOT what I had asked for.
I was still planning on booking her and emailed later for another hair appointment to make sure I got the look I wanted. When I asked for the second trial, her husband Tod emailed me back (as the manager) and told me she had booked another wedding on the same day as mine (pretty far from my wedding) and believed she might be able to fit me in still if I would settle for an assistant stylist for my hair while she did my makeup and if none of my bridesmaids would require any services. I had already paid her $ 75 for the first trial! Needless to say, I was pretty disappointed and I honestly felt that she wasn’t very straightforward with me.
I’ll pass.

Rachanee made my wedding day experience wonderful. I had been going to her for my pre-​wedding trials for hair/​make-​up. She was very helpful and knowledgeable about my needs for my day. On the actual day of, she knew that with so many women to work on (6 bridesmaids and 1 mother-​in-​law) that she would need back-​up. There were two other assistants to help with hair and make-​up. My bridesmaids looked gorgeous and the experience was fun. My mother saw how beautiful the women looked and ended up getting her make-​up done as well! My make-​up felt light on my skin and was «just right» on the color. My hair had gone through some changes from curls to a twist on the day of. The style was simple, yet modern and elegant at the same time. It ended up feeling like me and not like other styles I always saw at weddings/​magazines. Rachanee worked hard to work with our schedule in time/​location. It was an experience that every woman getting married should have.

if i could give rachanee six stars i would! she is amazingly talented and professional and a sweet person on top of everything else. she did my hair and makeup on my wedding day and even returned in the afternoon to change my hair before the reception. she made me feel beautiful and that’s so important on your big day. i got great compliments from family and guests. she was incredibly patient during my trial and handled my requests and changes with no problem. i would recommend rachanee without hesitation.
while rachanee is wonderful, my only complaint would be that her other stylists who did hair and makeup needed more coaching and guidance, but once we voiced our opinions, they were happy to oblige.

I just had my wedding and I was very happy with working with her all the time. She does listen to you and respect your style.
My first trial went OK, but I was not really happy about the bumps on my cheek from rubbing air blush. So I told her which I don’t like about and I asked her to do the air blush different way on my wedding day. Then she offered me a second trial just for foundation. It was better than first time, but my all facial hair caught the air blush. She suggested me a threading. So I did, it was amazing how things worked out.
Also I got so many compliments about my wedding hair. Everyone liked it and of course I loved it too.

My wedding coordinator recommended Rachanee to me when I was looking for a hair/​make up artist. I went in for my trial and shared with her my vision of what I wanted to look like for my wedding day. Rachanee totally understood my ideas and spent a good deal of time on my hair/​makeup during the trial.
On the day of my wedding, she brought an assistant to help with my BM’s hair and make up. They both worked very hard and got everyone done in a timely manner. Throughout the day, everyone complimented me on how elegant I looked. Also, my hair was in place for the whole day. There was not a single strand of hair out of place!

I was looking for a hair and make up artist and stumbled upon Art OcCasions online. I booked with Rachanee the make-​up artist and hair stylist for my wedding day. Rachanee was very professional and was everything i expected it to be. She was punctual and very flexible. Rachanee even stayed after to help put my veil on my hair so that it doesn’t mess up. The price for me the BRIDE was $ 350. Not sure if that was good or expensive but it was within my budget. Thanks Rachanee for being genuine to me and to my bridal party.

Rachanee was wonderful to work with — I would highly recommend her! I chose her to work on my hair and make-​up for my wedding in June 2009. I actually ended up doing a few trials with her because I was indecisive on hair styles. She was very patient with me and very accommodating to my schedule and requests. On the day of the wedding, her work was even better than the trial and she spent a lot of time making sure that I liked the makeup and hair. My husband felt it looked very natural and loved it, which was a great compliment since he generally likes me without any makeup at all. I received a lot of compliments and never felt better!
I also asked her to do my bridesmaids’ hair. She brought an assistant with her the day of because I had 6 bridesmaids. I was a bit anxious about her assistant because I had never met her prior or seen her work. However, they both did a wonderful job and my bridesmaids’ hair looked amazing! In fact, my cousin has hair that never keeps their curls, but somehow Rachanee and her assistant made it so that her curls actually stayed the whole night! I was truly amazed! :)

In addition, I met with Rachanee for a consultation and we tried one type of foundation which I found to be a little heavy on my skin because I have oily skin. Rachanee had no problem scheduling me for a second consultation to try another type of foundation which worked a lot better on my skin. Rachanee also provided me with a clean up hair cut several weeks before the wedding which was very helpful because it saved me the trouble of going somewhere else just to have a trim. It was also helpful for me to have her cut my hair because she was also doing my hair for my wedding and she knew how much hair she needed to work with to provide me with my wedding hair style.
Rachanee also provided hair and makeup to some of my bridesmaids and they were all very happy with the results.

I am one of those girls who dislikes make up but wanted something special on the big day. Somehow Rachanee was able to create a look that reflected a natural but glamorous look without that «she’s wearing a lot of makeup look». Rachanee was professional, very friendly and listened to me throughout the process. On the actual day she was punctual, and kept me calm throughout. It was a wonderful experience and the end result was absolutely beautiful both in photos and in person. I highly recommend her services.

I had been looking for a hair/​makeup artist for my wedding and had a trial run with a gal with less than desired results, to put it mildly. She barely spoke english and did not understand what I wanted for my makeup look. I needed to find someone else who knew what they were doing!
So, I searched on the Web and luckily, I found Rachanee! After my first experience with that other gal, I was very careful because I didn’t want a repeat, so I asked questions and even brought pictures of what I wanted. I shouldn’t have worried — Rachanee turned out to be wonderful! She is a very pleasant person and knowledgeable about different makeup looks. We experimented with different styles and she has a very good eye for what makes you look your best. Rachanee was patient and friendly, like having your best friend there who wanted you to look your best on your special day.
Rachanee also did my hair in a beautiful upsweep style so I could wear my headpiece — a birdcage veil headband set with silk flowers and feathers. My hair is straight and different lengths and I was afraid that it would not stay up and sleek for the long day with the headband on it, but it didn’t budge and looked fantastic.
I received lots of compliments at the wedding, and now finally getting to look at the wedding pictures, I was very happy. Being an older bride (49), you wouldn’t think that looking at the pictures, it was more like mid-​30s! Yeah, I’m bragging, but it’s a great compliment to Rachanee, thanks, girl! As a matter of fact, my photographer liked it so much, she’s using my bridal portrait in her own ads!
Rachanee communicated very well by email and phone to double check things like place and times before the big day. She was even a bit early that day and was fully prepared with all her equipment and ready to go! I HIGHLY recommend her for her services, I wish there were other occasions I could come up with that I could use her again!
