Had a great Angus Steak and my husband had the Chicken Cordon Blue. Delicious! Staff was very nice and accommodating. One of the people in my party had a Bloody Mary they wanted to send back but they passed it around the table just to make sure it wasn’t just them thinking it was bad and it was awful same with the Sangria that another friend had. I stick with whiskey neat can’t go wrong there. I liked it so much we went there twice while we were in NY! Food was consistent.

The décor was outstanding. Food took a long, long time(and it wasn’t rush hour). Wait staff were friendly and professional… …but ultimately it’s about the food and calling it mediocre would be a kindness. I got the chicken cordon blue, and the supermarket version is much, much better. Chicken so tough it needed s steak knife to cut — and it wasn’t worth the effort to do so. Fellow diner wanted to send the fish back as it wasn’t fresh and the sauce was way off. The mashed potatoes were rock-like; overly stiff. My daughter(not usually picky) didn’t want to finish her kids Mac N Cheese and I could see /taste why. The Mexican street corn was, however, excellent — 9 out of 10. In sum, all around«blah» — won’t be returning ever. :-(

I REALLY didn’t want to have to review Sidetracks, because my boyfriend & I frequent the bar before/after working our restaurant jobs in the city. However, I feel compelled to warn the general public of my brunch experience. I ordered the Avocado Toast as a starter, chicken & waffles for my boyfriend, & the Sunnyside Benedict for myself. The toast dish was interesting, as we offer the same ingredients at my work restaurant, Catch, for the exact same price. However, sidetracks uses a tiny slice of what one could assume is Wonder Bread, while Catch offers a hearty, thick slice of Texas toast. If not for the sweet potatoes fries, I would have completely regretted the ordering the dish. The chicken & waffles… I WANTED to be optimistic, however the breading was just sad. Fried chicken should be crispy on the outside, juicy & tender on the inside. I’m from SC, I should know. This chicken tasted like dumplings on the bone. It’s not that the taste was bad, the experience just left more to be desired. & I’m not sure what batter they’re using for the waffles but I am no fan. The Benedict was another redeeming quality. Not really any complaints, no regrets. A safe option. I mean this review with no harm. I love sidetracks and will continue to come. However, the brunch menu clearly needs a facelift.

Had to book a last minute brunch after a funeral and was told about the place by a few friends. We were looking for something close to the cemetery because we had family from out state, who just don’t know the other parts of queens like myself. We called three days before the event and spoke to Mary, who couldn’t be any more nicer and friendlier. She was so helpful and guided us through booking the room in the back. They have three different packages for your event, all priced very reasonably(cost, tax and gratuity of 18% included). We had 30 people in the back room and i must say that the waiter, who was pretty much by himself, taking orders, serving drinks and food was awesome. He had to deal with some of my a$%hole family members and did so with grace and respect. He was very accommodating and very friendly. I was a little suspect of the food going in, but after the brunch i must say i was quite surprised. The food was delicious. It was three courses, starter: choice of either soup, salad or crab cakes. Main dishes: choice of either salmon, steak or chicken. Dessert: choice of either ice cream, cheesecake or crème brûlée. I had the Cesar salad, which was okay, chicken(with vegetables, small potatoes and a sherry sauce) which was really really good and then ice cream. I spoke to different family members who all had nothing but good things to say about the food and the service. Only reason i didn’t give it five stars was its was a little dark in one of the dining areas, which you had to walk through to get to the back room. Also there was a weird smell coming from kitchen area which is close to back area, fortunately it didn’t affect anyone sitting closer to the kitchen. Overall a great experience and would definitely recommend this place to anyone who needs a place to go for a brunch or private event.

Had a burger w/beer and I’m satisfied. This place is divided into two sides, one side is for dining and the other side for drinking. Saturday night and it’s a decent crowd. Crowd ratio today is more guys than anything but some girls did come out tonight. As for the food: burger was delicious but the fries were burned. Could’ve been a pain and asked for an exchange but I rarely do that. The time I waited was pretty prompt and the service was fine. Overall, nice spot.

It’s good! I feel like it’s probably the only place to great a really good brunch on the weekends in Sunnyside. To be fair there is better food around the corner and down the block. Some truly gourmet things are happening in this neighborhood. This isn’t about that. Sidetracks is a solid, unpretentious, reliable meal. It’s good food in a clean environment. I called it the best diner in town and my wife corrected me, saying it’s more like a casual restaurant. That’s fine. But it just replaced all the diners in my book!

Good service! Cold beer! Great food! Always a smile at the bar when we come in. The bartenders are attentive and nice. Food is always good no matter what we’ve gotten. And happy hour is until 8! It’s a favorite neighborhood spot.

Horrible food and service. I came here to grab a quick bite to eat with my girlfriend. I got a burger and she got a chicken qesedilla. My burger was bland with soggy burnt fries. The qesedilla tasted like it came out a microwave. The service was slow and uncaring. Try the diner next door, way better food and the friendliest people ever.

Finally there is a bar in NY that I am an actual local. If you live around Sunnyside or Woodside, this is an awesome spot to hang out since it is super convenient, very spacious, much cleaner than most of the bars and they have a pretty extensive menu. I keep forgetting the exact hours of their happy hour since I never make it there on time but they have happy hours. I would say with food and beer choices they keep it very safe, you would not find anything very unique or interesting like local brews or interesting dishes but they always deliver good food and service. overall atmosphere is very laid back, ambiance has a mixture of local business crowd and occasional families here and there. some Thursday or Friday nights they have live band playing, or showing big game. If you are new to one of the nearby neighborhood, it is a good place to get sense of your neighborhood.

This is the kind of place that you come for dinner then want to stay for cocktails. The décor is modern, warm and elegant. It definitely has a hint of chic-ness to it. The food has always been served to my liking. They have your basics burgers, salads and steaks. I must say, they have a pretty good French onion soup and crab cakes. Mary is always sweet and welcoming. She even took a call for me as I was running late to meet my dad here one evening. Thanks Mary! I don’t know why the other reviews have commented on the poor staff, maybe they were new? As long as my belly is happy I am content.

My son and I come here weekly. They have a great kids menu selection at a reasonable price. The food is great and service fast and friendly. The crab cake sandwich is amazing. This is also a nice place to catch an evening game at the bar. Two thumbs up.

Ordered 2 sodas and 2 entrees. No entrée after 1HR. Switch in servers and 1st «forgot» to put in our order. I get it, mistakes happen. Asked for check to goto somewhere else, would have expected sodas to be comped. Instead got a bill for $ 6.50. I’ve spent a lot of $ there… private parties, etc. verdict = ok food and drinks, lousy service. NOTGOOD!

I came here for thanksgiving and the thanksgiving menu was so delicious! :) This was my first thanksgiving in New York and I was very much pleased, tasted just like home. Although I missed my moms cooking, sidetrack did the job! Also the Irish bartender Mick was awesome, he was very attentive and super nice! Will go back again if I get the chance to :)

Very good food and nice staff. Not too loud… very good vibe for talking. A good variety of people there so it’s not a typical bar. Definitely a place I’ll be going back to.

Not bad for the only place open in Sunnyside on a Thursday. Good selection of beer. I would advise to stay away from the appetizers however, they were over priced and tasted like they were microwave. Good place if you’re trying to stay close to home… For a weekend or a night out I would not recommend.

Happy hour is from 4 – 8 with very little selection of beers and other drinks. Came around casually for a drink with one friend and our service was very slow. We sat ourselves and didn’t get any help for at least 15 minutes. When trying to ask for check it was another 15 minutes of trying to get the servers attention. Eventually I had to take my check to the bar and ask for it to get it settled. Do yourself a favor and find another happy hour place to go to– so many options around this area

Came here to kill an hour at happy hour with a friend since we had somewhere to go a block away. Nice décor. Pretty spacey. My only complaint was that the waiter took 10 minutes to take our bill. He was standing around seemed to have forgotten about us. We actually had to go up to the bar and ask for our waiter because we were going to be late for our event. But other than that, I would go back only if I’m in the area. I wouldn’t go out of my way to go there.

I came here for a Christmas dinner, so I’m not sure this is a fair review of their normal menu. However, I felt the Christmas experience was enough. Overall, this is a run of the mill establishment. The food tasted like it was frozen and reheated. Service was friendly and prompt, given it was a holiday. The prices were average, but you can certainly get better food for the same price in the neighborhood. I was not a fan of the décor. It felt dated while simultaneously trying too hard to look cool. If you’re looking for a place to eat reheated American food set in a restaurant/bar with lots of tv’s, this is your place. If you want a place with more character, try elsewhere.

We came here for drinks and decided to stay for dinner. The food tasted ok. I ordered the New Orleans Saints burger which included sweet potato fries. The Po’ boy sandwich tasted great. However, the fries tasted dry and some tasted very soggy like left over from the previous day. The waiter apologized and quickly remedied the problem by giving me fresh fries. I like the ambiance. It caters to the yuppie crowd. Close to the 7 train, it is a good place to meet with friends for a couple of drinks or dinner. Aside from easy transportation, you can walk around the neighborhood with ease. I gave this place 3 stars due to my experience with the bad fries.
