Great fresh fresh fresh meat selection and great friendly staff! On top of that, the price is very very reasonable. You don’t need to speak Spanish to order your meat here, which is another plus.

This place has fresh meats, quick service, and good prices selling South American style cuts. Always look forward to buying stuff here. They also have a good Yerba mate section.

They have been around forever. I remember my mom use to purchase all her meats from this butcher well over 20 years ago. It is family owned which makes it that much better.
Now down to the nitty gritty. I recently moved back to the neighborhood and needed a butcher who carries a high grade minimally processed product at a reasonable price. As much as I love Whole Foods, their prices in beef are astronomical. My search is over. Las Americas is by far the best place in the Woodside/​Sunnyside area. The store is clean, organized, the meats are ALWAYS fresh, the staff is very friendly and helpful. What more can you ask for. «)

Plus, they have these frozen packs of fruit pulp that I love mixing with seltzer.
That last part was dumb but true.

These people CARE about selling you good food. Big time. The place reeks of pride and service. Super busy. Their Columbian chorizos casera are an obsession for me. Language has never been an issue for me once they realize I don’t speak spanish (though I’ve had to listen for my number to be called in Spanish). They moved around the corner 4 years ago onto 46^th st half a block south of Greenpoint Ave.

The folks here have an excellent meat selection. They serve the Latino population in this neighborhood and the quality of the meat is excellent. Some of the cuts are particular to Central and South American tastes but with a bit of Spanish and the picture board or help from Junior all issues can be resolved. The owners select their cuts at market so most of the meat is prime or the choice stuff they pick up on the cheap with the kind of fat marbling that would make you think it’s prime. There are some fine ‘lesser’ cuts for under $ 6/​lb with great marbling that make great roasts, The ribs have great marbling, the brisket is always really good looking and they always have a T-​bone/​Porterhouse on hand. The one time they had a rib roast I took a 3 bone cut and it was amazing with plenty of fat cap, I cut it into thick steaks and it was savory. I also just put together a custom burger blend that is really tasty.
If you speak Spanish or are willing to work around the language issue this is some of the best value meat I’ve found in either Manhattan or Queens.
