A high end salon established in 2008 by Owner Zhanna a master stylist with flare for the art of cutting edge style and updo’s. With over 20 years in the beauty industry, Zhanna continues to spread her brand of beauty located in Sunnyside Queens.

Zhanna Normatov is not only an employee but co-​founder of Demi Salon & Co. With an amazing career that spans over 20 years from her start at Hollywood Salon, Zhanna moved on to open her own, now Demi Salon.

Her varied talents and interests from beautician, cosmetologist, nail technician and esthetician, have catapulted her from «just your regular Master stylist» to a highly sought after power house in the beauty and bridal industry for her intricate custom up-​dos as well as flawless make up applications.

Dedication, professionalism, and education, Zhanna over sees that her stylist’s are kept abreast of the latest trends in the industry with instructive sessions on styling and up-​dos. Helping to organize a uniformed group of stylists, which are adaptive to all hair types.

She specializes in hair styling, up-do’s, coloring such as, double process, foil highlighting and corrective color techniques, assesses hair for hair treatments, pedicure, manicure, facials and waxing.

I came here, and who would have thought they have pink Instamatic hair dyes.
I did my hair the beautifulest classyest Pink-​blond I have ever seen.
Its so pretty I adore it.
When I thought the color was too dark the stylist immediately jumped to correct it.
The receptionist is the sweetest girl ever.

The hairdresser Leana almost burned my head with her blowdryer by putting the temperaturee on extreme high. She was very rude. How could someone calll customer a cheap when they charge you about 50 bucks a hair cut. I give about 15%-25% of tips when I get my hair cut depending on the hair dresser service. She sprayed the hair spray all over my body. My conscience remained stable, otherwise could have called on cops on her. She was speaking in her own language with other dreesers to bitch about me. Hey, mind you! Gave u $ 4 tips, that was good one for the work u did on me, shouldnt have given a single dime as a tip. Never her again. I like Carmen, but I dont think ill go there again.

I always have Zhanna Cut and style my hair because she is amazing! I have thin fine hair so it’s hard to make it look full but she works magic with styling and layers and always has me leave feeling beautiful and fabulous! She makes my hair look wonderful and is also very gentle and careful when cutting, combing, styling and blow drying. All the ladies at Demi Salon Sunnyside are very sweet and friendly and helpful! Zhanna is my number 1 stylist in the NYC area! :)

Went in for a cut & color! I specifically asked for an expert stylist because I am really picky about my hair. I have long thick hair so I know that beginners and amateurs ALWAYS fuck it up. This used to be my go to Salon 1 – 2 years back when they first opened and they had actual good stylists who gave me some of my fav haircuts. Since then, the business has completely declined (their stylists left) and they are not worth the price. $ 60 color $ 50 cut (although not the most expensive) for the results I am really disappointed! I had the owner who is supposed to be the «expert» but the layers came out choppy (not blended in at all) you can clearly see the cut. The color job was also not done right. My roots were darker then my hair, so I wanted a darker shade in order to give my hair a uniform color. The shade came out too light and the dark roots are still noticeable. Over all I would not recommend this place. Overpriced for their «quality». The people are friendly but I mainly care about my hair and my appearance. I would consider this a $ 15 hair cut! That’s practically what you are getting at this salon except they charge you $ 50 and I would pay that plus some, if I got a decent cut!

Don’t waste your time or money! A friend of mine went here and asked for an ashy dirty blonde color with highlights and left with a burnt scalp, orange roots and dark tips! After re-​dying her hair 4 TIMES they had the audacity to try to charge her a 100 $ for the horrendous job they did. She left 40 $ just because her mom said she shouldn’t leave without paying at all. Overall, just go anywhere else, not worth it!

I’ve been coming to this salon for almost three years now. I’ve only ever had Zhanna or Megan cut and blow dry my hair, therefore I’ve had nothing but good experiences. Megan has been doing my hair for the past two years, and I think she’s amazing!
I let Megan color my hair for the first time last year, and I loved it so much that I went back and did more. I’m not sure what the coloring style is called, but it’s kind of similar to an ombré and highlights, except the colors were blended and applied very lightly for a more natural look; and it was done without touching my roots. It’s EXACTLY what I wanted! I get compliments on my hair color all the time, and I always refer people to Megan. She’s the best!

I’ve done my hair and my nails a couple times @ Demi Salon and it looked great. Last time when I was there, Zhanna was the one taking care of my nails (hot Red) and hair (blow dry). During my visit we had a friendly chat and she recommended and demonstrated on my hair a few products to help keep my fly-​aways tamed, which was very useful.
The atmosphere at the salon is very relaxing and friendly. Zhanna was able to sense how tense my hands were and told me to relax. Even I was unaware of that. The salon is relatively big and feel very spacious, not clattered.
One of my friends who recommended this salon still only comes to Demi Salon to do her nails, even though she moved from the area.

Really great service. Although there was some discrepancy with the computer system and my appointment, in which I got a bit testy about, they were able to help me on the spot. I really liked my hair stylist and assistant, Nancy and Ashley. Zara was also nice. They were all professional and personable. It was the first time I got a perm. Really cool people. They also seem to have a great manicure — pedicure deal which I really want to take advantage of the next time I come back. Great experience overall.

I forgot to write a review for this salon but to help my neighbors avoid disappointment I figured better late than never.
Figured a pretty salon in the neighborhood would have to be good but I was wrong. I came to this salon for color correction and the women who tried to correct it just couldn’t get it right. I let her do my hair two different times and gave up after my second visit, they also had raised the prices and informed me after my appointment. Receptionist was also rude every time I came to the salon.
I don’t want to say the name of the women that did my hair because I don’t want to hurt her business but unless you just want your hair blow dried for an occasion I wouldn’t trust this salon.

This salon has a new (ish) owner, but if you check their website, the worst hairdresser in New York still works there. The prices are great (it is Queens, after all), but do not have a girl called Janice cut your hair. She has no idea how to properly cut bangs. And she hurried through my hair so quickly, I thought the place was on fire. At least my bangs grew out fast and I had them fixed by another salon. Too bad I had to pay twice.
Have Janice cut your hair if you want an 80’s lopsided look. She must have one bad eye, because she can’t cut straight. Never again. It was my first time at Demi and I won’t be back.

I used to come here all the time for Zara (Zhanna?). I give her 5 stars hands down for her way with scissors.
HOWEVER… One evening appointment she had an emergency and had to leave so I walked in and was asked if it was ok if someone else cut my hair. I said sure. The «upgraded» me to this apparent «master stylist» Janice. BIGGEST MISTAKE EVER.
One, she was giving someone else highlights while she agreed to cut my hair, and kept running back and forth.
Two, I had two photos which she DID NOT FOLLOW at all because she said what she was doing would look better. On this note, I had pretty short hair and she just went ahead and made it shorter.
Three, I got really upset and when I confronted her about, she had the audacity to say «I know what I am doing, I taught Zara how to cut hair.» and proceeded to argue with me. Very professional.
I have never cried in a hair salon before. I cried. I looked like a boy and hated the style and then she actually told me I owed her 60 $. I gave her 20 and told her to find a new profession.
I have not been back since, which is said because I really liked Zara a lot. Sad I can’t give her business because of Janice.

I had the worst haircut and color I’ve ever had in my entire life at this salon by a woman called Janice.
Not only was she unfriendly, but the haircut was completely uneven and was not blended at all. When I asked her mid-​cut a question about what she was doing, she gave me such attitude, as if I was an idiot for questioning her. I should have up and walked out. It was the beginning of a 6-​month nightmare.
The owner refused to refund my money and said he would rather «fix my hair», so I agreed to come back and have another stylist work on me. The look on the second stylist’s face when she ran a comb through my hair and saw the botch-​job that was my haircut, was priceless. At one point, her mouth literally fell open. I said, «Told you so!» She shook her head and continued trying to fix the mess on my head.
The color was so bad, I ended up just covering it at home and while I appreciated the second girl’s attempt to fix the shitty cut, it was so bad in the first place that it was hopeless. I wore my hair in a ponytail for the entire spring and summer until enough grew out so I could go elsewhere for a cut.
What a complete waste of money and time. I highly recommend you go somewhere else. Anywhere else.

After looking for a couple of places on Sunday This was the only one open… maybe it was a sign.
I walked right in and got a great wash/​cut from Megan. We went over what I was looking for and unlike some many stylist, she gave me exactly what I asked for. I was very pleased with the whole kit & kaboodle.
