If this company hired people with some intelligence and/​or who had some integrity of their work, then i wouldn’t be so upset. They need to establish better communications within the different departments… I informed them of the situation; one dept. says «yes» and the other says «no». They should have told me asap if there was a problem. If you use this company, make sure you get a well trained employee who knows all the company policies…

Effective February 2016, customers will be gouged $ 3 per entry instead of $ 2 [that is a %33 increase!] Worse, to visit their «Primo» section is an ADDITIONAL $ 3. You better pray the cars from which the parts you are seeking are available because if not, you will be out $ 6 If you can stomach that then fine but it is a gamble with questionable returns. Their prices are approaching retail levels on many parts. God, how I miss the days when this place did not belong to greedy LKQ.

This place sucks. All the cars are beat up and have no salvageable parts. Tax is high as well. They don’t have 50% off sales anymore, now it’s 40%. I recommend checking ebay first.

My opinion on this yard. I used to avoid this yard back when Addlen bros was open. I preferred Addlen bros because it was a better yard. Now we have LKQ as the only game in town. This is not good. I feel their prices are high and they seem to nickel and dime you to death. I was in the yard earlier this week,. The cars there seemed to be about as picked thru as a flea market. The primo yard is the only place where you may find something decent. Then the chances of you just leaving the part at the front are high. Why buy their crap when it’s price seem to be nearing specialty yards, eBay, etc etc? I hope someone opens another self service yard here. Problem is that’s probably not gonna happen. Space, environmental concerns will probably kill that idea. This is my opinion I have been going to this yard since I was first able. Now I avoid it, try it yourself and see how my review stacks up. Jipped! I used to really like this place, $ 2 entry and I don’t mind paying the extra $ 2 entry into the primo parts, since that’s where my car parts always seem to be. I liked this place because you can look up their inventory online to see if they have cars in that match yours (now with pictures!), and for 4^th generation mustangs there are always options to choose from. I’ve had great experiences here in the past, after I crashed my car I was able to save some money and fix some things with some junkyard parts at reasonable prices. It is true however that the parts from the primo yard are more expensive than those of the regular yard, but when you’re saving money overall you deal.
Previously, I bought a hood from here (maybe $ 65?) and airbags in great condition for $ 75 which is good, considering. But, today. I just went in for a driver’s side mirror replacement. Primo yard, no big deal. Found the section with the Mustangs, and someone had literally SHAT behind a car next to the wall. There was literally human shit next to the cars. Horrendous. I find my loyal mustang subjects, dissect a car for my purposes, and go stand in line to pay (8 ppl in a slow moving line, I have never seen a line here before). A girl opens another window and I get ready to pay as she charges me. I was hoping for like $ 8, no more than $ 20. She tells me $ 29.75 and I just stared at her. What?! I thought I hadn’t hear correctly but she confirmed. Ahead of me at another window, a man was charged $ 160 for a dash panel. He thought he heard $ 60 and repeated it, the cashier confirmed his price as well. Needless to say, we both left our items there.
Now that I am home, I looked up the price for a side mirror. On the LKQ SunValley website, side mirrors are $ 12.29. She tried to charge me double what was listed on the website! Whole dashboards are listed at $ 109.49. I walked away offended. You can buy a brand new side mirror for $ 30! And you don’t have to go scrounge around in the sun getting dirty and avoiding piles of human dump. I BOUGHT THIS PART BRAND NEW ON EBAY FOR $ 21.75 With free shipping, and a warranty, and from my house. I don’t know if it’s because the U Pick Parts is closing that this place inflated their prices or what. But I was offended they actually believed I would be stupid enough to pay $ 30 for a dirty ass used side mirror.
Rubbish.

Shop around first because the prices here are like if you are getting them from the dealer. And the cashiers are quick to stamp the customer declined warranty on the receipt with out even asking you. They do that so you won’t be able to return them.

My first visit was today. I was quoted a substantial amount for a wiring ‘pigtail’ from a dismantler. While I was looking for their location, I noted this place. I went to their website and determined I might be able to get the same thing for ¹⁄₃ of the quote. I checked to see if they had Saturns on the lot and was satisfied by the list I might have a good chance of finding what I was looking for. So the dismantler became «Plan B».
The staff were nice, I paid my $ 2 admission fully knowing I might have to upgrade to get to the Primo lot but I took my chances.
Bingo, the third Saturn I found had exactly what I needed. I also picked up another part for the trunk light. I’m thinking I’ll pay $ 13-​$ 15 by what the price list on the website listed.
There were no lines so I actually had a hard time finding the cashier.
I paid $.98 for EACH. Two bucks! I was thrilled. Now I’m looking at my almost 20 year old car to see what else I should go look for. Even with the admission fee, I saved $ 40.
This was my first ever to a junk yard. I didn’t find it particularly dirty as some people have said. I thought it was pretty well organized. Not sure what the fuss is about, I was happy.

I had the unfortunate opportunity to visit this yard.
The place is absolutely filthy, I walked past HUMAN FECES. There’s glass everywhere, some of the vehicles are precariously perched and a slight nudge will knock them over. There are parts and broken parts everywhere. The selection is limited but fortunately I was able to find something useful, even though it wasn’t a perfect fit, I MacGyvered it. Imports are trashed and most domestics are still in tact. Those cars look like they’ve been there for months. The ‘primo’ yard is ridiculous because most of the cars there are destroyed anyway. Prices are ridiculous as well, we paid 40 for a few electrical plugs. Anywhere else they would’ve been a dollar.

If there is a 0 star option. I wood rate 0 with no any star. People!!! Don’t go to this jaaaaaaank yard… f…k. Ya… man for real… 0 costumer service. and much more… wasting time for 0
their web they have a prius on their list, but not in their yard. balllll seeeet conversation with a corporate office!!! I will call to legal authorities to look after them for real… they collect your money with no recid… and Mach more…

Out of all the Pick your Part yards this one is by far the most expensive. The employees are rude and the managers are worse. They all need a good lesson in customer service. All of the yards in southern California offer a 20% military discount except for this one. If you really want to save money go the u pick u pull that is about a mile away, prices there are way cheaper and fair, the customer service is awesome, you will find a cleaner yard with more vehicles to choose from. Do yourself a favor and stay away from this yard, the turn around for their cars is very slow with cars going 4+ months.

I bought a part the turned out to be broken. They say I cannont get my money back or get a different part without a warrentee. Someone please tell these guys that a warranty is for a certain period of service and not a guarantee the part works when it is installed. I will be going to U Pull Parts from now on which is only 1 mile away and has more car inventory. Popeye at the gate confirmed this is a fair post after reading it today.

Don’t waste your time. Back in the 1990s, this was a good deal, I fixed up an 1982 Corolla front end entirely from parts from this place.
But I came here recently for a 1997 Honda CRV and there was NOTHING. I think with the popularity of the internet, maybe they sell the best parts through through some other venue. Or they’re having difficulty finding new stock, now that other folks can sell parts direct on the internet.
The Primo lot where you pay an extra entrance fee for «newer» cars had cars from the 1990s!
It’s no longer the bargain that it used to be; better to find the parts you need on the internet.

If I can give this junkyard 0 star, I would.
I haven’t been to this place in 2 years, so I gave it another try, due to some of the positives reviews. Not to mention it was ½ off weekend. Boy have things changed… for the worst
Foremost, if you are into pre-​1995 trucks and imports, this is the junk yard for you. If you are into pre-​1995 Ford/​GM vehicles or anything post-​1995, DO NOT EVEN THINK ABOUT COMING HERE.
The yard used to have 5 sections (left to right):
1. Imports
2. Ford
3 & 4 Chrysler-​GM (Chrysler was in front of GM section)
5. Truck/​Van
Sounds simple right? Now look at the current yard:
1. Imports
2, 4, 1 Ford-​GM-​Imports (all behind each other)
3, 4, 5 Chrysler-​GM-​Trucks (all behind each other)
5. Truck/​Van
Yes, Ford section is cut short and almost just as SMALL as Chrysler section is.
Yes, GM section actually takes up space where the current Ford section ends. Plus MORE Imports also take up space in this section as well… more than both Ford and GM put together SMDH
If that’s not worst enough for the American vehicle visitors, this will be. Even though GM shares a bit of Ford section, it’s main section has been cut off dry by MORE Trucks/​Vans.
Let’s not even forget about the long lines here, cashier windows closing right in front of your face, infrequent bottled lukewarm water giveaways while we bask in the long lines and heat, etc. All that stuff still exist.
My last visit had me walking down isles of pre-​1995 of Ford and GM cars. Now those sections are almost as small as the Chrysler section. Wow!
Primo yard still claims to have newer year models than rest of junk yard. BULL! A trip there shows a majority of Imports/​trucks no newer than 1999. The newest I’ve seen was maybe a 2001 that was stripped of all the commonly pulled stuff (headlights, tail lights, mirrors, door panels, seats, etc). That lot echoes the regular lot, in terms of catering to Import/​Truck customers and having VERY SMALL selection for American cars (Ford/​GM/​Chrysler).
I couldn’t find anything here really. But I didn’t want to make it seem like I came here for nothing. So I ended up taking a light switch up to cashier. It clearly has a non-​tier price of $ 9.99 (listed under «head lamp switch (dash)»). So I new I had this idiot cashier, no matter how big the light switch is, he can only charge me 1 price and not a stupid tier G3, G4, etc. pricing. Not true. He said «let me see switch.» I gave it to him. Then the idiot said «it has fog light control» I gotta charge you for fog light ($ 5.99 for fog lamp). I laughed at that as well. #1, I don’t have a damn fog light. Just a light switch from a junk car. but also since it’s 50% of day, $ 2.99 + $ 4.99 is nothing. But I wasn’t about to let this idiot charge me for a fog light just because the switch has fog light controls. He sounds like a fool with his head cut off. But before I can say anything, he gives me price. It was over $ 20.00. I’m laughing while looking at the actual price of a headlight switch on my smart phone. I ask him what did he charge me for? He shows me screen. This idiot charged me for headlight switch, fog light,…and guess what else??? Molding plastic G5 lol. How much is the molding plastic in G5 tier? $ 19.99 lol. So since its 50% off day, he tried to get me for another $ 9.99. Let’s tally up:
$ 9.99 head lamp switch (dash)

$ 19.99 Molding Plastic G5 (highest tier pricing for molding plastic)
I know it says 3 items. But I only had 1 lol.

Bottomline, if you ever come to any LKQ Pick You Part location, ALWAYS consult price list before you buy. They have the price list for EVERYTHING they sell there. Don’t ask them the price. Just go to website. Also, don’t let them charge you for anything you don’t have. I only had 1 light switch. but this idiot tried to charge me for plastic molding and a fog light.
They really overcharge you with anything that offers tier pricing (that g1, g2, g3 crap)…especially on 50% because you get ½ those days. Try not to get anything with tier pricing. if you do, expect a g4 on up pricing, no matter how big your item is. I will NEVER give this hell hole another chance. There are way better junk yards than this crap.
Pretty sad that another UNRELATED Sun Valley junk yard on Penrose also converted to Import/​Truck/​Van majority and put good old American (Ford/​GM/​Chrysler) all the way to the rear. Their prices were way better than this Sun Valley Pick Your Part dump, but they don’t meet my needs any longer.

I had a ’90 Volvo 240DL. It was awesome until it wasn’t. Pick Your Part was a new concept to me, towing away your car that doesn’t work, and paying you $ 250 for it. They were very nice over the phone, I was able to set up the tow/​purchase after a phone inquiry of the process and a follow up phone call they made to see if I was still interested in selling it (maybe two days later).
Here’s the area of opportunity that I hope my fellow consumers avoid:
When I spoke with Pick Your Part a third time, to arrange the tow and purchase, my quote changed $ 225. When I inquired why there was a difference in price after 3 days, I was told, «That’s just the price.» Since the car needed to be out of my life, I accepted their changed offer. I guess it was worth an extra $ 25 to them because I called back. That makes sense right?
I do have a theory, that the amount of times I called was recorded, and knowing that they keep dropping the price because they know you will sell anyway. Just be cautious, as they have proved to me, that they’d rather take $ 25 from me (having no idea if I really need that or not) because they can, no other reason.
Other than an extremely questionable morale compass, I’d recommend them. They were efficient, and I’m hoping my car [parts] finds a good home.

I gave this place a try today thinking the weekend would be more crowded. Did not matter though, lines where still slow. I EVEN HAD A GIRL AT THE REGISTER CLOSE THE WINDOW ON Me after waiting in a 2 person line. LAMESVILLE over here. Also lame are the RESELLERS that lurk the place, trying to claim parts where ever they see fit. PRETTY MUCH TAKING THE USABLE. To end on a good note i found the parts i was looking for.

I have not been there in years until recently. WOW what a change and nightmare it has become.
First things first: ANY and ALL tools you bring in make sure you have them engraved or marked with an obvious identifying mark! Not just initials but something that PROVES it’s yours! When leaving the wannabe TSA employee tried to claim my torque wrench was theirs! I told them to call the Police and sat down to wait. They let me leave 5 minutes later probably after LAPD told them to pound sand and would not come.
Now the experience:
When I walked in I told the clerk I needed a passenger door armrest for an F350 in Red and asked if they might have one. I was harshly told that there are millions of parts and she did not know. Pay the 2 bucks and go see. OK, fun time is about to start!
I had read some of the recent reviews and knew it was not going to be the way it once was so I did a reviewer a solid! I brought $ 3.27 in pennies. (After all no bills over 20) is all the sign says and pennies are legal tender. I dropped them on the counter and explained there was more than 2 bucks, she would need to count it because «I need prescription glasses and only brought my safety glasses.» Worked like a charm.
Once inside I looked, I dug and after over hour of no love I went to leave only to be introduced to the guy that is going to look through my tool box. (Mr Torque wrench)
As I sat and waited for the Police I notice there suddenly is the exact part I am looking for sitting behind the counter.
When I offer to buy already pulled part, «That’s for a customer. It’s already sold.»
Really? Alrighty. hope you made 5 or 6 bucks on the part because I won’t be back and would have gone 20 just to get it.
Go around the corner. The area is full of parts yards that are staffed by people who enjoy their jobs.

Waste of time if you car is less than 10 years old.
If part is what you need, it will be gone by the time you get there.
If it is what you don’t need, it will be picked off by resellers already.
(Note that the staff here pulls high demand parts too to sell separately — see below)
LOCATION: Industrial area off of Glenoaks. Huge lot.
STAFF: Not helpful. Will double charge you admission if you have a newer/​late model car since newer cars are in the «Primo» section. Will search your toolbox or belongings after you leave.
ENVIRONMENT: Cement lot, not dirt which is nice. All cars on support blocks so you can get under them. Most of the cars are from the 80s to 90s and were crap to begin with.
Resellers — not people actually needing the part — have already stripped the most desirable parts that can sell easily or retain value (Mirrors, Catalytic Converters, Wheels, Airbags, Headlight assemblies) and have damaged the interior while pulling airbags and stereos.
Cars are sorted by Import, Domestic and Primo. Primo = more common or desirable cars (BMW 3 series, Honda Accord, Toyota Camry, Domestic Rental fleet type cars) that are so stripped by the time you get there, it is only a bare chassis in several cases. Note once you pay $ 2 to get in, you pay another $ 2 to go to Primo.
When going into the Primo section, you walk through a turnstyle and past the cashier who has parts for sale behind them on a wall. What parts? Very good condition, in demand OEM parts for popular cars (e.g. Honda & Lexus stereos, tailights, grills etc.) being sold at higher prices than advertised on the website. What’s the point of coming here to try and get a deal if these jerks already picked off some of the best stuff to sell themselves rather than let a first come, first served method be in place?
SUMMARY: 5% Hit, 95% Miss. Stick to eBay, Craigslist or Car Forums.

It’s a big junk yard with a couple thousand cars propped up in the air and their hoods all open so people can get at ‘em. Seems like 95% from the mid 80’s thru mid 90’s, nothing really «OLD» old. There are no hidden gems here, not even close.
My only real problemo with the joint was when I gave them a $ 5 bill to get in they gave me back $ 2 in nickels for change. I told the kid he couldn’t be serious. He laughed. Now I know why he works at a junk yard.

It all started when I rolled down my window to order my dopio espresso at a Starbucks drive thru window. It was a cold morning and I was eager to get some hot coffee to warm up. Coffee in hand, I drove off ready to start my day. I flip the power window switch to shut the window… and nothing happens! I start clicking the switch even more aggressively like those folks who hit the walk button at a crosswalk 20 times thinking it will happen faster that way… Still nothing. The frosty air is just canceling out the car heater so I’m feeling the chills. It’s not fun having a window that opens but doesn’t close. I come to find out i’ve got a broken window regulator!
This part is not complicated to replace but local part stores do not carry it. The dealer was charging a couple hundred for it. EBay was a little better but I decided to check out Pick Your Part in Sun Valley. You pay $ 2 admission, bring your own tools to pull the part you need and go hunting in their vast lot of late model and older cars. The cars are divided by domestic and imports. They happened to have two cars like mine and I found window regulators in good condition. It was fun yanking your own part and it only cost me $ 30. At that price I decided to buy regulators for the rest of my windows so I’ve got them handy when they decide to roll down and die.
I’ve been to the yard twice since and found more parts at really low prices. You can buy whole engines and transmissions if you need them. If you don’t mind getting a little dirty and want to save some dough so you can blow it on other luxuries, check out Pick Your Part. It’s a good option when aftermarket parts are ridiculously priced at a stealership and the local auto parts store doesn’t carry OEM parts. I’m a fan!

What a DAY!!! I woke up at 7am today and it was a Sunday. I am not heading to work, I am not heading to business. What is so important to do today?! Today was my first visit to a HUGE Junkyard. When I wrote a review a couple days ago about going to a junkyard, they were very small, but the one I went today… was literally a GRAVEYARD of cars.
I went arrived around 8:15am to a big parking lot. Possibly the size of a mid-​size movie theatre. As I was approaching the entrance, I noticed that the guys had tools and good thing I brought my wrench and screwdriver with me since I was looking for another Acura CL mirror for a cheap price. Admission for the main area is $ 2.00.
If you want to re-​enter, you must have your hand stamped especially when you got a lot of parts on your cart or hand. They have the domestic right when you enter and the imports on the left side. So many dead cars. Look at my pictures. I walked for 45 minutes back and forth to search for my car, but I did not see an Acura CL.
I walked back to the entrance and saw they had a Customer Service Section. I asked if they had a Acura CL, but they don’t keep electronic inventory of it. Eeeek. It would be perfect if they had it and I can search faster. However, they referred me to the Primo Section. This section is the aftermarket section and admission is additional $ 2. So, admission is $ 4 for everything.
The Primo Section did have the Acura CL I was looking for, but it was totally stripped… BOOOO. I guess my car is very rare. I am glad that I know this place, but since my car is rare. They have a portable water washing area especially when you have dug through all the oil, dirt, and dust in the area. When you leave, the employees will check your bag if you have taken anything.
I will have to be going to specific places for the car mirror. Also, I am glad I went in the morning. Right now, its 104 Degrees. Its probably 120 with the cars all hot. Oh well, I didn’t find my part, but another Unilocaler may be able find their part here.
