Cal Pet Crematory

Sadly I had to use their services again but they make the whole process so easy. Their three giant poodles don’t hurt either (I actually look forward to seeing the dogs when I’m picking up ashes — ironic huh?). Linda was very kind as always and Gabriel, who took my initial phone call, was professional, patient, and caring. Cal Pet helps make the last part of losing a pet simpler and stress free. Thank you folks!

Thank you for your kindness, professionalism and care of my cats. The service you provide helps bring some kind of peace and finality to those of us fortunate enough to be able to afford t his service. It also felt better actually going to pick her up, rather than having her ‘delivered’ as with my previous cat. A little hard to find, but also dignified in that it is not in a strip mall :) Thank you again, and much love to all who at some point have or will have to use your services.

I rarely write Unilocal reviews, but wanted to review Cal Pet Crematory. I lost my 9 yr Golden Retriever last week and Cal Pet Crematory did the cremation. I felt that everybody who interacted with me (from initial phone calls, to staff on site) treated me and my dog with dignity, ensured that he would be cremated by himself, etc. etc.. I asked if I could have a final goodbye with my dog prior to cremation, and they allowed it and it was great closure. It’s not easy and tears will flow. Flowers, photos and other items that were special were placed on his body that were cremated with him, and more importantly, I got to say my last words to him. I cared for my dog since he was 10 weeks, and ensured he left this world and was cremated with dignity. Cal Pet provided this. I returned a few hours later for his ashes his clay paw prints. I used Cal Pet one time prior, and had a similar good bye to that dog at their crematory and same positive experience with them. I know that 99 percent of people that cremate their pet say good bye to their pets at the vet and don’t necessarily get as involved as I did, but for me it was important closure I’d recommend them to any pet owner considering cremation.

I recently lost my furry best friend and it was one of the hardest things I’ve had to go through. Calpet was recommended to me by my vet’s office and as soon as I called them, they arranged a pick up time. It’s $ 40 for pick up and delivery of ashes back to your home. I was somewhat scared about the pick up but when the guy came, he was very respectful in the way he handled my ACE and he was very patient and understanding with me and my family’s grief. The following day, I called and asked if I can bring my own urn to place the ashes and they told me to come on in. I thought I was only going to drop off the urn but I was able to bring ACE back home that day.

Compassionate, caring and kind… When my cat, Speedy died after 19 years, Cal Pet was amazing… Mark and his entire staff really care. Not only did they go ahead and send a kind gentleman named Craig to pick up Speedy, but they also put his ashes into a beautiful urn and returned him to me. They were wonderful over the phone and it was a nice man named Jim who took my initial call. — thank you Cal Pet

I can’t even rate this place! It was hard enough having to say goodbye to my brother’s cat of 21+ years that we consider a family member; Cal Pet didn’t even make sure they were speaking to the owner of the animal to make sure that everything was done and handled correctly. We had been contacted by them and told that it would take a couple days and they would be sending us paperwork to be filled out etc. Instead when we go to the actual place to find out what’s going on he had already been cremated without doing what we wanted. I know for a fact that if this were a mortuary for a human every single person involved in anything that had to do with that person would be fired on the spot! Seems to me this place is only in it for the money, how do we even know that the ashes we picked up are the cat we loved and considered family for over 21 years!

Linda and the gang at Cal Pet are extremely compassion and sensitive to the needs of their clients. They are also very gentle and patient when a loved one is brought into their facility for cremation. We all know how hard it is to lose our babies and then to have to physically let them go is unbearable. The one consolation I get is knowing that I’m leaving my babies in loving hands.

Nope, not here. My beloved pet (18lb dog) was returned to me in a can. A CAN. I assumed the option for the urn meant that the crematory would upgrade from a wooden box to something grander. That was my mistake. Never did I imagine she’d be returned to us in something the size of a soup can, AND only filled halfway. I cried all over again.

Losing my beloved Zookie was so devastating for me. After 16 years I had to say goodbye to my friend. I called Cal Pet, spoke to Linda and she was so kind and sympathetic, made it easier for me during my grief. She explained the process of cremation and took care of arranging everything that was needed to be done. I picked up Zookie’s ashes today and I received it in a beautiful box and urn. I thank you for the excellent service that Cal Pet has provided and would definitely recommend your services to others.

These people are the best! So very caring and thoughtful when it comes to the handling of our sweet dogs… all five over the years! They perfectly package the pet’s ashes in little boxes until the time arrives that you are ready to purchase an urn, and return the box to the Vet’s office. Thank you Cal Pet! We appreciate all you do!

Thank you Cal Pet for respectfully taking care of the remains of my pet. I left feeling that my pets body was treated respectfully through the whole process.

My vet took care of the individual cremation service by using Cal Pet. Their price is not cheap– $ 289 for a 10 lb cat with extra $ 20 for clay paw print. In deep sadness and grief I agreed to have my little Angle’s body taken care this way instead of calling around for other services. The ashes came back in a sealed tint box, nicely wrapped in a beautiful white paper box with flowers, a poem, and individual cremation certificate in less than 1 week. My disappointment is in the poor quality of clay print work done. It was done very messy and appeared to be forceful. I should have looked closer to other Unilocaler’s review. Sadly there is no second chance for redoing it. I hope Cal Pet will seriously consider increasing the quality of their paw print service

After 11 years, I had to bid farewell to my golden retriever, Tobey. Saying goodbye was super difficult. Cal Pet made this time of sorrow a positive experience with their initial phone call to let me know they have received my dog along with their kind condolences. I must have had about 1,000 questions in regards to the process of cremation and they answered them perfectly. About one week later, they delivered Tobey’s remains to the animal hospital for me to pick up. I wasn’t sure what to expect and was pleased to see the beautiful box that Tobey was in along with paw print. Everything was very thought out and nicely packaged.
It must be tough working in an industry where you work with people whose hearts are broken every single day. I really appreciate the compassion that they have for our departed fur babies. Thank you!

After 12 incredible years that I will never forget, I had to say goodbye to my baby girl Muñeca aka Chumpis. I had her over at Chatoak Pet Medical Center that work along with Cal Pet Crematory. As heartbroken and devastated as I was, I have to say that the experience with Cal Pet was excellent. From the moment of the first call, to the end when I picked up my babies beautiful engraved urn, everyone I interacted with was absolutely pleasant.
The engraver didn’t see the change I made for the font style. Cal Pet called me and made sure I got exactly what I wanted.
I am absolutely 100% satisfied and will definitely use them again but hopefully not too soon.

Thank you to all the Cal Pet Staff. Each representative I spoke to was so kind. I was able to arrange to be home when my little one came back home, so to speak. Thank you again for all your assistance and compasion during this difficult time.

The loss of my pet chinchilla «Sprocket» was not easy to say the least. The staff at Cal Pet were kind and compassionate and took great care. I was a little skeptical by the location of the business but it shows that appearances aren’t always correct.

Cal Pet, what can I say? Broken-​hearted as I am to have been separated from little brother Chuco after 12 wonderful years of great memories I will always cherish, there is no one I would have trusted more with my Chuco than with Cal Pet. Thank you very much for the respectful procedures taken place and please believe that many people just like me Truly appreciate the very considerate sentimental service you provide and the way you handle such delicate heartbreaking events. This is extremely hard to write this review. My sweet baby boy Charlie left me way too soon. He was only 2 and I witnessed him get hit by a car. The worst day of my life. Laurel pet hospital recommended cal pet crematory. Thank you God. I was so heartbroken and scared that I would get some random dog back. But when I held my babies ashes I knew it was him, I felt him.
Cal pet made this a positive experience, they were so sweet when they called me to tell me they picked Charlie up. They also delivered him earlier than expected so I was so happy.
The paw print came out perfect. Thank you so much for being so sweet. Now I have my baby back. The packaging and everything was just beautiful, highly recommend this place.
