History

Established in 2011.

A Sun Prairie Landmark, Ski’s Saloon opened their doors in the Fall of 2011. Although the location was previously a bar, it had gotten little attention, love and a good cleaning in years!

Prior to opening, we renovated the space by raising the ceiling, adding windows, exposing the original brick walls, new 55″ TV’s, adding a game room, new/​clean bathrooms, and a fresh approach to your Neighborhood Bar!

Now, one of Sun Prairie’s hottest bars, Ski’s Saloon prides itself on Friendly Staff, Welcoming Environment, and all-​around good place to drink a beer and meet people in Sun Prairie!

Just a couple of Polaks, we, Tony Hudzinski and April Marlewski-​Hudzinski, always dreamed of opening a bar. Not only did we grow up loving those good ‘ol Wisconsin roadside bars, but we even met in a bar!

Our philosophy is all about connections. We value being part of a supportive community and strive to faciliate fun, entertainment and relationship building.

We have an appreciation for a good bar that offers a nice selection of drinks, good music and quality people… all of which you can find at Ski’s Saloon!

Our games range from video poker, Ski Ball, Darts, Ring Toss, Shake of the Day, Sunday Afternoon Meat Raffles, Mystery Shots, and even a sports pool here and there.

We take pride in a clean, friendly, welcoming bar complete with shot girls, dancing on the bar, and your favorite sporting events shown on our huge 55″ TVs!

I attended a fun event on a Monday called Drink and Doodle. The staff set up coloring pages and supply coloring pens/​pencils. For the price of a drink or eat purchase, you can use these supplies to be artistic. The owner Beth was very friendly and admired my work. From the past times I’ve been here, the owners and staff take pride in making Ski’s a fun and friendly atmosphere.
It was a smaller crowd the night I went. But it was a really nice thing to do on a quiet Monday. I will be checking it out again soon. I had two whiskey sours to sip on between color changes.

This place is great! I have been here twice an had a blast each time. The service is friendly and quick and the drinks are priced right. Stop in for a meat raffle! So much fun. Food-​wise, I highly recommend the ski balls, curds, and most importantly the PIG WINGS! Oh my goodness. So tender and flavorful. We only tried the rub version, but I’m sure the others are just as delicious. Ski’s is a stop you won’t regret!

Fun atmosphere, always a drink special or promotion. Younger crowd, but a good place to watch the game.
May not be a good choice for dinner as they only sell appetizers, but good for a drink afterwards.

How could you not like Ski’s? Stumble in on any given day or night and you are sure to meet some of the most original folks from Sun Prairie. The karaōke on Fridays draws a diverse crowd. I can’t go to Ski’s without ordering a basket of their fried shrimp and sauce. It’s so satisfying when you are drinking. The food (think pig wings with buffalo sauce, cheese curds, fried dough, and kettle chips) is a few notches above traditional bar food yet humble and satisfying. Bartenders ROCK. Stop in to see Beth. She will always have a great story and good roll of the dice game in store for you. I’m definitely a fan and a local. One thing I can say about Ski’s is that is one of those nicer neighborhood bars that has cheap prices but a clean and well maintained building. That’s nice!!! What is also nice is that the riff raffs usually stay out of this bar too. That’s triple quadruple nice too!!!

My husband and I drive by Ski’s almost daily on our way to the athletic club and we love their sign. I can’t wait to see what they have next! I told my husband that we had to go there sometime. Sometime, turned out to be a regular Wednesday evening on our way home from the gym. They have Emil’s pizza and popcorn to eat, a small selection of tap beers, a few local and a few «big box». You can tell that they taylor to their demographic. the pizza was pretty good, the popcorn was movie theatre style too salty, buttery and delicious!
What really made Ski’s stand out was the atmosphere! I have never been anywhere like it. I have had great service other places but this went above and beyond… I felt like I had a great friend behind the bar! I had never met her before but she was personable and chatty. In fact, I was able to strike up conversations with everyone sitting next to me. It was incredible… To walk into a place and immediately be surrounded by friends! The DJ played tons of guilty pleasures while the badger game was on. No one cared if you sang and danced or cheered on Bucky. It was almost like being home… In fact, it may become my new favorite hang out.
Stop in… I guarantee you will be back!
