Today was my first visit to the salon but it won’t be my last. I was skeptical to try hard wax after horrible experiences in the past but Nara did a great job of removing the hair with minimal pain. She also gave me tips re exfoliating etc. $ 55 is reasonable for the quick and painless service.

I was looking for a eyebrow savior and I found that in Nara. My eyebrows were completely botched and overplucked from another place. It was a horror story. Long story short, I was in the middle of a facial elsewhere and the lady who told me previously that she didn’t do eyebrows, plucked mine without asking. I woke up with thin, uneven brows. It took me forever to grow them out and I was so scared to go to anyone to get them fixed. I’m really thankful for Nara. She explained step by step every move she made. She told me where I needed to grow out hair. I was very comfortable. You really can’t put a price (she charged me $ 20) on a lovely personality, perfect execution and all around great service. Super happy and I will be back to see my girl!

This is by far the best salon for a wax! Each time they are professional, on time, and do a great job. I usually go to Nara, she is quick, efficient, and less painful than any other waxer I’ve ever had. She does the best job of removing everything. I’ve also noticed since going here I have less irritation afterwards. Definitely worth it!

I received a gift certificate for services here from a friend and feel so bad that she was duped into purchasing it for me from their deceptive website. Let me start by saying that while they advertise massages (for $ 80), this place in no way should be offering them. First, it was impossible to schedule. They have an outside masseuse that visits only a few times a week and there are very few appointments available. It took me forever to schedule a massage, and even then it was at a time convenient for the masseuse, not the client. Then when I arrived I was put in a room adjacent to the reception desk. Throughout the entire massage I heard the goings-​on of the reception desk and it felt as if I was lying in the lobby. Halfway through the massage, the noise got louder and seemed to come from multiple walls of the massage room. I found out why when I left… it happened to be lunch time and EVERY employee sat at tables SURROUNDING the massage room to eat, while chatting and laughing loudly. The music that played in the massage room, which I can only describe as smooth calypso techno, could not drown out the cackling coming from the lunch hour. This was just totally unacceptable. A huge part of a massage is to tune out and relax, not be forced to listen to gossip and shrieking for an entire hour! Then when I left the receptionist tried to charge me $ 100 for the massage even though they advertise $ 80. It took many minutes of my refusing to pay the increased price for her to honor their advertised rate. In addition, since I had money left on the gift certificate, I also got a bikini wax. I had made an appointment for 2pm but was not called into the room until 2:28pm. I don’t know how this could happen since the appointments don’t last longer than 15 minutes. I found this entire place unprofessional and subpar. I would not recommend this place to anyone. I think the owner should either discontinue massages or move the massage room to a quieter place. Also, the staff should be cognizant of when a massage is taking place and lower their voices. There was just absolutely no respect for the clients in this place. I would give it zero stars if it were an option.

I went in to get a eye lash tint for the first time ever. I called in early to make a reservation but they never had me written down. They were very accommodating and took me in right away. Very friendly staff however while the tinting was finishing up, my left eye started to burn. I was ok with it thinking that it would go away. However, 2 days later I had awful pain in my left eye extended to my eyebrow. My eyes are not sensitive to makeup (I wear tons when I dance including fake eyelashes). Ends up I got an infection and had to take antibiotics to get rid of it. I wish I could give them another chance because I loved the results, I’m just hesitant of the reaction.

Just moved to NJ from Brooklyn and tried a few places for Brazilian before coming here. Alex is great, shes extremly thorough and so nice. I have to say it is a little pricey, even coming from NYC but for me its worth the peace of mind.

So glad I found this place! The staff is very friendly and the location is cute and super convenient. I always go to Laura for my spray tan and she does a fantastic job every time! If you’re looking for a natural sun kissed look without having to fry yourself definitely check her out.

Been coming here for over four years now. They always manage to fit me in for an appointment right when I need it, and are always courteous and professional. The atmosphere is great, and parking isn’t too hard to find between the street and nearby lots. Nara is amazing for eyebrows and is really the only person I trust, although I’ve had appointments with others here and have also had great results. It’s something about the wax– it grabs everything and the results seem to last longer. Highly recommend.

Went to Westfield location for a eye brow wax. Half of my eyebrow was waxed off, my skin was burned and I was not offered any cooling cream. Horrible experience. The staff was immature and not attentive. Would not go back.

Great Brazilian waxing experience here. Nara did my waxing and she was great — I’ll definitely request her again in the future. (The only downside is that parking is very difficult in Summit. If you can’t get a street spot you need to park in one of the public lots a couple blocks away.)

As far as waxing goes, best experience ever. I wish there were 100 more locations, including one near me!

Nothing but positive words here. I’ve gone to so many places to get waxed and each and every time I have such an unpleasant experience ! I found this place on groupon a while back and decided to try it out because it seemed like a good deal. After getting my Brazilian done with Alex I was hooked ! I knew I’d be a regular here. She makes me feel super comfortable and relaxed and is so very thorough. She’s quick too so she makes it as painless as humanly possible. I refuse to go anywhere else ! Best experience every time !

I had a good Brazilian wax experience with Shawn. She is pleasant, quick and effective. Pricing is very fair. The spa is not a particularly luxurious place — but that’s not my top priority when it comes to waxing. I am not uncomfortable afterward as I have been with Bliss and other places, and I’ll certainly be going back.
Parking is easy in the closest of the lots on Deforest Ave, just a short walk away, with the first hour of parking free.

Clean cute place, Nara is absolutely wonderful! She’s fast, professional, and knows what she’s doing. Love the hard wax … Long-​lasting results.

I’ve been waxing for 10 years now and I’ve never experienced wax like this before. The consistency of the wax is amazing! I’ve had people use hard wax on my before and it was miserable because it dried too fast/​hard making the experience very painful. This wax is strip free and it’s so great! I stopped by here for an appointment while on a business trip and I’ve been dying to find a place like this in Los Angeles, CA! Highly recommend it. I did go in 2010 so I have no idea how the salon has changed

Finally, an excellent waxing place in Jersey! The rates are pricier than what I’m used to ($ 55 for a Brazilian) but I think it’s worth it especially in this area where high quality spas (aside from the over-​the-​top Hotel spas) are tough to come by. The sugary-​sweet smell of Brazilian wax, hazelnut colored walls, and smooth instrumental music creates an inviting and relaxing environment. My girl, Shauna, was super nice and the spa itself is very warm, clean and cozy. Minus 1 star for the high prices but I’ll definitely be back.

My review is for brazilian waxing. This is my first brazilian waxing experience and I’m glad I went with Girl from Ipanema. Yes it hurt, but I survived. The pain subsided quickly. Maybe because Nara knows what she’s doing.
The environment is very clean, the people are nice and cheerful. I also bought a Groupon which they honored even though I’m not a first time customer. Would recommend this place to first timers.

As other reviewers have said, bikini waxes are never really pleasant experiences, so you know you have found a great place when you simply don’t mind going (’cause you will never really look forward to going).
Shawn (a girl) was super sweet and efficient and did a fine job. She and I chatted and laughed while she did her thing — and believe it or not I had fun! I was not a regular waxer (this was only my second time ever, the first time was at an uppity and expensive local salon) but thanks to the cool atmosphere and reasonable prices ($ 40 bikini), I will definitely be going back to GFI with regularity.
** Update, 15 months later: GFI is still my go-​to spot for waxing. I absolutely love the girls there. I also need to give a shout-​out to Hovan’s Medi-​Cream, which they sell in the lobby… That stuff is worth it s weight in gold!
