STAY AWAY FROM THIS AGENCY.
This agency is a scam. Beth does not allow you to talk to the owner of the company for problems, instead states to go to american express to dispute the charge!
They lie that they have a one year replacement guarantee, then they email and say we do not have candidates that fit your requirement (the same exact requirement they knew about before they took the fee for hiring the nanny), but we are still keeping your money even though we charged you almost $ 4000 for a nanny that only stayed with you for one month because she wanted to move back to her parents home.
Their interview process is a joke. they hardly get to know the nannies that they send you. i talked to the nanny and they do not know half the job requirement, such as working on Sundays. They push these nannies to interview and once they collect the payment, they make no effort to find another nanny.
i read reviews on Unilocal about them. They even charged someone for a nanny who never started!!!
they are a scam. they are a nightmare. stay away from this agency.

A nightmare. We were in a difficult situation due to illness and needed to move quickly. Beth Stover was the «placement counselor». The website lists all the due diligence she is supposed to do. She checked NONE of the references she was supposed to – and explicitly told us to do it ourselves when we pursued it with her. The «nanny» she sent us turned out to have no childcare references we could confirm (and none, as noted, that Beth confirmed in advance as she was obligated to). We fired the nanny on the spot after we found bottles of vodka sequestered in her room – empty and full ones. ABC offers a second placement if the first one fails. This is no guarantee, it’s additional punishment. $ 5,000 down the drain but relieved no harm was done.

Terrible, terrible experience. Beth is the meanest most unprofessional person I have ever come into contact with. As all other reviewers stated– super nice and friendly during initial contact, then… The placement counselor. Questions needs to the point of making you feel like you are asking for the impossible, Questions your parenting style as if you are raising a monster. If they do anything they do a good job of making you feel like dirt.
Stay away! Terrible, mean and unprofessional. I thought it was just me, but after reading other reviews, this must be standard practice for this group. Shame on them…

Yesterday I engaged ABC Nannies with finding a loving nanny for our family. I gladly paid the application fee and was working directly with Beth Stover. On the initial conversation she said she understood exactly what I was looking for and would send me candidates immediately. This did indeed occur, but 24 hours later only 1 of the four candidates matched what I had described to her for experience level, education level, among other things.
When I turned down an interview with one of the candidates proposed she attempted very hard to get me to change my mind — this person had NO experience as a full time nanny and was only a nighttime babysitter. I was perplexed to say the least given I had agreed to pay whatever was required to get the right nanny for our family.
That was the nice part… today I asked Beth to provide the dates of employment for the candidates she sent to me stating my husband and I wish to see how long each nanny had been at each family and to assess if there were any gaps of employment. I quote «our verification department does not check dates of employment» — what??? I further asked if this made sense to her and she claimed that most people don’t recall when a nanny started or left! I was dumfounded! They want you to pay $ 4 – 5 thousand dollars and she is claiming they don’t confirm dates of employment which I know cannot be true. Beth was also incredibly rude and started talking over me to discuss the one candidate I liked and kept interrupting me when I continued to ask questions about dates. I finally politely said thank you Beth for you help, speak to you soon and have a nice day. My husband and I are honestly appalled!!!
I reached out to another agency and engaged them in hopes of finding our Mary Poppins. Happily I asked the placement recruiter if they confirm dates of employment with each nanny and she said I’m confused why would you ask that… I said no reason — I look forward to working with you. They later sent me three candidates and their screening email to me includes the dates of employment among many other salient details that ABC Nannies did not include on their emails.
I really would advise against using this agency and in particular Beth as she was not pleasant at all! But I’m happy to have only been out an application fee and have this experience behind me!

I thought this was going to be the answer to finding a job after losing my dream job about three months before, but I was wrong.
They encouraged me to spend the last cent I had left (before dipping into my savings) on a Basic Life Support course online. I figured that was a safe investment as it would only increase my chances of finding some job in the childcare industry. As it turns out, having that information on my resume has not improved my prospects of finding a job.
Keep in mind that most employers who require CPR certification, in my experience, will cover the cost of certification. As far as I know, ABC does not.
Then, they had me drive out nearly 40 miles away to an unfamiliar area to «interview.» My appointment was at 11am, but I was still waiting after noon.
When I finally was called to commence my interview, things took a nosedive. My father had given me his credit card to use for the drug testing fee. Even though the last names matched, and I explained that my father was assisting me financially as I was unemployed, I was forbidden to use his card.
So, naturally, on top of being apprehensive about the interview, I was now stressed about the money. I had to dip into my savings account to finance this as I had already spent the last bit of money in my checking account.
That’s when I made the biggest mistake of the day: I dropped my debit card.
It doesn’t seem like more than a minor infraction– a display of nervousness perhaps– but it must have been a crime because the woman who was doing the initial screening promptly kicked me out. I couldn’t believe what she just told me, so I didn’t move. Surely she did not kick me out for dropping my card on the table.
Then, she threatened to call the police if I didn’t get out immediately.
There was absolutely no support for me when I contacted the company about it. I went from being an excellent candidate to being unqualified for any position simply because I can be a butterfingers when I get nervous.
I would not recommend this service to anybody.

We started working with ABC about seven months ago after my sister referred us to them. She’s had a wonderful nanny who has been with her for four years and become part of our entire family. Her son ADORES Angela!
They assigned Beth Stover to work with us because she had been the one to work with my sister and her husband– it was a nice connection to have in a rather stressful process. Beth was responsive, patient and ever helpful. We interviewed a lot of women and, after more than a month, found the right person. When issues arose with that nanny a month or so later, she did not hesitate in starting her work to help us find a suitable replacement. ABC will place another nanny, at no charge, in the first year of service. I have to say, even though she was not being paid again for this second round of effort, she was no less diligent. Truly devoted to helping find the right person for us. I saw other reviews about impolite staff. That was not my experience at all. They were all consistently friendly and very helpful.
Through the second placement process, we did find our current nanny, Katie. She’s AMAZING. We had nanny cams in place before Katie started and, when I watched them in the first few weeks, have to confess I was really impressed. She’s consistent, thoughtful and most of all loving with our two young girls. She has lesson plans for them– the two year old already can count to 20 and knows her ABCs! I haven’t looked at the cameras in a while, but am really tempted. Not because I don’t trust her, but because I want to know how she does it! The house is clean, the kids love her and have so much fun. When Katie arrives in the morning, they used to cry. Now it’s a cheerful «Bye, Mommy!». We never would have found her without ABC. Katie said it was a thorough but pleasant interview process. They really cared about placing her with a family that was a good fit for her.

I was in tears after speaking to the staff at ABC nanny source in Summit. I am 3 weeks post partum, with our second daughter, and after having several bad experiences with unreliable people on sitter city decided to go with a «nanny service.» They charge at least $ 1800 to use their service, so understandably I had a number of questions for the staff. The first person I spoke to was like a freight train, spoke very quickly and was trying to get me off the phone, saying that she couldnt answer any more questions. I was disappointed and asked about testimonials for the company, and she said «you know how to do research, why dont you just look it up!»
When I asked to speak to a manager, she started becoming very rude and said «take your business elsewhere…» when all I wanted was to speak to someone more reasonable.
I then called back and the receptionist transferred me to another person. This counselor explained that because I «used profanity» she could no longer talk to me. Although I had some choice words for her, I never used profanity. I was shocked and didnt know how to respond.
I never used profanity, but I was made to feel like sh%*!
A negative review for this company (by a former employee) said that the managers often posed as multiple people which explains why this counselor falsely accused me of using profanity to get me to shut up.
I couldnt believe how rude, patronizing and lacking in customer service this representative was, when I had done nothing wrong but ask a few questions.
And to think I would trust them with $ 1800 or, more importantly the care of my children is just insane.
IF I COULD GIVE ZERO STARS I WOULD. STEER CLEAR OF THIS AGENCY IT IS A HOAX AND A SHODDY BUSINESS.
