gave it another try recently while home shopping with client. client suggested we go there but result the same as the first time it’s nice but it’s not what an Italian from NY City calls Pizza. service nice but it is what it is. Nice but nothing I would go on my own. I’ll stick to the few who came down from NJNY who have joints in the area.

Love dining at a Mellow Mushroom with my husband, and two young children. Delicious food, and fabulous service!

Ate here a few times and honestly have had much better pizza. Our server was very nice but considering the times we’ve gone have been slow it took forever to get our food. Really was not impressed at all.

I love pizza and I love Mellow Mushroom. I try not to do chain restaurants too often, but I make exceptions for this place. They have fantastic weekday lunch specials and their Charleston Restaurant Week deal was great — 2 apps, 1 pizza and dessert for $ 30. They also cater to substitutions, which is always a win in my book. I’ve now been to 5 different locations throughout SC and they’ve all been fantastic. Keep it up Mellow Mushroom!

Good variety of hipster pizzas. Beer cheese is a must. Thai Chile wings or spiked sausage hoagie are my fave’s. Lots of local and craft brews.

Tonight was the most awful restaurant experience I have had in a while. My wife and I stopped to get dinner, at about 6:30, before some last minute shopping. The restaurant was not busy, but steady. We walked right in and we’re seated. Within 5 minutes we order pretzels for an appetizer and we both ordered calzones. After 45 minutes the waitress realized we had not received our pretzels. She apologized and I’m guessing sent the manager over to blame it on the kitchen, and promised we would have them in 4 minutes. 10 minutes goes by and the pretzels come to the table, and just by looking at them I can tell they are under cooked. I cut one open and its nothing but raw dough. And if I can tell they are under cooked just by looking at them how is it that a manager/waitress can’t look at them and tell. That’s when we had enough. I told the manager we were leaving and she didn’t seem to care. She asked if she would like our pizza boxed before we left(again we ordered calzones), but the thought of raw pizza was just as appealing as raw pretzels. Lost a customer permanently today.

These days it is hard to find really enthusiastic waiters but, my gosh, Ricky was that and then some. This ball of energy seemed so freaking happy to be at work, to take our order, to bring us our pizza and our bill. It actually made our little spontaneous lunch date so much more entertaining(mainly for me because I was cracking jokes and doing sound effects to go along with Ricky’s jokes — sorry husband, I blame the medicine I had taken earlier for a cough). So the service was great and my pineapple pizza was good(slices are $ 2 from 11 – 2(M-F) but it you get a topping, like I did, add another 89 cents). Nice sit down lunch for under $ 15.

I wanted to rate this place higher, but I can’t do that. The service here feels incredibly slow and on each of my visits it took between 20 – 30 minutes to receive orders. The staff try to be nice, but most recently our table felt neglected while the waiter spent time talking to one particular table for excessive lengths of time. These may seem like small complaints but they do add up and take away from the experience. The food was okay, albeit pricey. I simply can’t justify the price for the quality or the overall experience at this location and j would suggest visiting the one downtown instead.

I don’t give 5 stars to many places but this is one of my top 5! I love that they have vegan cheese so I can enjoy pizza along with my family. Of course it is pricey but I’m used to pricey food when it comes to vegan options. Such a fun atmosphere too! The wait staff is hit and miss but that’s the only down side.

I love Mellow Mushroom. This isn’t my favorite location, but it’s the closest to my house. I noticed today they added 2 new items to their menu. A veggie burger and a regular burger. I was tempted to try the veggie burger, but I already had in my mind to eat a calzone. Despite every time I come here they mess up my order, I still love this restaurant. And they usually take a portion off of my bill.

Try a beer cheese base on a mighty meaty or a spinach artichoke dip base on a mellowterranean… Be sure to sit at the bar(if you can) and have one of their delectable craft beers. The staff is great, the food is wonderful, and the beer is a good enough reason to go by itself.

It’s 4:50pm on a Saturday. You’d think service would be pretty good at this time considering there were maybe 10 other tables and plenty of staff. But after our server got us drinks and disappeared for 20 minutes we walked out. Saw no one else getting waited on. We’ve been several times before and while the food is usually decent, the service usually is not. Hope management gets it together. Do they even have a manager?

Great pizzas and more. The artichoke dip is amazing and the meatball sandwich was a good choice too. Great atmosphere with TVs and a sports bar feel. Open kitchen and the young energetic staff makes the experience fun. I know its a chain and they are basically the same at the 5 or so locations ive tried but thats not a bad thing or criticism. Love the shroom

Great service at the bar! Was able to catch the Tigers play the Yankees on one of their many tvs. Food was delicious! Started with the capri and pretzels. My dad and I split the medium shiitake pizza(took half the pizza home because it was filling). It was amazing! My mom and grandma split the meatball sandwich and loved it. My uncle enjoyed the veggie hoagie. I only wished they had a location in Detroit but we will be back for sure!

Food: 5 stars! Holy Shiitake Pie is heaven. Service: 2 stars. This location in particular seems to have quite a few kinks to work out.

Despite being a semi-chain restaurant, the staff makes this places feel like a small town local joint and successful. Very popular place and the crowds do come… and wait for a seat! Server was knowledgeable and was willing to make adjustments to our selections without hesitation. OH, and the portions… just count all the people leaving with boxes of leftovers! :) I’ll be back!

I love the atmosphere in here, from the art on the wall with majestic animal creatures to the metal tree sculpture with changing lights. It’s brilliant! This place looks perfect for watching a sporting event with a bar inside and tvs over the kitchen. They even have an outside deck equip with seating speakers, fans and heaters. The food is excellent I had the cheesy bread for appetizer and the Maui Wowie pizza– it was packed full of flavor the crust was firm but fluffy. Delicious! Eating here made me feel like I wasn’t in South Carolina anymore like I was in some mystical forest with the smells of heaven lol!

I thought the food was excellent, pizza is different but good and I was pretty impressed with the beer menu. Service however definitely lacked. Servers were slow, we had dirty plates brought out twice on separate occasions and we waited over 10 minutes for the new plates so little things like that but not a bad experience.

I have been to Mellow Mushroom in several cities, and it is one of my favorite restaurants. I have had pizza to go from this Mellow Mushroom, but this was my first experience dining in. What a treat! I came with three friends, two who had never been before! We were instantly impressed with the décor. It’s a mix of old and new-very funky. I especially like that it’s bright and open, yet cozy. The pizza was absolutely delicious. We had the white pizza and the red potato pizza. The red potato pizza was like a loaded baked potato on pizza dough. I would never have imagined this combo, but it was amazing! We also enjoyed the Greek salad with the Esperanza dressing. This is my favorite salad hands down and my friends really liked it too! The highlight of the evening was our server! He entertained us with jokes, and his quick wit. He was prompt with our drink and food orders, and he seemed to know when we were ready for another drink or were finishing up. His service was just right – he didn’t rush us, but he also didn’t leave is waiting. This Mellow definitely lived up to my expectations of Mellow Mushroom and I will return!

How can you not love Mellow Mushroom? They are the Cadillac of pizza chain restaurants. The Summerville location is large and spacious. The service is typical of Mellow Mushroom-friendly and casual, the pizza is amazing, and the prices are reasonable. I am writing this review 2 days after their grand opening, so they are amazingly busy. If you are not here by 11:30am, be prepared to wait a loooooonnnng time for a table. As well they have a few timing kinks to hammer out, but I cannot imagine this location not excelling as Summerville’s newest, most favorite place for pizza!
