C. T. Lowndes & Company was founded in Charleston, South Carolina, by Charles Tidyman Lowndes in 1850 and is the oldest fire insurance agency in the Southeast.

Since the agency first offered fire insurance for South Carolina National Bank mortgages in the mid 19th Century, we have grown to a full-​service agency with seven locations throughout the Lowcountry.

I was a customer for a number of years. After doing my own online shopping I found out that my home ins which they placed was over 50% more than I should have been paying. They used unrealistic house and content values which they should have know better. While I found the agents to be very pleasant their ability to find the best insurance for their customer was very lacking.

I very much appreciate all that Denise Perkins did for me and the great service she provided when I was searching for insurance quotes. I was new to the construction industry and Denise took time to explain all the coverage’s that the business would need without making me feel stupid. She provided excellent service and was very knowledgeable in the insurance industry. I highly recommend her and C T Lowndes.

They are incompetent. Denise could not answer my questions about a matter of security breach. Denise did not have the respect to call me back as to the matter, but decided to call my husband, who has nothing to do with the problem they created, very clumsy and unprofessional. As Deniese said to me today … they did not have my number??? So she couldn’t look at her notes from 5 days ago when I first brought this problem to her attention? & made sure she had my number to call me??? Lie. As soon as my contract is up, I will not be giving them my money to protect my small local business, as they are clueless as to how to conduct my business problem. A problem that they created. Thanks for putting my business at risk. In my opinion, very bad company, very very slack protocol Deniese.
