We ordered the fish dinner. $ 10 included gray canned peas, boxed mashed potatoes, canned gravy and a square piece of Gorton’s-like frozen fish. Cremora instead of milk for coffee. The bread pudding was ok-though it was like bread with pudding on top-which is not what I would expect. Waitress was very nice and service was good. We could have gone to the Cracker Barrel up the street for a lot less money-but didn’t want chain restaurant food. This seemed like a $ 3 meal that was $ 10.

We stopped for lunch there yesterday, and even well past the lunch rush the place was crowded. The food was amazing(i highly recommend the fried zucchini); simple, honestly food done perfect. I’ll definitely be back on my next trip through Sullivan.

I had dinner there tonight and it was exactly as I expected… Good home cooking– comfort food. It is a big, open room. Brightly lit with oak dining tables and lots of happy families and old couples there to have a hearty meal. Onion ring appetizer was $ 4 and was a heaping helping, more than my partner and I could eat. Hand coated and not too greasy. My fried chicken dinner was cooked to perfection with crispy skin and ample portions of salad and sides. Partner’s fried cod was tasty with homemade(not powder-mix) gravy on the potatoes. Bottomless black coffee that was topped off 5 – 6 times and we split a bread pudding for dessert. They had lots of employees on hand and all were professional and working hard. We hit them right at the peak of supper rush on Friday night and got seated with coffee and our order in with no wait. We eat responsibly all week to keep the weight and blood pressure in check so this isn’t a place we will frequent but if you want to enjoy food like grandma used to make and eat your fill… this place gets it right. We had business in Sullivan tonight and checked our dining options on Unilocal via cell phone and were not disappointed. The Unilocal map on the phone took us to the wrong side of town as Du Kum Inn is actually on the north side of I-44. I see the Unilocal map on my computer shows the correct location. Check out the large photo on the south wall showing the Sullivan football team spelling out Du Kum Inn with their bodies on the football field.

Quaint little dinner with friendly staff. Food was decent and the coffee was hot and flowing. Had the western omelette with hash browns and biscuits and gravy. The omelette was solid– an enormous portion of diced ham and fresh vegetables with plenty of melted cheese. Hit the spot. The potatoes were cooked well, crispy on the outside, soft on the inside. The biscuits and gravy were a complete miss. Biscuits were hard and I wouldn’t call that gravy. It was a white mealy mess without any flavor. No sausage flavor or salt; reminded me more of watered down library paste. Skip the B&G and you’ll not even miss it… Service was great, the gal who served us was spot on, proactive, and friendly. I love a server who just brings the ketchup as hot sauce the table before you have to ask. If your in the area, stop in, it’s worth a go!

It was our 3rd day on the road from South Eastern MA to Southern California and we were nearly halfway there. We decided to Lodge at this lovely little town on I 40 West called«Sullivan» Missouri. Once we lodged at the Baymont hotel, a nice lady told us about the Du Kum Inn, just across the way at a stone’s throw. She told us its where all the local peeps come to dine. I love this place. After we set the cats free from the pet taxi, across the way we walked to experience the Du Kum Inn. I jumped all over the Fried Chicken with Okra. It was good. What I will never forget about is the pie. I had the best Lemon Merange pie experience of my entire life when I indulged into this lovely piece of heavenly lemony merangie crazy goodness. Wow! It was just killer. Next morning we went back for bacon and eggs and it was excellent. If you ever drive thru this area on I 40 West — You must stop on here and eat something!!! I actually miss this place already. I love spots like this. Du Kum Inn, I am a fan !!!

Homestyle cooking. It’s not great but it’s not bad. I go when in Sullivan, but won’t go out of my way to be there. I recommend if you are looking for meat & potatoes type restaurant.

Nice place for a homestyle breakfast. It seemed like we were the only people in the place that weren’t called by their first names. Which I think is something you never really see unless you are in a town like this, and to me thats kinda unfortunate. But the food itself was simple breakfast food that was pretty tasty. I had two hotcakes and they were your standard oversized pancakes you would get at any diner type place. And I also had their biscuits and gravy and that was alright. I really like sausage gravy more than the gravy they had here, but besides that they were decent. I was hoping for better biscuits, being homemade and all, but they weren’t all that great. Overall a good stop and a good place for breakfast when staying or driving through.
