The best chicken tacos of my life! The black beans are full of flavor, and the pupusa de queso — just YUM! And pay the 50 cents for the extra hot sauce, it’s so good. I have yet to try anything else because the tacos just hit the spot.

Small place with good food. Better to cal ahead and avoid the wait. May be hard to find a parking spot at times. Lots of chickens! Dude must have brought out six skewers from the back with about eight cooked chickens on each. Y’all eating a lot of chicken!

The rotisserie chicken tacos were absolutely phenomenal. Seriously some of the best tacos I’ve ever had, and I’ve had tacos all across the globe. The rice and beans were also very tasty. I highly recommend this place. Parking is very limited so make sure you get there early or call your order in.

I’ve had their food about half a dozen times. My first experience was memorable. A neighbor had a gathering at her house and served Sylvestre’s shrimp and chicken fajitas with black beans and rice and salad. I was very impressed; however, subsequent visits were a bit disappointing. The whole chicken was not bad, but I’ve had much better. It’ was not seasoned to perfection IMO, but it was tender and relatively moist. The black beans and rice are a bit bland as well. I find I need a bit of salt and cilantro to spice them up. The sauces they provide are not impressive; they seem to have a heavy mayo base, and if you want extra, there is an additional charge of 75 cents for a small tub. Heck, for that money i can go home and slather my own mayo from the jar with a little chile powder mixed in. Now, this location on Silver Hill Road is not at all aesthetically pleasing. As a matter of fact, it’s downright«hole in the wall,» and forget parking, There are only a few spaces available in the tiny strip mall, and if you’re the sort to park in any spaces available reserved for other businesses, you risk towing. I’ve seen people park in towing zones and wait in their cars while a partner places the order. This is strictly carry out, folks. It’s tiny. There are maybe six tables, but they are usually occupied by customers waiting for orders, and if it’s really crowded, folk tend to get a bit ornery and your visit may become unpleasant. You wouldn’t really want to eat your food there anyway unless you relish folk standing over you breathing down your back while yelling into their cell phones.

Discovered this place from a yummy I post and decided to Unilocal it and try. I must say this was by far the best grab and go mixed fajitas I’ve had. My niece and I ordered the mixed fajitas which came with big shrimp, beef and chicken all for under 12 bucks! What??? Yassssss. Oh I forgot to mention the two sides! I will definitely return to this place probably this weekend!

I’ve only eaten here once with a friend who kept raving about their fajita platter. We got there about 30 minutes to closing. Originally, I ordered quarter chicken, plantain and black beans. The guy at the register looked at the chicken, looked back at me and said, «eh, maybe not the best time for rotisserie». Let me tell you, I was slightly disappointed because that’s what I had my mouth set to eat. BUT, I appreciated his honesty because I would have been more disappointed if I’d gotten the chicken and it was dry. So I ordered the same as my friend: chicken and shrimp fajita with black beans and rice. I’ve had this same dish from other fast food Peruvian spots and the taste pretty much matched my other experiences. However, the spicy sauce that they have is the best of any like it I’ve tried. It took my meal to the next level, and for that I will be back. Please note that this place is located in a seedy strip mall off of St. Barnabas Rd, and the eatery itself is fairly small. We ordered our food and went back and sat in the car until we thought it was ready. Then went home and ate.

Me and some friends were looking for a good, inexpensive place to eat after the air show at Andrews and Silvestre Chicken was the first one to come up that met our requirements. Upon pulling up to the address, we were initially unsure whether we wanted to eat here or keep searching(it really is a hole in the wall kinda place). Man, am I glad we ate here. I had a spicy jalapeño steak dish and it was amazing. I like my food with a good amount of heat and am routinely disappointed at restaurants because they never serve anything with a real kick. Not at Silvestre. I must have said about five times how much I was enjoying my meal and my friends were saying the same about theirs. I’ll definitely be making the trip out from DC to Silvestre again.

This place is definitely a little hole in the wall establishment. It’s easy to drive by since the little strip it’s in has nothing special in it. Parking can be a biatch since the dentist office next to it has signs threatening to tow. But, I’ve been lucky all 4 times. It’s usually packed in here, so I definitely recommend calling ahead. I usually would call as I leave my job, which is about 10 minutes away, and still have about another 10 minute wait once I get there. All I’ve ever had from here is the enchiladas. I got the steak the first 3 times and shrimp today. I think I’ll stick with the steak. The shrimp tastes extremely cheesy. I mean I like cheese, but it was too much. I always get the salad instead of beans. The portions are huge, I don’t see it possible to finish everything at once. The rice is kind of bland, I can do without it. Every time I come, I always get the honey bun rum cake. It’s a good size and so moist and really good. I definitely recommend this place, just based off of those amazing enchiladas!

The good: –Cheap meal for a large group –Food can be good … Some times The bad: –not much space which can cause it to get hot during summer days –chicken can at times be dry, especially the breast portion of the white meat –yucca is not the best –not a fan of the side sides, much better at other Peruvian chicken joints. Also portion size has gone down =(

I’d definitely come back here but not sure if I would list it among my favorites. The rotisserie chicken is very good and if you order rice there is more than ample in the serving. The tacos are on point and I loved the rum honey cake… it tastes just like a rum cake I make without any of the hassle!

This is a little hole in the wall place. With that being said the food here is GREAT!!! I would suggest taking your food to go and calling ahead, if possible. We got the shrimp enchiladas and mixitos fajitas. Both were ridiculously tasty and the portion size was great for the price. We had rice, beans and salad as sides. The salad was more like taco toppings but it was a nice fresh companion to the rich seafood enchiladas. The customer service wasn’t bad, they take your order and make your food. Not much interaction. Parking is weird since there is vitally none. The area is a bit sketchy. It hot inside the building. Great place for cheap tasty eats!

Food is good… when you get the right entrée you order. There has been 3 different times I have placed an order and then received something that was missing or a completely different entrée. Today, I ordered 2 enchiladas but received two fajita meals. When asked if the mistake could be fixed, I was told the restaurant was closed. The cashier took the food, trashed it and then gave a refund. I don’t think I will go back. Rude customer service isn’t quite what I would like to pay for.

It’s good considering that the area has nothing even comparable to offer. I recently moved into an apartment up the street to save for a home and sadly driving to Clarendon for some good peruvian chicken is too painful with traffic. I’m not sure which nationality this place aims for since there is a various menu selections. I hate the location itself. I have no patience for the other ignorant customers. I had a lady that had also been waiting cut me off with her«un-uh me first» attitude when I came back in from my car to check on the status of my order. Regardless, if my order was ready… my order was ready and I hate that I had to re-cut her off to ask the staff a question. I’m sure we ordered two totally different things. Most of the people in that small little space were like that with the same stupid mentality, so I continued to wait in my car. I guess the staff is so used to attitude that they ignore customers that have already been helped. I had genuine questions about other dishes, but brushed it off. I was beyond annoyed and ready for my food. The wait was decent considering they were having a rush hour rush. It was about 530 – 6. The chicken was surprisingly good. Not like my favorite place, but decent. Their«yellow» sauce is a watery combo of something not like any good rotisserie place. I was quite sad to have been teased like that. I ordered a steak fajita as backup up in case I didn’t like the chicken. If you’re going to offer fajitas, you have to offer sour cream, guacamole and fajita veggies, which they do not. So, I never touched it. My boyfriend picked through the meat and said it was OK. This place has so much potential and is missing the opportunity to really stand out. One young guy said that they might start doing empanadas based on my kind interest and suggestion.

No idea why anyone who comes here says the chicken is so good??? Is it cooked well? Yes. Is it seasoned well? No. It’s sort of bland but for the price its edible. The sauces are also pretty bland. Barely any flavor besides mayo. The rice and beans are decent but seriously this place needs to upgrade.

This food is bangin! The Peruvian chicken is great. The prices are cheap. I loved the enchiladas and tacos, but the steak fajitas were over the top good. The Latin sides are outstanding(yuca, platanos, rice and beans). I come here 3 times a month and it never disappoints

So here I am, bored at work as usual. I walk past our break room and smell something great in the air. I instantly got hungry. I asked a co-worker where he went to acquire such good smelling food and he told me it came from Silvestre’s. I asked him about the restaurants whereabouts and he looked at me and said, «What…You never heard of Silvestre’s!!!» He offered me some but I politely declined because I’ve seen him pee without washing his hands once, but I digress. I go back to my office and Google this place’s address. After seeing the place on Google maps, I knew exactly where it was as I’ve driven past millions of times, but never paid attention to it since it looked quite seedy. I’m always up for traveling to shady areas if there’s delectable food involved because I’m fat. I hopped in my car, and oriented myself to Silvestre’s. Upon pulling up i notice there’s a sign saying not to park in front of the dentist, but I do anyways because I’m a risk taker. I go in and order the ½ Chicken with a side order of fries and coleslaw. This is indeed a hole in the wall spot and the space is minimal, but who cares? These places usually have the best food. I was right. The food is cooked fresh and it was a 10 – 12 minute wait that was well worth it. My only gripe is the little amount of coleslaw I received. As I was riding back to work, the awesome smell of chicken was getting to me. It wanted to trap into a state to where I was vulnerable, and would easily fall under it’s enchanting spell. I started to hallucinate. «Hey handsome, why don’t you pull over on the side of the road and start eating me.» I told the food to keep calm, we’re almost at our destination, and turned the radio volume up. I got back to my office and began to dig in. I started with the fries and coleslaw first, I like to save the best for last. They were nothing special, just your typical sides. I used my fork to break off a piece of that moist chicken and took a bite. Woah. It was like 2 angels came down and took me on a field trip to heaven. I said hello to Whitney Houston and my uncle Charles and returned back to earth. The chicken was seasoned perfectly. They also included some sauces with my food. I have no clue what they were, but it went well with the chicken. I will definitely be coming here more often. Giving this place 4⁄5 stars.

Swung through this spot to grab some lunch. Got a ¼ chicken, fried plantain & black beans. Food was decent. Chicken was moist & flavorful. Black beans were seasoned good. The plantain came in a bunch. I was surprised at how much they threw in the container. Had to have been 18 – 20 small pieces. They were good as well.
