When I was younger, I remember the library being in that tall bulky building across the street from Sunset’s shopping center. It was on the second or third floor and I swear to you I can still smell the scent of the old book Goosebumps books. But that was years ago and Suisun City was able to construct this fantastic building next to Suisun Elementary and the Croc Center. It’s small but the librarians there are extremely friendly and helpful. All around, this is a great addition to Suisun City.

This library is in a great location in Suisun City. It has an open layout with no real separation for a quiet study zone. To my knowledge, there is only 1 study room at this location. Reservation is by first come, first serve basis(which can be a bit of an inconvenience). If you can’t get into the reserved study room, there are an ample amount of tables throughout the library; however, you are more susceptible to distractions. The library is located right next to an elementary school and is very kid friendly. When I visited this location, there were a lot of children there on the internet or looking for books. Some of the older kids were using it as a meet up spot, which I thought was kind of interesting. Since there are a lot of children there, be prepared to watch little boys play fighting, being loud, and see them run around all over the place. The noise was a big problem for me. I was one of the unfortunate souls that wasn’t able to get into the only study room at this location, so I had to study at one of the open tables in the center. There were people talking loudly and people that did not turn the cellphones on silent upon entering the establishment. And as stated earlier, I witnessed little boys play fighting, screaming, and running around all over the place, so it was a bit distracting. Luckily, they do have free wifi internet so I was able to listen to jazz music(very loudly if I might add) to drown out the noise. The wifi does tend to slow down though, since a lot of people are using it. On the bright side, the staff here are very friendly and helpful. I was greeted and helped right away when I approached the front desk for a couple of questions. The location is also fairly neat and well organized. Just be aware that there are children who are eating inside of the building and may not clean up after themselves. Overall, this is generally a nice library. From what I briefly saw, there was a good amount of books to select from. It is child friendly; however, it isn’t too study friendly due to the noise. With that being said, I’m giving this place 3 out of 5 stars instead of 4 out of 5. I’ll most likely visit this location again when I want to rent out some books(when I have more free time).

Finally got the chance to really explore the inside of this place today. This whole library is not much bigger than the children’s section at the Fairfield library. That being said, I found myself pulling out several books for my daughter as I walked around inside. I found three of my own childhood favorites that had faded from memory in just minutes after arriving. I love when that happens. Having visited the Fairfield, Vacaville and now Suisun library, I’d say that despite its size, this library is just as great as any other in the area. Lots of windows, comfy seating for story time and an adequate amount of work tables for the size of the space. We will definitely be back, glad I stumbled upon this gem a few weeks ago!

This library is small but has a lot to offer! =) I come here about 2 – 3 times a week depending on how much studying I need to do. I love coming here because the staff is very welcoming and helpful. I feel very comfortable here. It’s nicely spread out– They have private desks along the left side of the library and comfy chairs that form a circle. The center of the library provides natural lighting where there are more comfy chairs, round and rectangle tables for four and two person computers. And the right side of the library is the children’s area, where they have more computers and tables at a child’s height. The BEST part about this library is the small private study room. I come here with a study buddy so it’s nice to not have to whisper since we are always going through/discussing notes or reading out loud a new chapter. The room is a first come first serve basis and they will allow you to use it for more than an hour if no one else needs the room. The library also provides dry erase markers so you can use it on the white board. They have a separate computer room, with approximately 20 computers. And if you don’t want to sit in there, they have a chrome laptop you can borrow for the day(use inside the library) and it costs 10cents to print or copy a page of paper. They offer great activities like Scrabble, Knitting, Laughing Yoga, Children’s book reading and more on certain days out of the month. I haven’t done any of these yet but I look forward to. They have a Fast«do it yourself» express check out. Restrooms are always well stocked and clean. Hours are very convenient because they open until 9pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays. So 5 stars for a very friendly and helpful staff, 5 stars for being clean and 5 stars because you’re my favorite study spot! =)
