History

Established in 1996.

Dr. John earned his DMD degree from the University of the East College of Dentistry in Manila, Philippines. He pursued postgraduate training in oral and maxillofacial surgery at the Royal College of Surgeons in London, as well as general training at Mount Vernon Hospital and Northwick Park Hospital in Middlesex, England.

In 1993, Dr. John relocated to the United States and earned his license to practice dentistry in the state of Texas. After a two year associateship, he started Advanced Dentistry, and he’s been caring for families in the Sugar Land area ever since.

Dr. John continues to hone his skills by completing training courses across the country, including cosmetic dentistry training at Louisiana State University and the Seattle Institute of Cosmetic Dentistry. He also received advanced training in implant prosthodontics and surgery from the world-​renowned Misch International Implant Institute. Later he completed an externship in implant surgery and advanced bone grafting surge

Manager

Anna John is the financial manager of Advanced Dentistry. With her exceptional administrative skills and pleasant personality she is able to provide a unique and memorable experience to our patients.

In addition to all money matter handling, Anna is the glue that holds the team and the doctor together. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her daughter Amy and son Nathan. Dr. John and Anna are part of leadership at International Bible Church in Stafford, TX.

Dr. John filled 9 teeth for me. I am always nervous about getting in the dental chair because I have trouble getting numb. Dr. John said he could do my fillings without the injections. So, I agreed and was very surprised that I felt very little and he was able to finish all of my work in one visit! Everyone in the office is very friendly and willing to explain why you need what you need. The office is small and cozy and everyone seems to enjoy working there. I would recommend this office for gentle, caring dentistry.

Dr. John and Frances the dental hygienist are wonderful dental health professionals. I can tell Dr. John is very concerned about the health and well being of his patients and he doesn’t over prescribe care. I had been without any dental care for a long time and I feel like the team at Advanced Dentistry was very careful in fixing my many problems and educating me more about oral health. Frances always brightens my day whenever she cleans my teeth too!

Not sure you can base things off of the 2 negative complaints on here because after all, you can go to 6 different dentists and get 6 different oral exam results. I hated going to the dentist, but now Dr. John and his staff have changed that for me. There are NO rude people here. It might be that the other reviewer just didnt like what they heard in regards to their exam.
I didnt like what I heard either. Who gets excited when a dentist tells you that you need crowns? I have had 4 so far spread out over a year and I never feel that they have anything in mind other than the best interest of you as a patient Dr. John is gentle and makes sure you dont feel any pain. I hope he never retires and I hope Crystal, Jaime, and Franky never leave either. They are friendly, knowledgeable, and most importantly treat you right.
I feel comfortable going there and I dont think the prices are ludicrous as one reviewer stated. Your not getting a haircut you are getting dental work… it will cost money.
To me the part I hate the most is when I have to get the molds of my teeth for the crowns because you drool everywhere. Thats it. Keep your practice just the way it is. I enjoy it.

Great dental office. Doctor is very skilled. Staff is extremely knowledgeable. They treat everyone like they are part of the family. The doctor uses a camera to exam the mouth. You get to actually see the cavity instead of a doctor just telling you that you have a cavity. They also offer blankets, music and nitrous to help make your experience an enjoyable one. Can no longer say I’m afraid of going to the dentist!!!

I am not a fan of dentist at all BUT Dr. John and his hygienist Frances made me feel more at ease. Frances explained everything she was doing and would ask me throughout if I was ok. Dr. John explained everything to me and by no means were either of them pushy or forceful in what needed to be done.
I didn’t feel like I was being taken advantage of. So, if you’re looking for someone who really cares about your teeth and makes you feel at ease I suggest you go here and check it out for your self.

They claimed I needed 20+ fillings. I’ve never had a cavity in my life and still don’t. He tried to show me under his microscope of little dark spots. All of which looked like nothing more than normal debris/​buildups to me. I am not a dentist, so that was my opinion. My dental health is later confirmed with other dentist after this place and I still have no cavities and require no fillings. Secondly, they tried to charge me $ 90+ even though my insurance covered the cleaning. I had to go home and print out my coverage so they can refund my money, which they did the refund.
Based on other review, looks like I am not the only person who experienced this.

Unless you want to get scammed I don’t recommend going here. I came here once and they told me I needed a ridiculous amount of fillings. Not knowing any better I got them all for, of course, a ludicrous amount of money. Upon being looked at by the next dentist I went to (who, by the way, told me that I didn’t have a single cavity) he said they were just «glorified sealants.» Then they told me I needed to come back every 3 months to check on my «gingivitis» which they didn’t even mention when I came back, they just told me I had more cavities. You” notice there’s another reviewer who had the same experience but got filtered out (likely because they only got on to review what a terrible experience they had here.)
Dr. John is also rude and they play terrible music.
Don’t go here.
