Really nice hotel. Clean, large rooms with high ceilings. Indoor pool and jacuzzi was a nice amenity along with fitness room. Complimentary breakfast was good. If you are looking for the Amish experience with your stay, this place is it. If you plan on staying on a Sunday be aware that the Amish take Sunday’s serious, pretty much all the surrounding businesses are closed.

Our family loves staying here! This clean and attractive property is located far enough away from Berlin to avoid all of that hustle and bustle, yet you are within a short drive of shopping and all of the attractions that Berlin has to offer.
The rooms are all extremely clean and uniquely decorated providing repeat guests with uniquely Amish experiences. The hotel offers guest all of the modern amenities, including a very clean pool and hot tub, along with exercise facilities.
After a hard day of shopping, you will be pleased to return to their snack time offering fresh baked Amish cookies, and popcorn. Each served nightly for several hours. In addition, they offer a twenty-​four hour drink station as well.
Overall, you will be hard pressed to find a cleaner facility with such a relaxing and family friendly environment. They have a sister property located in Berlin, but it lacks the pool and hot tub, and if you have little ones, that is not a little difference.

My husband and I stayed at the Carlisle Inn during a recent trip to Ohio. We usually visit «Amish Country» while we are in the area seeing family, and this was our first time staying at the hotel.
We very much enjoyed our stay. The rooms are large and comfortable – and clean, of course! We had the honeymoon suite (celebrating an anniversary), which featured an extra large jet tub. The textiles are lovely (traditional Amish motifs) and the furniture is tasteful. The room was a bit dark, I thought, but desk lighting solved that problem. It looked like most (all?) of the rooms had a balcony, and the views are stunning. The balconies are very large, too, with oversized wicker rockers and plenty of space to move around.
One down side to staying at the Carlisle is that there was no room service. After some asking around, we found out that there was a drive-​through about 7 miles away where we could get a bottle of champagne. There is, however, a very nice continental breakfast and yummy snacks throughout the evening. The front desk staff were fantastic and the inviting shared areas and fireplaces made the entire place warm and cozy. We were especially happy to receive a $ 20 voucher for the restaurant next door – Dutch Valley – which meant that we spent a whopping $ 5 on our dinner.
If you want a quiet, comfortable, and home-​like stay away from home with some nice amenities, try this hotel.

I’ve stayed at the Carlisle Inn at Sugarcreek several times and found it be a really nice place. The only downside I can say is that it is a bit pricy for the area which it serves. It’s kind of like having a big city hotel out in the country which may be perfect for you, but not for me.
