My birthday spa day was almost amazing. Like, I am still in lala land. I started off with the chocolate scrub with Vichy shower. This was my first scrub at a spa & it was delightful. Cindy brushed my body first. Then, she applied the chocolate scrub to the back, then the front of me. I had never had my breasts massaged before but apparently it’s a part of the scrub. It felt amazing. Not uncomfortable at all. Next, she massaged all over. And, finished with a hot water Vichy shower.
My scrub was followed by a 50-​minute aromatherapy massage. I think I fell asleep half way through it. Even though I would have liked more pressure, I am soooooooooooo relaxed. The 3 mimosas probably helped with that, too! Lol
To end my day, I decided on a spa pedicure. And, I would have to agree with the other reviews… the pedicure was nothing to write home about. The lady looked like she barely wanted to be there. I could have given myself a better pedi at home.
Final tip: Go for the massages, body wraps & scrubs. Get your manicures & pedicures elsewhere.

I booked a 3 and half hour services at Shea and I was super excited.
I started with a 90 min massage and was absolutely fantastic. Karen, my massage therapist was super professional and an amazing person, super friendly and great therapist.
Then, my 60 min facial started, which unfortunately was ruined by the estetichian, Header. First, I think she does too much lecturing about sunscreen and how much water we should drink… I’m fine if She gives advices but try to do that in the first 5 min. Anyway, finally I started relaxing… but her phone was continuisly vibrate and She kept checking and then touching my face again… Of course, I told her but I recognize half of my facial time is done… Totally ruined experience. She is a friendly lady but doesn’t focused on her client which is the most important in this industry. Phone should be removed from rooms during services!
I finished my day with Victoria, who did my wonderful mani pedi. Very professional and did great job.
The Spa is very relaxing, beautiful and clean!

Fantastic service and wonderful atmosphere. Came here for a «mother-​daughter date» with massages, facials, manicures, and pedicures. They were very nice, offering us water and snacks. The massage was relaxing and pleasant, and the facials left us feeling refreshed. The nails were also a good experience, but my polish job was a bit sloppy (granted, my nails are a challenge to paint!). Overall, our day here was relaxing, refreshing, and wonderful. Would definitely recommend!

I sincerely enjoyed my experience with this place. I booked the room for two for me and mom for a late mother’s day. It was wonderful. The massages and facials were wonderful and my nails look gorgeous. The staff was kind and attentive. Highly recommend this spa.

This place is absolutely amazing. Booked a «Room for Two» package for my mother & I and I couldn’t have been more satisfied with the day. We had such a perfectly relaxing time here, the service is beyond wonderful. I can’t say enough great things about the service.
We had a massage, spent time in the sauna, mimosas, facials, mani & pedi… it was amazing!
Heather is so great!!! She helped me from the beginning to the end, I can’t praise her enough. She is so accommodating & helpful, I just adore her.

Let me just start of by saying this place is amazing. I bought two Spa Rituals for $ 150 each plus a $ 50 tip for all the people who worked on us.
50 Minute Swedish Massage:
The massage was 50 minutes, and they give you a robe to wear around and free red and white wine while you are being pampered. They recommend water after the massage to flush out the toxins. They will customize your massage any way you like, and I chose to have a massage half way between a sports massage and a deep tissue massage. They focused on the areas I had the most tension, and they did the same for my wife.
Shea Express Facial:
Next they did our 30 minute facial, and it was also perfect. The Estheticians were very professional, and they massage your neck, face, and scalp while they put different masks on your face to clean the pores, and moisturize the skin. They also make recommendations for different kinds of facial moisturizers with SPF to use depending on your skin type. I have dry skin, so she made a special formula to use around my eyes. I ended up buying this eye moisturizer for my wife and I for $ 26, and another skin moisturizer for $ 16 which was created by the Shea Essence Day Spa owner.
Spa Manicure and Pedicure:
The manicure and pedicure is very good here because they really take their time to do it right. My wife was very pleased with her nails, and the color they used. They massage your hands and feet, and they are careful to make sure the cuticles are clean, and the nails are polished perfectly. The massage chairs are great for your back, and I enjoy the kneading massage setting because it feels like a deep tissue massage on your back.
Overall I recommend this spa if you are celebrating an anniversary, birthday, or just want to do something nice for your girlfriend, wife, or significant other. We scheduled our spa package at 9:00am in the morning which was perfect because after 3 hours of pampering it was lunch time, and they have a decent restaurant right next door. They can also cater from this restaurant for you if you ask for it, and they will charge an additional $ 15 per person for this. There is no markup for catering lunch if you buy a spa package.

Visited this spa last week with my mother and daughter. The reason for 3 stars is because the manicure/​pedicure were not good. First they charged my $ 20 to take the shellac I had on off, then the shellac they put on was terrible it has not even been a week and already my nails are a mess. We paid way too much for this service. Do not go there to get your nails done.
Now I would give the spa services 5 stars! I had a massage, wrap and facial. I loved them all and my skin is still soft!
I would come back for spa services but go elsewhere for nail services.

The spa part I’d fabulous. I had a seaweed wrap and loved it, a 50 minute massage, express (25 minutes) facial, pedicure and manicure. My daughter had the same services, and my granddaughter skipped the seaweed wrap but got the rest. The spa parts were wonderful! However, my pedicure and manicure left tons to be desired. indeed, before an afternoon, I discovered that the gel coating which I paid extra for was on my toes as well as my toenails. While trying to get it off my toes, it came off the nails as well. The cost is high and the job by the pedicure and manicure lady was well under par. We will gladly go back for the spa services but will not have our nails done here again.

My two girlfriends and I visited Shea essence last sat and could not have been more pleased. My friends each had the 90 minute Shea massage and were both very pleased. I had the chocolate bliss scrub with Vichy shower and 30 minute massage add on. All three of us were transported. Technicians were all very good and the staff and facility was top notch. I am a spa snob and was very pleasantly surprised as the prices are very reasonable. I will definitely be back !!

Tried this place for the first time after reading all the good reviews, and for the most part, I was very happy.
I did the massage, facial, and mani/​pedi package to get the full experience.
I got my drinks, robes and slippers and started with my massage. The massage was for 50 minutes and it was great! She did not waste one minute and covered every area I wanted. I got the deep tissue massage and she worked on my back and shoulders working out all the knots for the majority of the time. Then came the more relaxing part of rubbing my head, arms, legs and feet which felt great as well.
Then I went on to my facial. Let me preface this by saying this was my personal opinion and my not be a problem for others. I was escorted to my facial, laid down and right away I have a lamp with a bright light in my face. I’ve had a facial before and it was in a dim lit room for relaxation. So the lady gets started, (who by the way is very sweet) asks me if I have any problem areas and starts to clean my face. First off, the little sponges that were used were tough and scratchy on my skin making it a little unpleasant. Then as I’m thinking I’m going to relax in mostly silence, I get a long lecture about sunscreen and drinking water. I know she was trying to be helpful and I do appreciate that, but I came to the spa for quiet time and relaxation. My face ended up feeling great but with the light shining right in my eyes and having to keep up a conversation, it was not my favorite.
As for the mani and pedi they were good, and my polish looked nice.
I would go back but probably just for the massage.

My husband surprised me with a day at the spa for my birthday at Shea Essence. From the moment we arrived until we left, we were treated very well and all the staff was very accommodating. We spent some time in the sauna first which was great and then moved on to facials. The therapist had great technique and did not over push products but was happy to explain more about the items that interested me. The facial was very refreshing! Next up, we had a couple’s massage that we both enjoyed immensely. Really helped alleviate my stress! Lastly, we had mani/pedi’s which were fabulous! We enjoyed champagne while being pampered and my nails came out looking great — just in time for the holidays! The spa is newly renovated and the staff is top notch! We will definitely be back!

This was a great place to get all of my beauty needs done! I love the shellac and how the ladies take their time to really make sure the shape of my nails suits my fingers. The pedicures are out of this world! The prices may be a bit higher than the other salons in the area, but once you’ve had your nails done here, you won’t want to go anywhere else! SO WORTH THE PRICES!!! Nails last long and you leave feeling like you’ve known them forever. Everyone is so friendly!

So I am visiting family and friends in Sugar Land during this Christmas break and we decided to have a spa day for the ladies. I read the reviews on Unilocal and google and it looked like a good place to go. I got a pedicure and a brazillian wax and have to say it was one of the worst experiences ever. First, the pedicure was extremey rushed. From the second I dropped my foot in the water to after the foam slippers were on my feet, a total of 10 – 13 minutes, not a minute more. No scrubbing, rubbing, massaging of any kind. Certainly not what I expected from such a nice looking place. Then, the brazillian was HORRIBLE. First, my esthetician was very nice but she is definitely a BEGINNER. A brazillian wax should NEVER be performed by someone who is a novice. She did not follow proper State board health procedures because she constantly blew (with her mouth/​breath) over the wax that was to be applied to my bikini area. This could cause infection or even spread DISEASE and should NEVER be done in any kind of waxing. Also, I have no idea why she used hard AND soft wax when everybody knows hard wax is much less painful. Also, she NEVER once pulled my skin taught NOR did she apply pressure after ripping my already sensitive area, causing the most unpleasant and painful experience for me ever. I asked her repeatedly to hold my skin taught and to apply pressure afterwards. However my requests were ignored. On top of this, SHE PULLED THE STRIPS SLOWLY. I cannot stress how WRONG her technique was in EVERY WAY possible. This is not my first rodeo for brazillians or pedicures and I have years of experiences to compare to this. About 6 hours after this horrific trauma, I am STILL red and inflamed «down there», which has never happened to me before. And to add further insult to injury, the ($ 55+) price was seriously ridiculous! I’ve had $ 35 brazillians that were done by real professionals with minimal amount of pain and no redness at all. To be fair, I will say the music was calming and probably the only thing that kept me sane throughout this experience. Despite everything, I still left a good tip but ONLY because I have worked in the industry before. I hope they remember this customer that they lost because I will NEVER EVER go back to this place.

This is my most favorite spa thus far. Its beautiful and elegant design provides such a wonderful and calm atmosphere for relaxation. The services were above my expectations. I love my experience at this spa. Definitely going back!!!

It was my girlfriend birthday, so we decided to get massages. When I arrived the atmosphere was very relaxing and we did not have to wait. The spa is very classy and clean. Heather and Naomi gave us excellent massages and we can’t wait to go back again. Also great price.

I recently moved to the Sugar Land area and had to look for a new day spa. After reading the reviews, I decided to try this place.
I arrived @ 2 pm and was offered a beverage right away. I’m sure alcoholic drinks are available but I asked for juice. Linda led me to the facial room, and gave me some instructions. I quickly got ready and waited for her to come back. She started off by asking me some questions and examined my skin. I knew my skin was dehydrated but didn’t know I had sun spots and uneven skin tone. She used mostly hydration and exfoliating products on me. I felt super relaxed and my skin looked good afterwards.
After the facial, I put on the robe and went to the massage room. It was a couples massage room but I had it all to myself. Dorsha was my therapist and she worked over my knots pretty good. I always had pretty twisted knots in my right shoulder, probably from repetitive use of the mouse. She did her best to work them out. The best part of the massage for me is always my head and my left calf (I know, weird). I didn’t fall asleep during this massage because I asked for deep tissue instead of relaxation.
Finally, I’m on to the mani pedi station. I knew Ly is a pro when she whipped out super glue to salvage the tip of the nail. I’m definitely a seasoned mani pedi veteran, but I’ve only encountered few who know how to use silk and crazy glue to fix a nail. It’s no surprise my nails came out looking great.
I have seriously toned down my expenses in terms of spa spending since I got married, but sometimes, a girl just needs some special treatment. I would definitely come back here to try the wraps and other spa package.

Very nice staff and the environment is very relaxing. Great for women wanting to wind down or even couples wanting to treat themselves. My sister loves this place so I make it a point to get a gift card from here for her around b-​day time.

Im pretty picky about where I get a manicure/​pedicure or get a massage. I decided to try this place because of a groupon. It was for a spa manicure and pedicure. For me, atmosphere makes a big difference, and the atmosphere is great there. They offer you something to drink during your manicure. A glass of wine really helps you relax. Linh is great! I really enjoyed my manicure and pedicure. Another great thing is that if you book your next appointment before you leave you get 10% off. So I’ve been back several time since and have had enjoyable experiences with my manicure and pedicure everything. The price is very reasonable. They have a special Mon-​Thur 38 $ for a manicure and pedicure.
I also decided to try a massage there. Prices are normal for massages. It was pretty good, nothing out of this world, but I definitely enjoyed it. I really enjoy aromatherapy usually offered during a massage, but there was not any. The masseuse used a lot of great techniques and the massage was very relaxing. I will probably return for another massage but I will DEFINITELY continue getting the great manicures and pedicures there.

I really really enjoyed this day spa. When I first got there they offered me something to drink and I decided on a Mimosa. When I finished it the receptionist quickly asked me if I wanted anything else to drink. My massage therapist came out and gave me a tour of the facility and I must say that I was very impressed. The had candles everywhere, it was super clean, it was just… serene!
My massage therapist talked in a really low voice and made sure she knew what my problem areas were before she started. She didnt talk during my massage which I loved. Towards the end of my hour I actually fell asleep. Once my massage was over I went to get a mani and pedi. They had a lot of nice colors to choose from. They took their time with me and made sure everything was perfect.
The prices are reasonable for a spa and the staff is very friendly. I would recommend this day spa to anyone and I will be back.

I had a wonderful time at this day spa. With their summer specials still going on, I took advantage of their couples 1 hr massage for 105 $. This was just what I needed after a long week of exams. Still being a full time student and not really working, I’m very tight on money so I was looking for a cheap massage with full of quality — found it!
We were welcomed by the receptionist and we had to fill out the forms like every spa about our backgrounds and preferred treatments. It also allowed us to circle what spots we wanted to be focused on. We were then take to the back where the «locker» room is. It seemed like an oversized bathroom with elegance. We were given robes and slippers to change into. We were directed to a small area where we would sit/​lay to wait for our massage therapists to get us. While waiting, they offered alcoholic drinks but I just stuck to my bottle of water. We were then greeted with our therapists and directed into the room. THey went over our surveys and preferences and allowed us to get comfortable under the sheets.
We got a wonderful aroma therapy and swedish massage. It was just heaven. After the massage, we went back to the locker room to rinse off. The receptionist checked us out and asked if any improvements could have been made but I had none. It was a wonderful experience and I would recommend this place to a friend.
I do plan on return for their reasonable prices!
