I’ve been going here for 2 years! I used to only go to visible changes because my hairs is definitely a challenge to highlight!!!
Steven is AWESOME!!! All I did the 1^st time was show him a picture of the crazy transformation I wanted (DARK brown to blonde almost platinum highlights)!
Steven worked his magic and poof … It takes Steven a WHILE with my hair because of how dark and thick my hair is, but he takes his time and makes me look my BEST!!!

They get upset with the customer when they complain about a hairstyle. If I would’ve gotten what I asked for I wouldn’t have complained. I asked for a simple blowout with loose curls, instead she kept ignoring me, flat ironed my hair, then used a curling iron.

she takes her time with you never rushed, she explains about the color and what will be the best for you. i would not go anywhere else!

I visit this place every week for haircut by Helen. She is nice and professional. My friends also recommend their girlfriends to see Helen for great high-​lite, doing color and updo. She is amazing!

I have been coming here for many years mostly due to the cheap prices for haircut. I get my haircut done by Steven, he is really good at what he does! However, every time I go the staff is never too welcoming. Especially today. I was not greeted by anyone as I walked in even though all the hairdressers where there. The receptionist was not there. Some hairdresser asked me what I was there for. I told her haircut with Steven. She sat in her chair which is near the entrance and yelled out for Steven couple of times who apparently was in the break room eating lunch. After 5 mins she again yelled out for him as I sat there. After which a girl finally let Steven know I was there. Steven who always is usually good at what he does does not greet me, tells me to sit down after which for another 5 mins he texts on his phone while I’m just waiting for my haircut. When he finally started my haircut he was very rough with my hair (I had many tangled bunches of hair) I told him the cut I wanted. He proceeded and was very rough again while cutting my bangs I almost thought my hair was falling off. After he was done he says okay you are done. Takes the apron off. Does not even show me how my hair looks from the back or if I liked it or not. Very disappointed in the staff and the hairdresser. Never plan to go back.

I’ve had bad haircuts in the past, so in pretty skeptical of trying new places and people.
I hated paying for expensive haircuts and not getting the right result.
Nancy executed a perfect haircut and fixed my terrible layers on the top. And I obsess over blowouts and she did a terrific job! The haircut is pretty cheap too including shampoo its $ 25! Better than $ 68 I paid for my last haircut!
Make sure to bring cash for tips because they can’t accept tips on credit cards!

I have been going to Salon 9 for years, and even though I have moved to Downtown Houston I still frequent this salon every month for haircuts and color. My stylist of choice is Nancy, she has been doing my hair for years and always gets it right. Just this week, I decided to get ombré color for the first time, and I was extremely pleased! Nancy was patient when discussing colors and completed the whole dye job, wash and blowdry in 2 hours.
Pros– Very reasonably priced salon. Stylists have great knowledge of hair. Good quality products.
Cons– If there are some walk-​ins, there is a little bit of waiting time even if you have an appointment.

This is the only place I go to for color and a haircut. Vy is the bomb diggity (yes I just said that because I definitely mean it!) and I’ll probably never go anywhere else. I trusted her when I decided to chop off my hair to donate to locks of love. 17 inches off later, she understood the style I wanted with her awesome recommendation to color my hair. I’ve never got it colored before and was hesitant, but I would do it again in a heartbeat. Mind you this was a year and a bit ago and I’ve only gone to her since. I always get compliments on my hair, even from strangers and every time I point them to her way. Check salon 9 out with Vy for a great haircut at a great price. I guarantee it! :]

They shampoo, cut and style for $ 20. Can’t beat that!

Salon 9 is the best place to get a haircut with unique style. There is a guy who is very professional and very good hair stylist. He understand what you are trying to make your hair like.
They give free shampoo with the haircut. Hair cut is not expensive. I highly recommend everyone to go checkout this place. You will not regret believe me.

I found this place on Unilocal as a salon near by that had good reviews… And wtf you guys!!! I went in for an ombré style dye job and left hours later with half of my hair a burnt orange color. The back looks like she literally slapped bleach on half of the hair. It doesn’t blend AT ALL and the color is awful!!! Had me sit in a corner with dye on my head for an undetermined amount of time while she cut someone’s else’s hair. When I realized she had no intentions of wiping the dye off of my cheeks or forehead I asked for a towel whereupon she hands me a box of tissues and proceeds to allow me to wipe up brown dye from my cheeks and forehead myself. How is that acceptable? This cost me $ 100. It wasn’t even as cheap as all the reviews claim. I could have gotten a far and away better job done at another salon!

I had a really BAD experience here today. I took my 10 year old daughter for a haircut. She has very thick but short hair and I wanted this shortened further into a cute but very short –in– the– back wedge that would be easy to maintain in the summer. I showed the lady what I wanted in the book. she said it would look awful on her, we should opt for a plain bob. When I told her that we did not want the bob as it was too long (AND NOT WHAT WE WANTED), she made a face. Yes, she made a face and said, you want it cut like a man? Here I am quoting her exact words. Then she turned around to tell her male colleague something in a language I did not follow and both of them laughed. I was determined not to be offended or confrontational. so I patiently explained that I wanted a wedge cut with a thinned back and bangs in front. Also explained to my daughter not to be hurt by the woman’s rudeness. she probably wanted to avoid more work as her hair was thick. Anyhow, when she took her for the shampoo, she started washing her hair and then said, we don’t have hot water today. Great. Next, the hair cut itself. She simply would not thin down the back like she was supposed to. I had to ask her thrice and each time she said you want it to look like man? She did not have a name tag or else I would mention her by name here.
I am offended. Deeply. The haircut was $ 16. I did not tip her. We will never set foot in there again. It is cheap. It feels cheap. Yuck.

After years of spending countless amount of $$$ on haircuts and highlights I found Nancy at this gem of a salon. This place is ideal for someone looking to get a quick but nice haircut and highlights. You have to go to Nancy! She was great at figuring out what kind of highlights and hair color would look best on me and stayed within my comfort zone. The best part about my experience here was the price I paid for shampoo + highlights + hair cut! This has become my best bang for the buck salon for a nice trim, basic haircut and highlights. The only reason I did not give this 5 stars is because of the amount of time I have to wait for my turn despite booking an appointment. Try to avoid going on Fridays and Saturdays or else it will end up being a 3 – 4 hour event.

If you are looking for good service and a good price this is the place. I have seen this salon for the past 6– 7 years but never really went in there, its 5 mins from my home. I decided to go get my hair colored this time around instead of doing it myself so i went one day after work to make an appointment. I made one with STEVEN for the weekend. I picked RED RED for my haircolor with Matrix products thats what they use and it turned out wonderful burgundy red wine color, not too over the top and not too dull either. I have dark brown original hair color and my main problem has been never been able to get a red enuff color, but this worked amazingly.
Steven is a wonderful stylist, he is quiet at first but once you start talking he opens up. He does a very good job of color, haircut and style. He has good experience in helping you pick out a great color for your hair. He is very good at cutting hair especially with multiple layers and does not cut it too short or too little and then uses the thinning scissors to take of the excess under hair. He did the shampoo and condition, color, multiple layers haircut, blowdry and style for 58 bucks which was wonderful!!! He spent a great deal amount of time on me almost 2 hours or more which was great. I got lucky to come on a downtime so he was able to spend a good deal amount of time on my hair which everyone knows when going to a stylist is greatttt.
I would pick the first appointment in the morning so they can give you enough time before things get hectic. I dont mind waking up at 9am for a good hair color session that will last me a couple of months.
Pros — great wonderful hair color EVERYTHING INCLUDED for 58 bucks! 5 mins from home.
Cons-​yes i agree with some reviews that said the salon may not look clean, but who is going in for plastic surgery? its just haircolor/​cut /​style so for 58 bucks im a ok with it.
the end product was amazing! so i dont mind dealing with a little hair here and there on the floor.
I have hair till my shoulders.
Supercuts quoted me 65 bucks starting… Aveeda on Settlers Way would not even quote a price until the «stylist» saw me.

I went there first time. Kristy was my hair stylist. They welcomed me without appointment.
I had a good hair cut wid side bang. Though the salon doesnt look very clean and comfrtable, it is value for money. for 18 bucks i got my hari done wid shampooing and straightening as well. Only thing i dint like was the hair stylist dint talk much.

salon is not real clean, small & clustered… but, not dirty enough for me to wig out.
stylist, tina was really sweet and understood english. she did ok… not the best.
i gave her a picture of what i wanted… mid length layers and trim the length no more than 1 inch.
she came real close in getting it right, cut 2 inches off length and i had to touch up some un-​even layering.
my color [they use matrix color product] came out ok, but, pretty much like the loreal/​clairol ive been using at home that i buy from grocer.
however, when i do my color, i dont leave the color around my hairline to stain my face!
$ 45 for hair cut and root color –not including tip.
**note** they dont let u put the «tip» on ur credit card… so, cash for that.
jury is still out on whether i go back.

As a lady, you know how expensive getting your hair colored, highlighted, or even cut can be… Well Salon 9 is a huge pocket saver.
Molee, the owner, does not push spending more and more– but finds ways to cut back on cost.
I get my highlights and hair colored and trimmed all for under 80 bucks (not including the tip).
Steven does my hair everytime and is there everyday but Monday.
They do the job well, and right– and it will not leave me digging for coins at the end of the day.

So I walk in with no appointment and they still managed to do my hair. I gave it 4 stars because I have reallt long hair and I am picky with that in mind. I got shampoo + haircut + style for just $ 20! Def worth it for the price. I would recomment bringing a picture she didn’t understand me much but still it was a decent job. This place is good for the money :-)
