I have dealt with numerous businesses in my life. This is the worst I repeat the worst. Their employees cannot tell the same story 2 x and when you call them on it they hang up. Whatever you save is not worth the aggravation. STAY AWAY

I apologize! I used to work for OptumRx and on behalf of the reps we’re only told to tell you what out supervisors/​managers tell us. I worked at the Phoenix location and we all hated it. Because this company is so unorganized, the systems hardly ever work, and things rarely go the way they’re supposed to. But there’s no one to blame but corporate because they are the ones pulling the strings and they have control over improving the company but they choose not to! My location went from about 200 employees down to 17 & once I left 2 months ago 16! Everyone quit because they weren’t treating us with any respect, they lied to us when we all got hired 7 months ago and told us we were permanent employees and we would have benefits after our 90 day probation. Turns out that was a lie we worked for nearly 6 months with no pto, no health benefits, mandatory overtime, & we still were temporary. They told us we would have certain schedules lied about that we got the total complete opposite, which take in to consideration we have families and children that we have to take care of, but they don’t care! This company is THE WORST company I have worked for in my life please don’t use their services and don’t work there! It’s just a huge headache. Take it from me it just so happens that my insurance uses them as their PBM which is a Pharmacy Benefits Manager! So my birth control that I take monthly I was only able to fill locally twice and I am being forced to get it through them since it’s considered a maintenance medication that needs to be taken on a daily basis. All I have to say is let me not get my medicine on time I’m calling them and raising hell and they better not try to give me the runaround because I have knowledge on how the system works since I worked there! JUST STAY FAR FAR AWAY!

I recently enrolled in Medicare. Previously I used express scripts and their website now I use Optum Rx and that app. It’s very poorly designed and doesn’t work constantly freezing, not allowing me to order a prescription, etc. The app is worthless, so is the company.
Wish I could go back to Express Scripts.

This company is incompetent and everyone that works here is unhelpful and unprepared to help. I thought I would transfer to Optimarx for convenience instead it’s been a nightmare. The medication I take at the pharmacy has a zero co pay. Optima tried to charge me $ 1,100. It took over a week to review and correct. Recently they were supposed to send a three month supply but sent one month. The medication that was supposed to be sent in the cooler wasnt. The medication that didn’t need to be shipped with an ice pack was in the cooler. After speaking with five people this still isn’t resolved. Bad bad company.

Optum Rx has has worst customer service that I’ve ever experienced, that includes my experience with businesses in the 30 other countries that I’ve traveled to in my lifetime. They refuse to make something right even if they were in the wrong, they’ll only try to justify their mistake by blaming it on another party. Do NOT use this company unless you plan on never needing customer service (good luck because they like to send out the wrong medication). They are incompetent, careless, insensitive, and «too big to give good customer service.» They’ve lost my business forever along with the business of anyone I have the chance to reach.

Deny. Delay. Ignore. Lie. Rinse, repeat and wait for them to leave.
I am not positive, but I suspect that is the first sentence of their operations manual.
Envisioned job interview:
Can you say no? You can, great. Can you play dumb! You are dumb? Even better! Ok, this one is just a bonus, but if you have management aspirations it would look really good on your application (couldn’t possibly require a CV or Resume) can you stick it to our customers at every opportunity and keep coming back to work? …then you are our ideal candidate.
Awful, just awful. Possibly borderline criminal.
This has to be the worst business operating from a USER’s perspective. They do not want you. If you need them. I’ve had some bad experiences in my life, but this place is going to make me go add a star to every business I have ever rated. Healthwarehouse here comes star 2.
It is clearly their policy to try and get you to leave them. They DO NOT want to fill any prescriptions. None! They are owned by the insurance company. They do not want users of health services, they merely want your money. I will never believe otherwise.
If you have to deal with this place, 1. I feel sorry for you and 2. I hope you have a Dr that is a strong advocate for you. 3. I really, hope you do not go to an actual Health Provider owned by United Health Care too. Because then you are screwed. Harken Health, here’s looking at you.
It’s hard enough finding a Dr that doesn’t cower to insurance companies to begin with, but when we allow them to also run the facilities and pay the Drs directly. I swear I think my Dr get a commission on procedures and meds they should prescribe but don’t. I envision a report going back to HQ in Indianapolis saying ‘guy probably should have a heart transplant and some blood thinners, but I sent him away with some bandaids’.
I can go on and on.

Optum Rx is a joke. After my doctor faxed them three prescriptions, they called two or three times to get them authorized. Each call was about a single prescription, so there were six to eight separate calls. I responded to each and duly authorized each time. One prescription was mailed and the others were listed as unauthorized and on file. I called and when I was connected, it sounded like a party was going on in the office. Nobody picked up the phone and I heard snippets of conversation about who was wearing what on a date Saturday night. When I whistled loudly into the phone to get someone’s attention, a girl picked up and asked if she could help (with no apology). She again authorized the prescriptions and told me they would be processed the next day. Five days later, my online account says that one has been shipped and the other is «on file waiting for authorization». If these were critical drugs, you would be reading my obituary and not my review. As a retired doctor who had to endure UHC for years, my best advice is to look elsewhere.

I have given this company numerous opportunities to follow through with some type of reliable service. I will wait patiently for days and days to get correspondence about the status of prescription that I mail to them (I know they receive it because I send it with tracking information). Finally, I end up calling and get told they will put in a rush to process it and ship it out. Again, I will wait patiently to receive it and get a shipping confirmation. Still, I get nothing. I call back and go through the same explanation over and over and over again. The company has an EXTREMELY DISCONNECTED system. The turn around time for me to get my prescriptions ends up taking 1 MONTH. One person with the company tells you something, then you call back and get different info. There are too many delays with prescription processing. If I could go across the street to the local pharmacy, I could get it in an hour. 1 MONTH processing time, including multiple phone calls and delays is RIDICULOUS for a prescription. I pay for overnight shipping everytime. For some odd reason, they always wait until Friday night to ship your prescription out, so you won’t get it until Monday night. That is not overnight shipping, and I know UPS delivers on Saturday and Sunday. It doesn’t matter when they receive the prescription on their end, if you look at my account, they ALWAYS (without fail) wait until a late Friday night to ship it out. I would never use this company if it weren’t for my insurance company requiring me to use them as my mail order pharmacy. Again, I have been more than patient with OptumRX. I have unfortunately had to deal with them for almost 2 years, so it’s not like I’m just formulating this review based off of one experience. It has been MULTIPLE stressful experiences and wasted time. Terrible company. I would not use them if I had other options

I wish I had another health insurance company who would let me use another pharmacy! This place SUCKS ! I MEAN SUCKS !!! Tried to call me 2x this month to refill the SAME SCRIPT. Can’t wait till January of next year till I am done with UnitedHealthCareInsurance and OptumRx. Better off spending money on a casket and giving up than dealing with these morons. UPDATE: 5÷2÷16 For the first time in 5 months of ordering medication, I receive a bill. I’m set up on auto-​pay. Now they want more money! Fortunately I keep immaculate records, and called them on their B.S. Case finally resolved, but still the worst pharmacy I have ever had to deal with. For those of you who are forced to use them this year, make sure next year when open enrollment comes that you find out which pharmacy your health insurance company uses. If they use this company… then probably a bad insurance company too. It’s definitely on my list of questions for the next open enrollment.

Their pricing is triple what I paid last year with Express Scripts. So, I tried cancelling an order b/​c I could not afford the nasal spray. I was told by the first rep that she DID cancel it and the money would not be taken out of my account. 2 days later, they withdrew the payment. I call back in, I talk to a 2^nd rep. He tells me that they could not stop the shipment in time; but that he would personally talk to the accounting group and have them refund my payment immediately; knowing that as soon as I receive the shipment; I would return it. None of this happens. A few days later, I am on the phone with a 3^rd rep. She says they have delivered, even though I have not seen shipment. The rep says that a supervisor got involved and will approve accounting to refund my money. I asked to speak to a supervisor, I have to wait more than 10 minutes for them to tell me the supervisor won’t talk to me. So, I ask that the supervisor send me a written document (via email) that this will be taken care of. And she tells me that the supervisor won’t do that. I have now been on the call for 37 minutes. I tell the rep that I can only trust her word at this point that this will be taken care of. She concludes the call by saying «if you would like to take my survey, please remain on the phone» and then she hangs up. Dial tone. (exactly what I expected). It has now been one full week since the last time I spoke to them, still no refund. I am not surprised. I have received the nasal spray and am waiting for them to snail mail a return slip to me so that I can return the medication.
If you have an opportunity to select who you get your prescriptions from, DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT use OptumRX!!! They are incompetent and have poor customer service skills.

OprumRx is incompetent at best, dangerous at worst. Trying to get the website to actually reflect my mother’s prescriptions is an exercise in futility. Nothing gets updated. You have to call them and jump through hoops to determine the ACTUAL info they have on record. The operators always try to put the responsibility back on me that their website is inaccurate, and resist changing incorrect site info unless I repeatedly insist.
But the worst and MOST DANGEROUS thing they do is have a big pop-​up window appear when you first log on that «pushes» the meds they think you should take. It’s basically a pop-​up ad. If I actually followed the «suggestion» of this window, my mother would likely be dead by now. It’s that inaccurate. When I think of all the incorrect meds people are taking as a result of this unethical tactic, I shudder. It’s a wonder basic liability has not driven them out of business by now.

My insurance requires to me to use OptumRX to fill prescriptions. The employees are poorly trained and give inaccurate information to patients.

Incredibly frustrating! Hassle free Rx refills don’t ship. They don’t call you, they don’t email you, or use their own messaging service to inform you.
They mailed me a letter! WTF?
One week later, aftering fielding 2 robot calls during dinner, only to be hung up on, and never have someone come to the line, and 2 calls I had to make on my weekends to operators who I could barely understand, I hope they’ll send my Rx. All that time I’ve been on hold and on their website Optum tells to me how easy their system is. That just riles me.

The worst! I think they go out of their way to be hard to deal with so that you get fed up and pay for prescriptions out of pocket yourself. The communication is poor — its even poor within the company. They provide false and misleading information. I’ve gone weeks without medication waiting for them to get their act together. If your company uses these people and you ever get sick or worse, have a chronic condition… I feel sorry for you.

do not sign up with unitedhealthcare. optumrx is worse than horrible! my anticonvulsants are more than double what i paid for with my old coverage. that is if i can get my persription filled.

This company and its parent United Healthcare should be drummed out of business. I spent 25 minutes on hold today. While on hold, I called them back again and was put on hold yet again only to be told that they were «too busy» to talk to me and would call me back but, incredible as it may seem, they kept me on hold on the first line and never got back to me. In and of itself this treatment was astonishing but they also told me that they would expedite an order free of charge. First, the order was on hold for more than 10 days and no one had informed me of the hold. I found out by accident. Second, they were going to charge me for expediting the order when I had nothing to do with it being delayed. They had delayed the order. Third, since when does expediting an order require that the patient be charged for that? This company does not want our business and I’m going to switch to Costco just as soon as I can.
