Hiru Mathur DDS, MS, Board Certified Periodontist and Dental Implant Specialist. She is the Assistant Clinical Professor at the University of Texas, Houston, Dental Branch for the past seven years. Her affiliation with the University of Texas Dental Branch as an Assistant Clinical Professor keeps her abreast of the latest developments in Periodontics. She continuously incorporates state of the art technology to enhance patient care. For example, her office now uses a soft tissue laser for several soft tissue procedures. Lasers eliminate or minimize the need for needles, prevent swelling, bleeding and pain after the procedure. They are especially beneficial for children who need gum procedures related to their orthodontic treatment and are afraid of needles.
