History

Established in 2011.

Owners, Patrick and Sue Carter Foy knew they wanted to be in the Hocking Hill’s lodging business. Mrs. Foy grew up in Hocking County. Hocking Hills is home to Hide Away Hills, Wildlife, shimmering lakes, waterfalls, caves and starry nights. These were all part of her everyday life. The Foys’ knew what they would desire if they were guests of a beautiful lodge here. Many years of traveling and staying in resorts gave them the insight of how they wanted their guests to feel when staying at the Painted Horse Lodge. It would take a year and a half before deciding to purchase Painted Horse Lodge. It was love at first site. The former owners had taken such good care of their magnificent home that there was very little for the Foys to do. A lower level was completed in April of 2011. The stunning private home has been turned into a supremely elegant vacation lodge. Worthy of the title: ‘Best Luxury Lodge in Hocking Hills’.
