Dr. McNeill is the best Vet there is, she is as good as it gets, she loves the animals and she heals them. She doesn’t rush to meds she is deeply caring and skilled. I moved away from Sudbury two years ago and I miss her authenticity, she will always be the best Vet my animals ever had care for them.

We spent a great deal of time searching for a vet when we moved to the area. With the reviews I’ve read about Dr. McNeill, we chose her first and we couldn’t be happier. She runs an excellent practice with a compassionate staff, and while I truly believe that pet care isn’t something you should skimp your money on, I will say that the costs here are very, very fair.

Best vet clinic ever. I have been going to McNeill Veterinary Clinic for well over 25 years and even though I moved I will never go anywhere else With both my cat over the years and my dog who always has a weird thing going on, Dr. McNeill and her staff have been wonderful. They are caring and patient and understanding of the owner/​pet relationship and never try to make you spend a fortune as I know other vets do. Can’t say enough good things.

Love love love her! I just cant say enough wonderful things about this place. From boarding, to thorough compassionate service, this place has it all!!! I have had some extreemly high maintenance animals and they have gone above n beyond to give them the proper treatment.

Dr Mc Neil is the best Vet ever…
Her staff is fabulous, she is kind, considerate and so thorough. She does not prescribe anything just because it is an easy fix. She gets to the root of the problem, does testing for some things right at her office. She is like an urban country vet. She gets down on the floor with your dog (or other animal) and relates to the dog… I would not take my precious dog anywhere else…

Oh, how I wish I lived closer.
I grew up taking my pets (2 dogs, 2 cats) to Dr. McNeill and she was always fantastic. She provided care for the animals through health and sickness, from puppy to senior dog, and was there when they got too old to live comfortably (15 yrs and 16yrs for the labs).
She is fantastic, an honest, skilled and kind doctor.
Years later and I’m «grown» and living in the city with a dog of my own and as I’ve gone from vet to vet to vet, trying to find a good fit, I’ve often contemplated trekking out to Sudbury to Dr McNeill. I didn’t realize finding a good vet would be so difficult.
I just wanted to take a minute to express my gratitude and confidence in Dr. McNeill!

Dr. McNeill is wonderful! I became fed up with my old vet and through the recommendation of a friend, I began bringing my dog to see her. She does excellent work and really takes the time to get to know you and your pet. There really need to be more vets like Dr. McNeill!!!

We’ve taken our best friends (past and present) to Gail for over 15 years. You won’t find a better vet. Honest, direct, great sense of humor. Very fair rates even for being in Sudbury. Our dogs don’t know how lucky they are!

After what seemed like an incorrect diagnosis of hip dysplasia for Lula, I brought her to Dr. McNeill for a second opinion. Dr. McNeill has been serving Sudbury’s animal population for at least 20 years, and has seen my family through 5 dogs and three cats and has diagnosed some tricky illnesses. Although I now live in Chicago, I was on vacation and brought Lula with me. She likes long car rides. Go figure.
Dr. McNeill is direct and folksy. Her clinic isn’t fancy or catering to the needs of those who want to pretend they’re taking their child to an upscale, suburban medical clinic. Service is simple and helpful — there are no cups of coffee, treats for the dogs (Dr. McNeill doesn’t do treats), or candies to help you pass the time. But the wait usually isn’t long — this is Sudbury, afterall, and schedules are kept.
Lula was definitely sick. After my vet in Chicago gave her 10 days of anti-​infammitories for her supposedly dysplastic hip, recommended chiropractic for the curve in her spine, ignored the 5 lb weight loss from our previous visit, and told us to put more fatty acids in her diet, Lula was still, as they say, sick as a dog. She could barely move. Some days she’d just sit there, look up at me without moving, and wag her tail. Just barely. I had to carry her up and down stairs to take her out. She is only 2.5 years old, so something was very wrong. Even though my mother, who was visiting me in Chicago, suspected Lyme’s disease, the Chicago vet ignored that. «I know Lyme’s», she said, «and your dog doesn’t have it.»
The day after I arrived at my mother’s place, we took Lula to Dr. McNeill. «Well,» Dr. McNeill pronounced, «It could be her knee. But I’ve been fooled by Lyme’s too many times. Let’s give her a blood test.»
Sure enough, my dog had an extreme case — nearly off the charts — of Lyme’s. «If this dog were a person,» said Dr. McNeill, «she wouldn’t be able to get out of bed and she’d be crying and moaning.»
Three weeks of antibiotics is the cure. That’s it. And if my Chicago vet had given Lula a blood test, she would be better by now. Instead I had to get a second opinion, 1000 miles away, from Dr. McNeill, who is, and will remain in my mind, one of the most rock-​solid vets around.
