Very creepy. This «doctor» keeps on calling and leaving messages for me attempting to «follow up» although I have zero intention of ever returning nor returning her calls. I’ve moved on to other practitioners. Avoid.

Dr. Chen’s herbal prescription for my sensitive skin and rosacea has been the only thing that has helped me after two years of struggling through other dermatologists (focused on western medicine). She has made a positive impact on my life, and my well being. I am a true supporter of her work, and her skill as a dermatologist. I would recommend her to anyone.

I have been shopping at Vitamin Land for over 15 years now. And have always found Dr. Chen and her staff to be knowledgeable, and very helpful when picking picking out the proper vitamins and herbs for various problems over the years. She is a great alternative to western medicines. Especially for skin problems.
I would highly recommend this store for anyone who does not wish to overload their body with drugs.

I was a patient of Dr. Chen’s. Two years ago, I had severe hives, and the red rashes covered on my chest, arms, back, neck and scalp which were badly itchy and made me couldn’t do anything well, slept only 5 – 6 hours a night. I was referred by a friend of mine, and went to see Dr. Chen. She treated me using the Chinese herb remedies which are really worked well, which means the hives disappeared in 2 – 3 days completely. After that, the hives came back while I eat hot food, fishes and drank alcohol. And then I came to see Dr. Chen, and she treated me again. I took the herb pills she prescribed to continually detoxified my blood, moved out allergens, and watched food to eat, until now the hives didn’t recur to bother me anymore. I am thankful to Dr. Chen. She is a kind and warm hearted professional. When I told her that I had lost job for a while, she charged me a lot less, gave me a big discount price. Appreciate her good treatment in professionalism.

I needed a healthy natural alternative to anti-​biotics in order to treat an ulcer. I googled and found this place as the nearest store, and in severe pain I went hoping that I could get guided as to what could be useful. After all, you walk into any Sprouts or Whole Foods and there’s always someone there with helpful information and a great attitude. Being the Hippie that I am, I wanted a mom and pop store.
Right off the bat, when Dr. Chen came out and I told her I was looking for some helpful NATURAL Homeopathic ways of helping heal an ulcer, she said I needed to take 3 tests with her and to walk to the back for a consultation. $ 150 she said. I was immediately turned off by the super gruff approach.
Well, I already know I have an ulcer, I thought, and I didn’t need a consultation so declined it. «Ok, I’ll help you quickly she said» I thought, great! She’s nice after all. Ummm…
I quickly realized she just wanted to make sure I didn’t walk out without purchasing anything. She showed me a bottle of Chinese medicine and said that’s what would help. I have never bought Chinese medicine before and know close to nothing about it. The labels were all in chinese characters and when I asked her what it was for, she said it would help with the symptoms… though it didn’t seem that she remembered what they were at all. And really, for all I knew, she was selling me really expensive pepto. At this point I truly just wanted to leave so I took it.
I came back to work and looked up what she sold me. It’s not natural in any way. In fact, it has ingredients known to be linked to tumors and cancer. THE ENTIRE reason I did NOT want to take the anti-​biotics prescribed to me and the ONLY reason I rushed to a natural health store.
I’m out $ 30, no medicine and annoyed I have to write this review. I won’t even take it back because I’m sure it will be pointless. Save yourself, the time, trouble and money.

This business has been purchased a few years ago by Dr. Chen. She is a medical doctor from China, an acupuncturist and Doctor of Oriental Medicine from Japan and Texas. She is very good at diagnosising and patient education and it very sweet once she gets to know you. I had been walking in on occasion over the past 12 years, but never felt good about my experiences until I saw her two years ago after I fainted for no apparent reason and wanted to build up my system. She took a very good history and made some nuturitional recommendations. All in all it wasn’t cheap, but the supplements are fairly priced and her expertise deserved the fee I paid. I have seen her over the years for biannual tuneups for peri-​menopause symptoms, pre-​diabetis and sleeplessness. I am greeted like one of the family when I ask for her by name. Don’t be scared off but the lack of initial reception– she is a caring healer whose opinion I now regularly depend!

I am not one to write reviews, but since there were not that many I decided I would put in my two cents.
I have been wanting to do a cleanse for the past few months. A friend referred me to this place. I went in for a consultation. It was a little expensive, but I feel that it was worth. Dr. Chen spent about an hour going over all my various habits/​conditions to help me come up with the perfect cleanse for me. As I know nothing about doing a cleanse, she could have told me I needed twelve different expensive herbs. Instead she handed me one bottle to start for the cleanse (not very expensive), and then recommended a few others that could help some of my other ailments.
All in all, it was a really great experience. I would definitely drive back out there again.

I am all about vitamins and herbs and special tinctures that give me superpowers However, I will never again get them from here.
I came in to ask what a friend should take for her PMS. Then I asked what I should take for my thyroid problem. The eponymous Amy recommended something and I asked how it was different from what I already was taking.
This seems like any convo you’d have at the GNC, right? But not here, apparently. I was told I had exhausted the amount of free information I would be given. If I wanted to know any more, I would have to book the «doctor’s» services at the hourly rate of $ 60. No thank you.
I returned months later and Amy gave me a hard sell on a product for a problem I told her nothing thus far had been able to solve. She showed me all sorts of client testimonials and I bought the stuff, which I came to find out later was priced $ 10 – 20 more than many other places. After I’d taken the whole bottle according to the instructions with no results and suggested some sort of rectification she chuckled at me and said that was just too bad.
Shame on me for ignoring my gut instinct going back, I guess.

Since as far back as I can remember, my family and I have been coming to this lil Vitamin Land store and acquiring the goods of nature to make us even gooder. What? There goes that well english again.
Anyway, we’ve spent a lot of time here. My most notable memory includes making 50 cents off my parents for running in here as my dad was double parked and picking up 2 quarts of fresh carrot juice once or twice a week. (I got to keep the change, you see) I personally hated the CJ that we were forced to drink after my mom read somewhere that it would give you Xray vision and give you wings or something, but that fiddy cent represented power and status, the bling before the bling, so I wasn’t about to let some disgusting orange substance get in the way of that! ;)
Once we got off that kick, we just came in here for Vitamins and that is still what I will come in here for. They are a bit cheaper than Whole Foods with even more knowledge about homeopathic remedies, so if you are looking for useful suggestions to make your body healthier and stronger then give a stop here… just avoid the carrot juice if you are going to be anywhere near me later ;)
