The Pooch Professor Doribeth Elkins

I highly recommend Doribeth Elkins and her work as the Pooch Professor. She has an uncanny ability to work with my three dogs and modify their behavior in an instant — and she does it firmly but with a smile. Others have commented about Doribeth’s willingness to help when issues arise and I second this. She readily responds to e-​mail messages and telephone calls and has helped me on numerous occasions when I needed advice regarding medical issues for the dogs and also guidance in acquiring my latest rescue puppy. Most important, I trust Doribeth implicitly, so there is no question of access to my home or to my animals. I know all will be cared for as if they were her own. I have referred her to several friends and they have all been happy with her work. And, perhaps most telling, they return to her when new issues arise.

We took our adopted teenage pit mix to K9 loft class with Doribeth, and although I was skeptical at the begging, now I am sure that the money was well spent. She is like a magician!!! Our dog was completely out of control, we were not able to walk her, or take her out in public. Only after few classes it seemed like a night and day in her behavior. My 11 yr old daughter is able to walk the dog with no problem now. Doribeth is a true dog whisperer!!! We are definitely going for advanced training. She is also very good at responding promptly to e-​mails and following up. 10 thumbs up.

My husband and I had two problem pit bulls and we were sure we were going to have to give up one of them. Doribeth (aka the pooch professor) changed the way we interacted with the dogs using new rules and proper boundaries and all four of us have been happily cohabiting for the last 3 years.
PS: Even though we moved back to the east coast, whenever I reach out to her with a doggie concern, she is still there for us. Thanks! Doribeth is definitely a lifesaver!
